Anyway...I hope I can creep into the back end of the top ten but I'd be quite content with top half considering it's not exactly the typical sort of 'does well in BJSC pop song', it's provided a nice end to what I consider was a fairly varied year for FSR Rontvia.

Had to change the odds and predicta because Kopecka actually voted. Rontvia is now projected to finish 11th.

really glad to see Greenfroze doing well! I've become obsessed with the song, although, I would like to see Tinnmark higher up, probably one of the best songs of the year, for me.

I think part of the problem is that everyone DOES look at each other's predictions and then we end up with a lot of very similar looking sets of odds - generally only a couple of people seem to vary at all.

 

I've found nearly all of my entries have been listed at about 20/1 to 30/1 regardless of whether they finished in the top 10 or DNQ.

I'd be over the moon if I get top 10 with 'True Love Fantasy' Pavel! Although I'm sure he likes it so that might've propped it up a bit (actually, a lot) more compared to everyone else's odds.

Yep, I knew this song before this contest and like it a lot, but I definitely see that it can score quite a few 12/10/8's and make its way to the top half of the leaderboard!

I'm glad you find them interesting, and I'll do them again later this afternoon :) Out of the 3 contest I've been in so far, 2 of them have been the favourites of our combined odds, and only Jessica Mauboy being a big surprise. So for the most part, it seems that the method gives a good indicator of what the potential results could be, obviously with a couple of surprise thrown in!

It would be even more interesting if everyone PM'd their odds to RC741 who then averaged them at the end of the semi finals... but I accept there's not much interest or debate in that method!

That would be very interesting indeed, and I'd be up for it - but as you say I don't think many people would want to do that as it creates less discussion :)

I've never quite understood what happened in BJSC XXXVII, as in how we had such an invasion of fempop songs at the top of the scoreboard. Not that they were necessarily BAD, (I think I gave Jessica Mauboy about 6 points) just that I alwys thought that the indie vote was strong enough to prevent that happening.
