June 17, 201213 yr Very pleased that Germany are through, although I agree that it wasn't their best game by a long shot. I'm guessing Greece will be easy enough for them to beat (I haven't watch any of their games).
June 17, 201213 yr Holland have been so disappointing. You'd think with their attacking ability they would manage at least one point and more than two goals Played like a bunch of individuals rather than a team THIS. I am ashamed to be Dutch at the moment. I actually walked out of the pub I was watching the match after Portugal scored the second time.
June 17, 201213 yr So Greece vs. Germany and Czech Republic vs. Portugal That's Portugal and Germany through to the Semi finals then, although stranger things have happened

I'm guessing Greece will be easy enough for them to beat (I haven't watch any of their games). Germany should have no problem going through. Only team to finish the groups with 9points ^_^ Happy bunny with tonights result. Although I would have preferred Denmark and Germany to go through over the Dutch and the Divers.
June 17, 201213 yr :cheer: :w00t: :cheer: PORTUGAL :cheer: :yahoo: :cheer: 6 Euros - 6 group phases cleared Edited June 17, 201213 yr by N-S
June 17, 201213 yr I watched the Germany match on ITV 4 it was far more entertaining, Germany scored a blinder. I really wanted Denmark to qualify over Portugal though.
June 17, 201213 yr I saw the Germany v Denmark game although it was really a matter of choosing Jon Champion over Clive Tyldesley. I couldn't understand Germany's attitude for most of the second half. They were just plodding along without seeming to make any real effort to win. At one point a Danish goal would have put them out.
June 17, 201213 yr Too many cooks spoiled the broth with regards to Netherlands. Great team on paper, but for attitude reasons they don't get along. Very similar to France in 2010, and less similar to England in 2010 aswell. Lots of good players, but the players question the coach and because they're older and around a similar age they're harder to control. Just proves that if you can't control the midfield you generally will get beat unless you're very very clinical. Portugal were good, but Holland were terrible. I still stand by that although Portugal have good players I don't think their as strong as the should be and their keeper is a loose cannon. I think they only play really well when Ronaldo shows up to party, as shown by today. When that happens they're class. But if he's having an off day then they can be average to poor. His desire to be better than Messi is unbelievable though. I can't work out whether it's incredibly sad, or brilliant.
June 18, 201213 yr Paddy Power: To win Germany 23/10 Spain 12/5 France 7/1 Portugal 15/2 England 12/1 Italy 14/1 Croatia 30/1 Czech Republic 33/1 Greece 45/1 Ukraine 80/1 Top Goalscorer Mario Gomez 15/8 Fernando Torres 7/2 Cristiano Ronaldo 4/1 Cesc Fabregas 16/1 Mario Mandzukic 16/1 Karim Benzema 25/1 Lukas Podolski 33/1 Andriy Schevchenko 40/1 Antonio Di Natale 40/1 Andy Carroll 40/1
June 18, 201213 yr Yesterday was easily Portugal's best performance, they've been so overrated for a long time now purely because they have Ronaldo, but they should reach the semi finals really, I'm still shocked that Czech's and Greece got through, so far this is such an average Quarter Final line-up, two poor and one average side that have nothing of their sides of a decade ago.
June 18, 201213 yr Author Funny that Italy and Croatia, despite having less than a 2/3 chance of even getting out of the group, are still more fancied than either of the teams that have already qualified out of Group A. Forza Italia tonight, even though (assuming we don't top our group) Croatia would give us an easier game IMO.
June 18, 201213 yr Bendtner fined €100,000 for his Paddy Power pants celebration. Just for comparison, here's how that stacks up against some past UEFA fines: 2004: £45,000 Spain (racism) 2007: £16,500 Serbia (racism) 2008: £10,000 Croatia (racism) Well done UEFA.

Forza Italia tonight, even though (assuming we don't top our group) Croatia would give us an easier game IMO. I hope for England's sake we got our defensive mistakes out of the Sweden game. I think we're likely to go out at the quarter-finals now whoever we get (assuming we get through) Bendtner fined €100,000 for his Paddy Power pants celebration. Just goes to show how strict they are on advertising. If the sponsors pull out there is no European Championships. Just highlights where their priorities lie and that money most certainly talks!
June 18, 201213 yr H/T Croatia 0-0 Spain H/T Italy 1-0 Ireland At the moment Italy top the group on goals scored with Spain going through second. Am I the only that's REALLY confused here? I'm swear Spain have scored more and have a better goal difference. EDIT: Oh its goals scored in the head-to-heads between Italy, Spain and Croatia
June 18, 201213 yr Watched the Spain match, it was a pretty good match, Croatia really played well they had a few chances, in the end Spain found their way.
June 18, 201213 yr Croatia's defence was very good, which makes me glad that they're not through to play England (if they do get through). Although Italy would probably beat them anyway  I'm pleased for Spain's win, but like with Germany last night, it was a disappointing match and I wouldn't have been surprised if that goal wasn't scored - open or not
June 18, 201213 yr I thought Spain were more painfully dull than usual tonight and were lucky to get through based on that match. The Croats outplayed them in terms of creating and going forward and were solid at the back until giving away a stupid goal. I dislike Spain a little bit if you can't already tell.
June 18, 201213 yr Spain looked lost out of ideas at times. That's the way to beat them, cos they're always going to have the ball. If England are disciplined enough and don't drop back too deep if England ended up getting through and playing them then we've the quality up front to cause Spain some problems, especially if Carroll plays. Set up interestingly for tomorrow. Italy and France always seemed destined to play each other :D
June 18, 201213 yr Author Boo at Spain going through. Had Croatia equalised would it have gone to penalties?
