I totally saw that coming, so it has like 90% less impact.
Some nice songs so far! I didn't realise Wonderland were dropped! Such a shame, I really liked their album! The Benny Benassi remix of Earthquake is amazing!

90

From the album: Flags (year end number 24)

Personal chart peak: 8

UK chart peak: DNC (30 in New Zealand)

Personal chart run:(2pl-xx-10-7-12-25-32-46-58)

Brooke is a brilliant New Zealand singer who mixes folk with pop to create commercial, radio friendly tracks. This was the second single from her brilliant 3rd album Flags, but failed to live up to first single Something In The Water which hit number 1 in her home country and even managed to break the top 200 in the UK!

From the album: Killer Love (year end number 10)

Personal chart peak: 17

UK chart peak: 21

Personal chart run: (20-17-18-21-20-22-46-60)

The first of 3 entries from Ms. Dreamwrecker, this was the 4th single from her debut solo album Killer Love (or 2nd album if you count unreleased because of flop fears Her Name Is Nicole). It might be a generic Only Girl (In The World) clone but it's so catchy, fun and harmless and it does the job well!

From the album: Four The Record

Personal chart peak: 21

UK chart peak: N/A (not released, 51 in US)

Personal chart run: (42-34-xx-21-23-25-23-27-34-45-50-66)

Miranda is one of my fave singers of all time, so I was absolutley BUZZING for new stuff from her. This was the lead single for this era, a confident anthem with attitude. I can't deny I wasn't a little disappointed by the album but this was a great single that I enjoyed a lot!

87 Nadine Beiler - The Secret Is Love

From the album: I've Got A Voice

Personal chart peak: 3

UK chart peak: DNC (9 in Austria)

Personal chart run: (4-17-19-21-25-27)*while chart was top 40

It may seem odd for a personal chart number 3 to chart so low end of year when some songs that missed top 10 are above it, but this was a classic hyped up by Eurovision track, I got over it pretty quickly and it fell to match. Lovely song though, gutted it didn't do better at Eurovision :(

From the album: Saade Vol. 1

Personal chart peak: 7

UK chart peak: 76

Personal chart run: (1xpl-7-14-16-16-17-21-20-22-28)*while chart was top 40

Another ESC track now, this is one did a lot better, coming 3rd in the contest. It also stuck for me longer than TSIL, but still fell a bit too fast, more than it should actually :(

85

From the album: Who You Are (year end number 22)

Personal chart peak: 11

UK chart peak: 16

Personal chart run: (2pl-xx-11-11-15-19-29-41-58)

This girl has a few entries in this countdown, and here is the first. I have to be honest, I was taken AT ALL by the idea of this as a single to begin with, but I really do love it now. It shows attitude just like Do It Like A Dude did and it's a fun track!

From the album: Pink Friday (2010 year end number 4)

Personal chart peak: 14

UK chart peak:16

Personal chart run: (2pl-xx-24-21-15-14-15-17-19-23-29-37-50-67)

2011 has been amazing for Nicki, she finally broke out and became huge as she deserves to! This isn't her best single by any stretch but it's a lovely track and Rihanna sounds great on it, I think she should've released it earlier and it could've been bigger!

From the album: Rush

Personal chart peak:7

UK chart peak: N/A (not released, 4 in Norway)

Personal chart run: (8-18-24-xx-14-23-26-30-35)*while chart was top 40

Back to BJSC now! I actually knew and loved this song (and Anna) before BJSC but the contest boosted it in my affections. Brilliant Scandipop from one of my fave Scandi females, she never lets us down!

From the album: Femme Fatale (year end number 11)

Personal chart peak: 10

UK chart peak: DNC (55 in US)

Personal chart run:(7pl-xx-35-17-10-19-30-40-45-48-51-62-69-75)

It was a big year for Britney as she returned with her (amazing, may I mention) 7th studio album Femme Fatale. Sadly the era was a bit of a flop and by the time this, the glorious 4th single, was released interest had totally waned. Thus it totally missed the chart. Shame, because it's a great mid-tempo pop track from her that shows a side we don't often see. Even the amazing video (filmed in our very own Laandaaan) couldn't help it get anywhere :(

81 Wynter Gordon - Buy My Love

From the album: With The Music I Die (year end number 2)

Personal chart peak: 16

UK chart peak: N/A (not released, 77 in Australia)

Personal chart run:

As you can tell from it being top 2 in my EOY albums, I adore the album. This is one my faves on it, a wonderfully fun uptempo dance-pop track. It may be a tad generic compared to some of the more 'out-there' tracks on WTMID but I love it nonetheless! In addition, this is yet another BJSC entry, although I knew it much before (Hendinia entered it a few months ago).
