I'm glad MW are gonna get it. It is easily the most Christmas like song released this year.

Agreed, its not an xmas song as such but sounds xmassy and will be reknown as a xmas no1 in a way that Leon Jackson or Shayne Ward will never be imo!

Bieber is out? he was 24 last week and has been top 30 on itunes though....strange it should fall this week of all weeks! :(

I like to know what the midweeks are for my chart, but I guess it would be a bit more exciting. However, I want to know that the Nirvana campaign is failing so would rather have the midweeks this week in particular

Well at the moment it isn't :P But I have a hunch iTunes data is missing today.

Wonder how far the xmas songs could rise by the end of the week, also think the nirvana song will fall from the top 10 by Sunday because when people see the campaign failing to have an impact they may stop supporting it!
Sales from 25 to 31 are yet to be included, in theory another week.

If so I think MW are bound to get into the top-10 then. :( I hoped at least for this year we won't have a charity/XF-winner single in the year-end top-10.

About 100-120k for Little Mix this week too.

Regarding these two acts it all depends on how many people will buy their physicals. Saturday might be the crucial day.

If its anything like the "Bird Is The Word" campaign last year, they won't stop - they're blind to a lot of things, they'll think they're still in with a chance or the OCC/MW/Buzzjack are posting false sales information, probably because all 3 of us are being paid to do so by Cowell who himself will "no doubt" be cashing in on the MW sales in some twisted logic.

We all knew that Leona was going to fall dramatically this week. I don't care about its chart run - I'm just glad 'Hurt' went top 10 in the first place.

So to clarify, sales for next week WON'T be included in the year-end chart?

No, they will.

Leona Lewis could be #40 once you take the b-side out of the equation, clutching at straws here :teresa:
Six is between six and ten.

I usually ignore the B-sides as they usually disappear the next day, so technically Nirvana is #5.

Sorry I should have phrased that better, on the update it says "Top 10", so how are we to know that Nirvana is at #6. If the B-side wasn't there whats to say Nirvana aren't at #6/7/8/9 and not #5?

Must have hurt falling like that, pardon the pun -_-

Don't you think it misrepresents the public taste when Leona can go on two TV shows and get a top 10 hit when someone else hangs around the chart for ages, probably ramps up more sales but never gets that prestigious top 10 single?

That niggles me.

Ouch at Leona. Is this the only top ten hit to only spend 1 week in the top 40 (I know there's Wet Wet Wet 'Weightless' that crashed 10-75-OUT) but are there any other obvious ones I forgot about?

Wasn't there a song, I think Family Guy related  from last years top 10 Xmas chart that stayed only 1 week inside the top 40?

Intrigued by the Paul Mealor song A Spotless Rose. Is this something to do with the MWC and do I take it that this will chart independantly of the MWC single?

They don't. I told them that Nirvana is between #6-10 and they said "I would rather believe the official midweeks tomorrow".

Lana Del Rey DID go top 10 though....

Ooo they were too fast for you there!

Isn't is the said Bird Is The Word trash song?

To Clarify AGAIN, the song currently at No 3 WILL probably be excluded on tomorrow's mids as it's a B-side so everything below it WILL probably move up one! (This has been explained several times before in the thread).
