The (awful) new JLS single will likely go Top 40 with it's physical release next week, still flopping pretty badly though!

So the only people in the top 10 that didn't write their own lyrics are Little Mix, Military Wives and Rihanna.

I'm pretty sure Rihanna (or Robyn Fenty rather) was involved in the writing for You da One. Well, she's credited! (Though the lyrics aren't the best)

I really want Coldplay to be #1 this week, I've just bought their album and love it, particularly Paradise :D

She would've been just a co-writer though. All the others were the primary writers of their lyrics, and write all their songs (with the exception of Olly Murs, whilst I included him because he was the main writer of his song that's in the top 10, he doesn't have any writing credits at all on Heart Skips a Beat (Preston from the Ordinary Boys (I remember him being on Big Brother quite some time ago! :o) wrote the verses and Rizzle Kicks wrote the bridge)).

That new jls single is terrible....thats why its flopping!
has get back climbed? :)

#132

It's unfrozen!!!

1 Coldplay - Paradise 1.0000

2 Flo Rida - Good Feeling 0.5901

8 Military Wives, Gareth Malone & London Metropolitan Orc... 0.3421

what do you say about MW psychical this week? it's only selling 0.3 than Coldplay on ITUNES!

Glad to see the iTunes T1000 has finally woken up from its Xmas nap - even *I* don't take two days to sleep off the effects of Christmas...

FINALLY the top 1000 has updated!

Since ao many people have asked about Pixie Lott's song, it's currently not in the top 1000 yet (although no need to worry, since One Direction have 6 album tracks and 2 B-Sides in the top 1000 :)).

353. Kelly Rowland - Lay It On Me

420. 50 Cent - In Da Club

461. Eminem - Won't Back Down - This is usually higher on iTunes than No Love now :drama:

500. Glee Cast - Rumour Has It/Someone Like You

608. JLS - The Club is Alive

653. The Wanted - Heart Vacancy

660. Flo Rida - Turn Around (5,4,3,2,1) - Fantastic longevity for a song that missed the top 40!!!

779. 50 Cent - Candy Shop

904. Ludacris - Get Back - Strange that a Ludacris album track from 2004 is in the top 1000

943. LMFAO - I'm In Miami Girl - Anyone remember this? Back before LMFAO were household names

971. Akon - Beautiful

Sorry but why is Paradise doing so well? I have no problem with it, it's just very strange.

Because people are finally seeing how amazing it is? :D

Massive lead :o Maybe it could sell more this week than it did the week after XF?

(Now iTunes seems to be working properly again I will resume posting top 100 updates today :D But first I need to type up the updates for the last 6 days :drama:)

The top version of Fairytale Of New York is still as high as #108, second version at #145 - perhaps it could actually seal another week in the top 100 this week?

'Mistletoe' annoyingly seems to be sticking around, still at #40 :( But I'd prefer that to be top 40 than 'Chasing Cars' which is now up to #36 :drama:

They performed it on X Factor, it's 59p, and people like the song.

It's still #1 physical CD on Amazon though (bigger than any albums): http://www.amazon.co.uk/Bestsellers-Music/...2EXA30250HSDZKZ

People didn't like it 2 months ago :P

Yes they did :P It just hadn't had as much exposure and had more competition in the charts. Personally I'm really glad that it finally looks like it could do the business this week or next.

That would be a turn up for the books. It worked for 'Bad Romance' when it sold 76k thanks to the iTunes gift card effect whilst selling 72k off the back of a high profile X Factor performance.

Oh, and I'm hoping you'll be changing your username from Coldbray to Lana Del Bray in 2012. :D

People might not have known the song 2 months ago. Or it could be a grower for a lot of the public. Lots of songs climb the charts.

420K! it's a MASSIVE hit... it will sell at least 650-700K.

Just reading the Rihanna/JLS discussion, thought I'd chip in. The 'Hard' release was messed up big time, the video enabled it to peak at #42 with minimal airplay, but then they changed their mind to 'Rude Boy' and forgot about it. However, when the release was confirmed, it was rushed and it only managed to climb back to something like #76; it's a different situation entirely to JLS - they'd released the video with the intention of releasing it as a single in the UK.

Once the 'gift card' songs fall out of the top 40 - I reckon it'll sneak in, I'm just hoping it doesn't touch the top 10. Strange to think that their album releases generally do better though, although peak lower. I'm sure it'll sell more than 'Take a Chance On Me' in the long run, just as Nero's 'Crush On You' spent more weeks in the top 100 than 'Promises', the #1 hit did.

I know. I'm just secretly annoyed that it'll outsell the perfection known as Viva la Vida.

I do hope DYFWIF? makes at least the top 40 - liek Jack I think it's their best single to date so it's a shame to see it doing so badly.

 As if! Beat again is alot better. DYFWIF is rubbish and the sample from the cheesy song in Gremlins is cringeworthy. I'm glad it's flopping, maybe now they'll stop doing what they did with The Club is alive, incorporating strange samples. 3D would have been a decent hit for them, they should have released that.

Not liking the hate for Heart Vacancy, it's their 2nd best single behind Glad You Came :( It is very soppy, generic and perhaps dull though, I'm not even sure why I like it!

Maybe you're a Bucks Fizz fan, it's a rip off of The land of make believe...
