Bias towards his own contestant? Who woulda thunk it!

I mean it in the way that when Marcus hasn't even sung that well Gary will say it was the best of the night and will even say that other people were crap when they werent. He's obviously gonna support him more because it's his contestant but at least KEEP IT REAL. Annoying by proxy.

Little Mix & Tulisa was outstanding! Seriously good ... was a bit worried for Tulisa but her vocals were amazing. 'You've Got The Love' was pretty good too, although Perrie's voice sounded a little off at parts. Marcus was a complete bore which is a shame seeing as he showed so much promise in the earlier stages, Amelia gave some of her best performances tonight but she was never going to win and I've realised there's something quite insincere and unlikeable about her personality.

But yeah Little Mix have to win!! Oh and JLS/1D was honestly the most cringeworthy performance I've ever witnessed, euuuugh and Michael Bublé for yet another final? REALLY?! Can they seriously not get anyone else? It's embarrasing. Leona was good and gave a good vocal but not a fan of her version of the song and she needs to work on her diction.

Little Mix seem absolutely hot faves, and I'd love them to win but just have this feeling Marcus will snatch it. The Sun/Yougov poll which to my knowledge has definitely successfully predicted wins for Joe and Matt and I think actually has a strong record dating back to Pop Idol but not in conjunction with The Sun, predicted 1st Marcus, 2nd Little Mix 3rd Amelia,

Last year on the question who do you intend to vote for it was:

51% Matt 32% Rebecca 9% One Direction 8% Cher

They predicted Joe to win by quite some way with Olly 2nd, Stacy 3rd

The key thing about this years vote is how close it is

Marcus 32% Little Mix 27% Amelia 21% (obviously percentages don't add up as people said they would vote on the night etc)

Definitely thought it was interesting to the question who will have the best career Little Mix were way out in front.

Still think it could swing either way, regardless of the perception some have that Little Mix have it in the bag, I think it will be a heck of a lot closer than that.

The main thing I think whichever wins is that they don't do this whole hiding them until October thing. Say the girls do win, they should follow a model similar to Girls Aloud singles wise, Xmas single, next single no later than May/June, get them on summer shows keep interest going, then release the album in conjunction with the next series with their second original song to promote it. And definitely if Marcus wins to get a single out after the Xmas one ASAP, he would be so utterly screwed if they hide him away until October, other than Leona that strategy hasn't really worked and perhaps a return to a Shayne Ward style release run would suit him better, they'll kill him if they follow the usual strategy, a summer single I think is the minimum for both potential winners, its very plausible too, after the XF tour to keep things ticking over.

Best Perf: Little Mix (perf 2)

Best Guest: Leona (shockingly)!

Little Mix to win plz.

I disagree, it worked well for Alexandra Burke.

Watching on catch up and the regular live shows are gonna seem so lackluster compared to this from now on!

Jack your signature

At the end of the day, if you have a strong enough song, it will work anytime you release. Leona & Alexandra had strong songs .... Matt and Joe's were both fairly forgettable - although I do agree that a Summer release would be much better. Cher Lloyd wouldn't have got a #01 if she waited, I reckon 1D would've if they released WMYB as their lead though, same with JLS and Beat Again. It's all about the song really.

10.0 Marcus - Hey Ya! - INCREDIBLE. His best performance by far. SO GOOD. Adore the song too.

09.5 Little Mix & Tulisa - If I Ain't Got You / Empire State of Mind - Now that's a return to shape. Tulisa could be BETTER though.

08.0 Little Mix - You Got The Love - I thought their VT would never end LOL. It just wasn't as good as before. SIGH. The version of You've Got The Love was dreadful - perhaps that's why?

05.5 Marcus & Gary - She's Always a Woman - What a boring song, I almost died.

03.0 Amelia Lily & Kelly - River Deep, Mountain High - Even Kelly can't save the bitch. Dreadful. Boot her the f*** out.

02.0 Amelia Lily - Ain't No Other Man - It's so obvious she's MUCH weaker than Marcus and Little Mix. Awful song choice, awful vocals, no stage presence, dreadful dress.

Good GOD I f***ing HATE JLS and 1D, especially the latter. So overrated it's crazy. I love Olly Murs too. He's so pretty.

Leona's performance was MINDBLOWINGLY INCREDIBLE too. I loved the contrast in the song.

Oh and Bublé can just f*** off.

Perfect final two as well.

