Yeah, it was released yesterday on the EP

Cool, must check it out...wonder what new xmas single will get top 40 - michael buble, justin bieber and this seem to have a chance if they do promo!

Okay, got carried away with Right There. :drama: It's just one of my favourite songs of the year, so I felt it "only" getting to #3 was quite poor, since I think it deserved to be a massive #1. :( But, yeah, it did quite well really. It had to climb up the charts too, and got nowhere near as much radio airplay.

Bieber already got top 40 - about a month ago. #21 and then graciously plummetted straight out. I'm really glad Bieber isn't very successful here. I can't imagine what it's like in the USA where his music actually sells in decent quantities.

A bit random, but that Cinnamon Girl version of Set You Free isn't doing very well is it? Considering it's on an advert and it's the same female piano ballad cover formula that's got a similarly anonymous performer (Slow Moving Millie) into the top 40, not to mention getting Charlene Soraia all the way to #3. Is the advert actually getting played on TV?

Does anyone think DWMT will sell quite alot next week or not? Olly's album is out, he has his X Factor performance with the muppets, plus he'll be on tv for another 2 and a half hours with another performance of an album track in that time. Could he overtake Rihanna? Pity about the X Factor single really.

Olly will still have a bigger opening week than the recent singles by Cher, JLS and One Direction though. I thought all 3 of those were guaranteed #1s (or #2 behind The Collective in the latter case - oh dear) while I was predicting Olly would get to about #4 so it's pleasing to see DWMT looking like being the biggest hit of the four. I do really like 'With Ur Love' and like 'Take A Chance On Me' too but DWMT is hands-down the best of those four.

True but all people give a shit about is number 1's and given the lack of competition I thought he would get it. The public don't know about sales but they always seem to know chart positions. It's like when he got a number 2 album, people don't realise that Take That were selling a gazillion copies a week and he'd have wiped the floor with most other numbers 1's that year. Then Matt Cardle can sell 5 copies and be in a well publicised chart battle with Noel Gallagher who sold about 100,000 copies more than him or something. It's like The Saturday's, whenever they're on tv shows they're introduced as Britain's biggest girlband, which sounds impressive. Well of course they are, who else is there? But do they shift records? Do they buggery. But public perception does matter, especially when it comes to gigs like the Jinglebell Ball etc, Olly is usually on first before less successful artists. That's why i really hope he can get a number 1 album next week.

Yeah i remember mistletoe going to no21, thought it was weird at the time because it was October but i think it may rise again if there's a video for it in the next few weeks and maybe some TV appearances or something

The original version of Set You Free was hovering around the 100 mark on itunes a few days ago...maybe its just not hitting the public. Saw it on TV earlier there, its not too bad really considering how well other slow ballads are doing this year. Slow Moving Millie should rise as we get nearer to xmas - its on the radio 2 playlist and more will hear it. It will peak just top 20 imo!

I wouldn't be surprised if DWMT starts off with a 2-2-... chart run (stuck behind TXFF2011/JLS/OD, selling a decent amount both weeks). It's a bit like Rihanna's situation really, his XF performance will boost his sales anyway and then he'll have another version floating around from the album. All he's missing is an appearance on a high-profile compilation album released next week

All 'people' give a shit about is number 1s, but many of us here on BuzzJack's UK chart forum aren't really 'people' :kink: You do make good points though. I think he has a decent shot at getting the #1 album, I'd think Rihanna's sales will decrease quite a lot and it'll end up being Olly vs. Bublé.

Mistletoe already has a video and it did f*** all for it, thankfully. It had a chart run of 21-72-68-89-x (that third week climb was due to the album release). It might re-enter again for one or two weeks as we near Christmas but as soon as it's 26th December it'll collapse right out of the iTunes top 1,000 and never be heard from again. Similar deal with his album, it's so far gone 13-36-52, will probably climb back up a bit soon but it has a maximum of five more top 100 weeks left in it before it collapses to selling bugger all for the rest of eternity. Bublé's album could end up having a RIDICULOUS slump in five weeks' time tomorrow. It'll probably be #1 the week before its slump as well. I sense a chart run of 3-5-2-1-3-2-1-1-1-25 :kink:

If Radio 1 get behind Slow Moving Millie I think she has an outside chance of reaching the top 10 - otherwise I agree, a low top 20 position.

275. Tinie Tempah ft. Emeli Sande - Let Go

512. Professor Green ft. Emeli Sande - Kids That Love To Dance

Why are these so high?!

Haven't seen the video for mistletoe yet, just think this is exactly the time when we see if any xmas songs will do anything and thought it may rise. Maybe Buble will rise with Cold December night...or we shall have to put up with our traditional December ballads instead?

Is Olly not on X-Factor until this Sunday??

Is that the 11th?

On the TV add it says that the album is getting released on Monday and it will feature the new single. So I'm sure people will download it straight of the album...

Ahh he must have pushed it forward...goood stuff, the videos on MTV at the mo as its premiere.they are also playing George Micheal 'December Song' - should have went much higher than no14 in 2009, a xmas classic!!

I think Let Go is 59p, not sure about the Prof Green song

New JLS singles video is premiered on saturday...

On a lighter note wonder if that Iceland ad will cause Chris Rea to chart higher this season with driving home for christmas?

could be emeli sandé hype. :P wouldn't surprise me at all.

Thanks. That's awesome. I'd like it to go top 200. :)

I did think that at first. But the only reason I think maybe not is because neither of these songs got in the top 1000 after she performed on X Factor, and when Heaven was being released. So if it was down to hype, I think they would've charted then too.

Well I'm a toy and you're a cheese, not really people. ;)

Olly sold over 100k first week last time round on the back of similar charting singles and this time he has an X Factor & Xtra Factor performance right before release. He's already number 4 in the HMV album chart on pre orders alone. BUble could cover his way to the top of the charts as per or maybe Rihanna will multiple copy her way to number 1 again! <_<

I think it's actually the songs themselves.

I've noticed this year, most artists lead with a europop, up-beat song, which always does extremely well, and then follow up with a slower urban song, which always does really badly. Examples:

Jennifer Lopez - On the Floor - europop, does well, then I'm Into You - urban, doesn't do well

Re OTF - I'm not sure Pitbull would be flattered at being described as 'Europop'... :P

62. All I Want for Christmas Is You (Original Version) - Mariah Carey

65. Fairytale of New York - The Pogues & Kirsty MacColl

89. Fairytale of New York - Kirsty MacColl & The Pogues

I can see both these being back in the official top 40 a week tomorrow. :)

Is "Sexy And I Know It" back ahead of "Marry The Night" by default or did it get a boost?
