December 5, 201113 yr Yes, last year. Nonsuch won with The Flood and it certainly didn't win it's contest. Oh, right. It just seems unlikely that such a thing would happen. I guess the influence of newer countries towards the end of 2010 would've made a big difference. Kinda like the new countries taking part now in BJSC, had they been involved in XXXIII would Agnes Obel have won? Possibly not. :o Out of interest, where did Nonsuch finish in its monthly contest?
December 5, 201113 yr I shall be going through the finals of this year right now hoping to pick some Gems. Any recommendations for me? :D
December 5, 201113 yr Also might as well ask, are countries only allowed a certain number of entries in TBO? Would be rather unfair if FSR Rontvia had about 8 tracks in the final 30 with everyone else battling for 1 of the remaining 22 places.
December 5, 201113 yr There is no limit to the amount of songs from each country no, we tried a different system last year where everyone was guaranteed at least one entry (their highest placed one in the course of the year) but it just wouldn't be doable this year, and it felt a bit artificial :(

Any recommendations for me? :D As a starting point, here's my BJSC XXXIV Final video recap (yes, I'm digging it out again!!! <_< ). 28 songs, if any stand out then YouTube Recommends will help you out. :D xOVK6NJDtw4
December 5, 201113 yr Author I shall be going through the finals of this year right now hoping to pick some Gems. Any recommendations for me? :D Anything from FSR Ashvia :kink: Also might as well ask, are countries only allowed a certain number of entries in TBO? Would be rather unfair if FSR Rontvia had about 8 tracks in the final 30 with everyone else battling for 1 of the remaining 22 places. There is no limit on the number of entries to TBO by a single nation. It's done on merit, so the best songs get through regardless of who sent them. (and Rontvia already have 3 final places, and you already have 1. There are only 20 final spots to play for with the winners already claiming 10.)
December 5, 201113 yr Thanks Hits, some of the songs have already grabbed my attention. I shall review on them into more depth :P

Ria, Adaline and Britanny McDonald definitely won't go further. Eric Amarillo, Katie Cole and maybe Elsiane have an outside shot of going a little further but I'd be surprised if any of them went through to TBO final. You could end up with quite a few entries in it yourself - Agnes Obel is already there, Andain, Brooke Fraser and Gotye definitely have a chance to go further too, the latter in particular screams this year's non top ten that excels in TBO.
December 8, 201113 yr We will make a formal annoucement in the next couple of days, but TBO is likely to begin early next week.

True. I gave Gotye 0 but now it's a contender for 12  I know I'm late but it has been grown a lot since then.
December 8, 201113 yr True. I gave Gotye 0 but now it's a contender for 12  I know I'm late but it has been grown a lot since then. Same, I was like 'meh' at first and now I really do properly love it  Same with Video Games. Well I did give it 8 but now it's definitely up there with my fave BJSC tracks of the year.
December 8, 201113 yr True. I gave Gotye 0 but now it's a contender for 12  I know I'm late but it has been grown a lot since then. Gotye feat. Kimbra to win TBO. :w00t: Every wrong shall be righted... ^_^
December 17, 201113 yr Totally off topic to this contest - but just found out Jade from Little Mix is cousins with Zoe Badwi (former winner of BJSC)! It's a small world.. Edited December 17, 201113 yr by ROBOT
December 17, 201113 yr Really? :o She's quite musically connected, she's good friends with Joe McElderry too
December 17, 201113 yr I heard Sleigh Bells - Rill Rill (vastly underrated PRoJ entry) at work today, some shockingly good taste there on a radio that usually pumps out 80s and 90s MOR :o
December 17, 201113 yr Author Both Butterflies and I Know are being pimped out on Morrisons FM. I heard I Know for the first time last night and about had a fit. It was squeetastic.
