December 12, 201113 yr It was week 3 because Sophie left the following week when Kelly was pulling a sickie in LA.
December 12, 201113 yr I've whacked it all into Excel (I KNOW, don't start) and pulled out the vote performances proportional to the mean (to the number of acts per week - so in week 2, there were 12 acts. The mean vote percentage would therefore be 100 divided by 12 - 8.3%. Voting percentages above the mean gets 100%+, those below get less than 100%) - which shows voting bumps and general trends quite well, accounting for the reduced number of acts as the show goes on which makes raw percentages harder to precisely interpret. The big losers of the series by this method were Janet, Johnny and The Risk, whilst Misha was easily the biggest gainer. Frankie was the standard Wagner/Jedward-style contestant, bumping along and tending to only just to avoid elimination. Marcus was generally of average popularity. (Here's the above in a graph format. Don't ask why it struck me to do this at 1am on a Monday morning.) http://img23.imageshack.us/img23/8276/screenshot20111212at020.png
December 12, 201113 yr Did no one else here Gary say "that's why I picked this song for you"?!He didn't say this. He said "I would never have picked this song for you" :P Keisha out of the Sugababes just tweeted saying vote for Little Mix, and that they remind her of the girls. I have asked her which girls they remind her of...Genuine LOL. All we need now is for SyCo to actually make Little Mix successful in the same way they did with Leona/Alexandra.I believe they actually can make them successful. I've not seen Simon so on board with an act, like he is with Little Mix, since Alexandra won. I think he's deadly serious in wanting to make them as successful as Girls Aloud/Sugababes at the least. He also seems to be better with female acts as opposed to males so who knows! VOTING: WEEK 2: JANET / 2ND THE RISK WEEK 3: JANET / 2ND JOHNNY WEEK 4: JANET / 2ND LITTLE MIX WEEK 5: JANET / 2ND LITTLE MIX WEEK 6: AMELIA / 2ND JANET WEEK 7: LITTLE MIX / 2ND MISHA B WEEK 8: AMELIA / 2ND LITTLE MIX SEMI: LITTLE MIX / 2ND MARCUSLoving how Janet went from 1st, 2nd, 3rd, 4th/being booted out. She was DEFINITELY losing her appeal as each week went on. Thankfully the public came to their senses and the judges probably picked up on this. Also loving how Little Mix gradually grew and grew. ---- What an immense final that was! I actually really enjoyed it all! (Even COLDPLAY! - Their performance was amazing. Loved the whole glow in the dark stuff and their set was mesmerizing.) Little Mix definitely deserved it! I'm really glad they managed to only to be the first girl group to get to the final, but the first group to win! I don't think I've loved any group quite as much as I love these! Marcus did well tonight, bar the rubbish 'Last Christmas' performance, which is what probably cost him the win, imo. Little Mix got it spot on with 'Silent Night' and I couldn't be more proud of them. *swoon* I've downloaded the single and will probably buy the CD.
December 12, 201113 yr Genuinely so so happy for Little Mix! Not been so pleased with a reality winner since Alexandra (and probably even before then because it was obvious she was going to win!) - I was actually crying with happiness for them  They definitely deserved it, even being objective they gave much better performances than Marcus imo! So 10 hours ago but I had no internet last night so I have to react late :P Cannonball is stunning as well, best winner's single since Hallelujah for me  As for the voting, quite a few surprises! Mostly Little Mix being quite popular from Week 2. Also Sophie coming 3rd (although it was all very close) in week 2, Johnny being so close to topping the vote in Week 3, Craig being so low in Week 3, Amelia winning week 6 by such a huge amount and then Amelia winning again in week 8 :o No surprises with Janet topping so much though...
December 12, 201113 yr Harsh of the judges to get rid of Janet at the first available opportunity considering she'd been practically dominating up to landing in the bottom two due to a poor round of song choices/performances. I echo the comments that it was nice to see Little Mix grow, going gradually from 6th to 4th, 3rd, 2nd and 1st in the weekly votes and building a fanbase up as opposed to Janet who got the hype/uniqueness votes for a few weeks before the novelty wore off. Two other things that surprised me were Craig Colton never doing that well at all (he always seemed like such a favourite!) and James Michaels getting so much of the 'vote back in' vote :/
December 12, 201113 yr Glad Little Mix did it over rubbish Marcus. Although my favourite was Amelia - LM were my second faves Also a nice change from having a male winner who gets the votes: not for talent but all the female votes for how fit they are. Just why have the winners song got to be boring ballad covers. Cannonball is the worst winners song yet - I don't even like the original. Let's have a new song & uptempo next year. Coldplay were sensational - Westlife were absolutre rubbish - decided it was loo time when they came on. Thank god they will soon be no more. Over the 2 shows only Coldplay & Leona were the only decent acts.

