I can see Kelly Clarkson missing the top 40 with her new single. :(

Don't worry, I highly doubt she will. The music video has only just been released, so I think it will probably peak early February. I haven't even heard it on the radio yet, so it's early days (unless radio stations aren't planning on playing it at all, but I doubt that).

Then again, I remember one of her songs from a couple of years ago flopping majorly, and I heard that on the radio a lot, but there was some controversy over it sounding like Halo. This song, I've only heard being compared to Since U Been Gone, and that comparison can only be a good thing!

I heard a new Tinchy Stryder/Pixie Lott song a few hours ago. I think that'll surely be a top 20 hit whenever it gets released. It's so good imo!

Okay, Military Wives are actually holding up very well. God knows how but that seems to be the way it is. I'm preparing to eat my feet now  :(

Paradise nearing #3 now :D Little Mix only have a 1.2% lead.

988. The Game ft. Lil Wayne & Tyler, the Creator - Martians vs. Goblins

:cheer: Didn't think it'd make it back in tbh.

Party Rock Anthem up to #50. Probably re-enter the top 40 next week.

Well obviously - it'll probably be top 20 again, might even go top 10 again. It might sneak a re-entry this week though as it has a second version top 100 :(

@Eric: you heard the Pixie / Tinchy song on the radio?! :o

I can't remember. It would've been either Youtube or the radio, but I've just checked on Youtube, and the song isn't there, so it must've been the radio, and the only radio stations I've listened to today are Radio 1Xtra and Choice FM (London), so I guess one of those. Probably Radio 1Xtra, since they're usually the station that gets to do all the radio premieres for UK rappers.

When I searched on Youtube for the song though, I did find a "Part II" of it from Pixie's album, which is also really good (after the first minute). Pixie's version is like a piano ballad at the start, but has more production added in toward the end, like a faster version of Video Games, or Try With Me. Maybe the new Empire State of Mind?

It would've been the "Part I" which I heard, I guess, since it sounded different to "Part II".

According to the single release diary, Part II is being released on February 20th so I'm quite shocked Part I was played on the radio. I absolutely love Part II, by far the best track on her album! :D

Speaking of Pixie, anyone have any news on the "Kiss the Stars" music video?

There seems to be a music video for it!!! :o :o

But it's Tinchy's next single, so it's not too surprising it's on the radio.

"Tinchy Stryder - Bright ..." This video is no longer available due to a copyright claim by IFPI. :(

Damn. They removed it already. Sorry. :( You'll all just have to trust me that it's a good song (although most of what I think is good isn't liked by the majority of people on here, so maybe not ).

LOL, was Pixie in the video?

Is anyone else surprised that Bowie's 'Jean Genie' hasn't appeared in the iTunes chart, after TOTP2 showed the redidscovered footage of it last night?

Tyler The Creator is a c**t

Not really. Viewers probably weren't that high, and the older generation aren't really into downloading.

I'm happy you don't consider me as part of 'the older generation' ;) - but I was thinking more of sales from those who weren't already Bowie fans...

Constant mass media exposure throughout the week, performances on key TV shows, blanket TV and newspaper coverage about the xmas #1 etc...the people that didn't pre-order it are now starting to hear about it.

Enjoy the taste of your feet :P

IMO it is selling almost entirely because it is a charity record, as its musical merit as a 'pop' single is dubious, to say the least...

I think people are massively overplaying the Giftcard effect, there's no doubt it exists but it's not *that* big.

Last year there was only 5 re-entries into the top 40:

35 42 18 The Saturdays feat. Flo Rida Higher

36 56 44 Tinie Tempah Pass Out

38 45 12 Duck Sauce Barbra Streisand

39 44 18 Olly Murs Please Don't Let Me Go

40 48 13 B.o.B feat. Rivers Cuomo Magic

replacing the 5 seasonal songs which were in the chart, apart from Tinie all ones which were only just outside the top 40 anyway and all of them only got in at the lower end! It was mainly all just natural climbs. It'll obviously be a bit more this year because of the larger amount of seasonal songs in the top 40, but talk of Maroon 5 top 5, LMFAO top 10 and 3 Adele tracks in the top 40 seems a bit far fetched to me. The biggest climbs within the top 40 were for 'Dynamite' and 'Love The Way You Lie', up 10 places from 39 & 37, both of them overtaking the 5 Xmas songs.
