I bought Stronger by Kelly Clarkson - which is brilliant btw. I bought the special edition, but I wanted to know what extra's I was getting so I have rooted around for the normal edition and I can't find it anywhere to compare the track listing.

Is there one and I am just being stupid or is it only the "special edition that's available? If so, is there some kind of chart benefit from having a special edition out first? I can't think of anything (except from a marketing angle), but I've not encountered this before as the other special editions I have bought have versions available with fewer tracks.

End of stupid questions for today.

As far as I'm aware, the UK only received the special edition so the standard edition is unavailable. Not sure on the track listings though. If you visit the Stronger thread in the Pop Forum, that might be of more help! :)
Both versions of the album are available in the UK. The standard edition contains 13 tracks while the deluxe/special edition has 17 tracks.
I've only seen a Deluxe version available in the UK, not come across a standard. Standard certainly not available online here.

So I am not getting the point of the special edition in this case. Surely they have been created to release after the standard edition, or at the same time - yes for people who want more tracks - but I always thought the main reason was to get multiple sales from fanbases desperate to have copies of all releases to generate inflated chart positions or extend chart runs.
I think it's just to make it sound "more special", just a tactic to make a buyer think it's a bargain. Britney's Femme Fatale was only released in its Deluxe form in the UK too, no standard.