December 12, 201113 yr Wow Verity thanks for your graph it is like being at school but more colourful. Jane was the Eoghan Quigg of this year, Irish and deaf votes could only take her so far. I thought typical X-factor that Marcus and Craig would have been topping the votes. Misha was totally derailed by that heiffer Tulisa. I hope Misha's career stomps over Tulisa's solo efforts. I have to hand it to Little Mix, fair play to them, they better get good management though as Syco are pitiful.
December 12, 201113 yr Why does everyone rail at Tulisa for Bullygate? Tulisa brought up overconfidence, but Louis was the one who dropped the bully bomb.
December 12, 201113 yr I'm really glad Little Mix won, finally a group won, what can I say... I liked Marcus a lot too, but I was kinda hoping for Little Mix to win because I wanted to see a group win. And it happened. Yay! And I did enjoy Little Mix's performances throughout the series so it's not just that a group won, but a group that I actually liked. Edited December 12, 201113 yr by Mattias
December 12, 201113 yr XFactor have had far, far better bands than Little Pigs, let's be honest. The final was a pretty lacklustre, humdrum affair..... thankfully Kelly Rowland left her nauseating 'ghetto speak' in the house.... sorry love, this is not America. But the NDubz chavette.... I cringed at her 'rallying calls' - desperate, really. And I still think having a member of Britain's worst band (official) giving advice and judgements to wannabe pop stars is kind of laughable. She'll always be the women with two cu**s to me I'm afraid. My overriding feeling is that this contest had one genuine talent with a shred of XFactor - Misha B, who will undoubtedly go on to big things. Yes, Little Pigs will sell records..... but kids will buy anything..... if it's on telly, it must be good - period. I worked in music retail long enough to understand the power of hype and TV advertising. And Cowell's the master of hype, end of, whether it's any good or not. And judging by their pitiful performance last night, Westlife are testament to this. I still think Rowland robbed Jade of a place in this contest - and a possible win. Just don't think she 'got' Jade..... who, let's be honest, was a gorgeous blend of Adele and Amy, very 'now'. But she didn't look the part... and Rowland couldn't see past this.
December 12, 201113 yr I really don't get what Jade would have given us that we haven't already got in Adele? She is/was just another, inferior version of her, imo. She has a great voice (no doubt about it) but we don't really need her at the moment.
December 12, 201113 yr Jade's voice wasn't that special anyway. She could hit the notes but it wasn't a particularly emotive voice from the performances we saw and on top of that we've seen how much trouble Syco have marketing a big-voiced balladeer (Leona) so I reckon they wanted to avoid that this time.
December 12, 201113 yr Week 3: Kitty had lowest / Sami went Week 4: Misha had lowest / Sophie went Week 5 (double eviction): Kitty had 2nd lowest / Johnny went Week 6: Misha had lowest / Kitty went Week 8: Misha had lowest / Janet went Considering there were only 7 judge vote-offs, and 5 times they went against the public vote - I really do think it should just be a public vote. But, we all know that's never gonna happen.
Why? Would it have really made for a better overall result? More democracy isn't necessarily always the answer...the right person went pretty much every time (even though my personal tastes would've liked the judges to save Nu Vibe over Frankie, the show benefited far more from having Frankie for much longer).
December 12, 201113 yr I'm thankful for the judges vote, it led to the right decision each time imo, even if Misha had been in the sing-off three times without going. I find it quite amusing how Kitty was bottom both times she was saved, but not when she actually went.
December 12, 201113 yr I just don't think the judges should really have so much power - I mean, look how many times Misha was bottom, that's going against the public's judgement 3 times. I personally think it's better for the public to have the say, they're the ones who are gonna be buy the music, or pay to go see the tour, after all.
December 12, 201113 yr The thing is that acts that constantly fall into bottom 2 and get saved by judges never win, or even reach Top 3.
December 12, 201113 yr I can see Rob's point. Perhaps the judges should have a 'save' like on American Idol, that they can use once per series to save the act who came bottom of the public vote, but only if they all agree. I think the public can still make a mistake, or people just don't pick up the phone because they presume the act would be safe anyway, and that method could work. I'm surprised it didn't go to deadlock more often tbh, only once this series? Compared to five times a couple of years ago.