It appears that Kelly's mole appeared on Amelia's face. :D

How funny that Kelly lost three acts in the last three weeks

The song is obviously the main thing but strategy certainly plays a part too, and 1D/Cher/Olly have had a better strategy than the winners of those series. Releasing in the Summer the market is a lot quieter and you're pretty much guaranteed blanket exposure, also with another single out before the album they've already established themselves so the second single gets the same exposure, and when the album is released the public has two songs in their conscience and more people are likely to buy it. Releasing in the Autumn the market has already started to become crowded, it has more competition for both sales and exposure, and when the album is released the public only know one song, people are more likely to buy an album by a new act that they know more than one song by. There's usually another single out in late November/early December, but the competition is even greater then and is far more likely to get lost because everyone with an album to sell for Xmas has a single out, and radio/TV becomes saturated with Christmas songs and Best of Year lists. Still, if the material was stronger it may sell more, but a limp single in the summer is at least going to get more exposure than one in the Autumn, and there's still plenty of time to make the album a decent seller for Christmas.

Of course! If he started criticising his own acts then the public would think OOH GARY THINKS HIS OWN ACT WAS NOT THAT GREAT, IT MUST BE TRUE, NOT VOTING FOR HIM THEN. Every judge does that. The exception was when Gary had to admit Frankie's performance one week ago was bad.

Marcus 32% Little Mix 27% Amelia 21% (obviously percentages don't add up as people said they would vote on the night etc)

People can only vote once on that poll too right? Whereas you have to factor in the people who'll vote countless times. Marcus will probably pick up many casual votes....but Little Mix will likely have more dedicated voters voting many times.

If we want to have a look at X Factor Tracker (which has done pretty well with predictions): http://xfactortracker.com/

Little Mix seem to be well out in front.

It's not a good indicator at all....but the majority of online polls I've seen have Little Mix storming ahead with Marcus nowhere.

Don't want to chance luck but I think Little Mix will win tonight, but it'll be far closer than the odds and buzz would have you believe.

Bit disappointed that Amelia went out over Marcus (who was pretty crap tonight) - but I'm just too delighted at Little Mix going through to care too much!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I fully agree - Marcus should have gone weeks before

Would be good in musicals but as a recording artist rubbish - his voice is too girlie

I still think Amelia & Little Mix will have good recording careers - Marcus would become another Steve Brookstein/Leon Jackson

In a way it maybe a godsend that Amelia hasn't won. Apart from Leona - most acts that came 2nd, 3rd & 4th have gone on to have better careers than the winners.

Look at One Direction (now doing shows in Germany and have charted in Azerbaijan), JLS (even though I can't stand them), Diana Vickers, Cher Lloyd, Olly Murs, Rebecca Ferguson

Leona was amazing

Michael Buble - why every year! :puke2:

My rankings:

10.0 - Amelia Lily & Kelly - River Deep, Mountain High - 2 goddam powerful voices

9.0 - Amelia Lily - Ain't No Other Man - Did brilliantly on such a hard song

8.5 - Little Mix & Tulisa - If I Ain't Got You / Empire State of Mind - Really good job

6.0 - Little Mix - You Got The Love - I'm really sick of hearing this boring disco song

4.0 - Marcus - Hey Ya! - Vocally really poor - not a patch on the original with his girlie voice

4.0 - Marcus & Gary - She's Always a Woman - I nearly fell asleep

I REALLY want LM to win so so so so bad but it's blatantly obvious Marcus has got it :(

I really think its blatent that Little Mix has got it now. Absolutely no-one seems impressed by him last night and

X Factor tracker which has been right everytime this series, except from two occassions has Little Mix MILES ahead of Marcus.

The final last night apparently got a shocking 10.9 million viewer on average with a peak of 12.1 million, which is just terrible, considering last years final got a peak of 19 million. I predict viewing will be up a bit more tonight but still VERY poor.

It'd suit them both if Little Mix won and Marcus came second

I genuinely cannot see Marcus going on to have a successful career if he won, whereas I think he could go on and do an "Olly Murs" with a Summer release if he didn't

I honestly don't get how people can rate Ain't No Other Man that highly... sorry but it was so flat vocally, she looked absolutely lost on the stage and there was no energy to the performance. Just a complete dud all round.

I hope Marcus wins, I want another flop male winner and Syco will have no original ideas for Marcus.Little Mix are so overrated, the hype will die down because they are not that interesting or talented.

The ratings are dire, I wonder if Stricly got more, The Mirror said they are expecting 20 million for tonight that will never happen.

I don't think it's blatantly anyone. I still think Little Mix will win, but it'll be close.

 at X Factor Tracker though, Marcus's bar is almost empty.

This tbh. Thinking of voting for LM tonight even though I don't really rate them. Ain't No Other Man >>> You Got The Love.
