Anyone know how many sales an album between numbers 35-40 would get this time of year?

What number is Kelly Rowland Here I Am?

31, as per the BBC Chart Update

I'm shocked that Nightwish's album is even Top 40! Considering how well Within Temptation did earlier this year, I thought Nightwish would have topped them.
Great. I'm not a big Coldplay fan but that is a lovely christmas song that deserves more attention. Same with Annie Lennox's Come Rest Ye Merry Gentlemen.

Theyve played it a few times this week!! Its also heading for the top 100 in the chart this week!!! :w00t:

Official Charts Twitter says X Factor Finalists are 1,600 copies ahead of Olly! Also Amy Winehouse on 96,000 copies!

Wow 100k for amy already - 175-200k by sunday!! Maybe more with it being 3 Sundays till xmas too!!

XFF will probably follow the same old pattern of #1 on the first three mids then being overhauled on Friday and ending up way off the top. They're about to drop out of the iTunes top 10 (letting Drake back in, so he could possibly climb a few from his #16 position today).

Flo Rida finally overtakes Rihanna - I hope he overtakes Jessie too and T-Pain pushes her out of the top 5 :D

Speaking of T-Pain, I'm surprised he's not top 10 today but I think Tuesday is generally a very low sales day (hence #1s being able to hold on despite really small leads) so I won't read too much into that. Top 5 is within his reach for this week and I think he could climb next week, certainly position-wise and maybe sales-wise too? Lloyd I could also see increasing his sales in week 2. I genuinely have no clue who's going to be #1 this week :D

Coldplay still hanging onto the top 10, Avicii has overtaken Kelly to number eight and with any luck tomorrow she'll be overtaken by both Coldplay and T-Pain.

Urgh at Mariah overtaking The Pogues but it was obviously going to happen. The Pogues are still up a place on yesterday despite that and despite being what seems like the only Christmas song that hasn't had its price slashed. And they're now at #17 which is where they peaked last year, I do hope they can remain at least that high and hopefully get even higher (be it this week or in the next 2 weeks) :D

Encouraging to see Wham! and Wizzard top 40 - while I'm no fan of 'Last Christmas' at all I didn't expect it to break the top 40 this early so it gives me hope that some better Christmas songs will join it by Sunday (Merry Xmas Everybody, Merry Christmas Everyone and Do They Know It's Christmas? could all join the five that are already top 40 to make the top 40 20% Christmas I reckon :D)

Boring album update. I hope we get at least one more sales update for Amy before Sunday.

Oh wait, we do have a sales update on Amy today - OCC report says 'nearly 96,000'. So it sold roughly 29k yesterday. That seems quite healthy. Should be on course for 200k+ if it just keeps selling at that pace and its sales should increase at the weekend so it could go quite a bit over 200k :o

OCC also say XFF's lead is 1.6k. Olly hasn't closed it much but again we've seen this story many times this year already.

I saw on Twitter that Jessie J is 6,000 copies behind #1. If she had a random sales surge she could make #1!

96k :o wow. I didn't expect the album to get #1 let alone sales that high.

Thanks

Oh, I didn't notice aprilj had already posted the sales info :P

I'm disappointed in that, I was hoping Olly would have closed by as many as 500 copies. I reckon they'll still have a lead of at least 1,200 at the end of today and they'll get a boost because of physicals on Saturday. If things continue like this they'll beat Olly IMO becuase that Itunes gap between them obviously isn't counting for much and it's only increasing slowly. At these snail pace sales Lloyd could snatch it if he continue his surge.

XF-related singles have recently had a tendency to somehow hold on for 3 days despite starting on a very small lead but still ending up miles off #1 by the end of the week. See With Ur Love, Take A Chance On Me, Gotta Be You. So I don't think XFF will get #1, but I also don't know who will get #1, it's a genuinely quite exciting race for #1 this week (it'll be a very different case next week -_- but the race for #2 could still be interesting and I think sales are low/close enough for Coldplay to snatch the #2 as long as they do perform Paradise on XF).

I'd take encouragement from that X Factor drop off trend if DWMT hadn't done the same thing as the other X Factor related songs! That said, it's in a different position to it's first week as there's more awareness of the song now so it's weeks sales aren't frontloaded. We need to know how far behind Lloyd is really, under 6,000 copies cos he's ahead of Jessie J, but how far behind is he?

I fully expected it be No.1 this week. ;)

They were yesterday, got pushed out because sales are so high in December. Otherwise they and Korn would be pushing top 20 and The Black Keys top 10.

The wise money would be on Olly being no.1! It's reminscent of the Flo vs RiRi battle a few weeks ago. When she went past 1D her lead was too huge for Flo even if he was closing. Flo had more chance then Lloyd and T-Pain, as him and RiRi were selling larger amounts.

The no,1 this week will barely clearly 50k.....DREADFUL!

It is pretty dreadful. Is there any particular reason why sales are so low or is it just one of those freak things?

It's just the lack of any major single releases really.
