December 27, 201113 yr No, because using the Billboard system, "2011" ends in November, and "2012" has already started, which is why he has the mash-up out before the end of the year. But anyway, he missed out songs like Look At Me Now, which was undeniably a massive hit in 2011, so if he does it from "his view" it will be flawed. As it will be from anybody's view. The biggest hits of 2011 from "my view" are songs like Black and Yellow, etc. because the people I associate with in daily life have all been obsessed with it, but that would be flawed, because a lot of people (e.g. 6 year-old girls) probably never heard that song. He should base it off a chart which works to try and be unbiased and gets data from lots of sources (Billboard bases it off things such as radio airplay, digital and physical sales, VEVO streaming). The entire top 14 of Billboard's year-end was used in the mashup, I think, and #15 wasn't used because it was Just The Way You Are. I can understand why he didn't want to use it again. Below there, he discarded songs lower down the top 25, like Look At Me Now, in favour of the big hits at the tail-end of the year who aren't going to get into Billboard's top end because they were only around for a month or two before the cut-off date, yet still dominate radio in the last few months of the year. Everyone knows We Found Love now, so not to include it would be quite ridiculous from my point of view. Maybe Billboard ends 2011 in November, but the public's still in 2011 for another month.  That was one of my main criticisms of the 2010 one, it felt too biased towards the early hits in the early part of the year.
December 27, 201113 yr LOL...all the mash-ups posted so far, I see segments of Britney's TTWE video....strange.

It was undeniably huge in the US last year. And the only reason it was so "low" in the year-end chart was because its airplay held it down, as it's not generic and radio friendly. It did massive sales digitally. The billboard year-end charts are indeed biased towards the earlier hits of the year, because they include airplay, and they start in December rather than January. So in 2010, you had songs released in Autumn 2009 finishing in the top 10 (e.g. Tik Tok and Bad Romance). And in 2012's year-end chart We Found Love and Sexy and I Know It will both be very high. It makes sense in a way. People will be listening to those songs for the ENTIRE of 2012, whilst We Found Love was only listened to for like 2/3 months of 2011. LOL...all the mash-ups posted so far, I see segments of Britney's TTWE video....strange. The mash-ups are mainly done by Americans. It flopped in the UK because radio didn't play it, but it was a HUGE hit in the US this year. It chart run went: 20-9-23-22-13-8-9-11-3-6-8-7-7-9-12-15-19-24-25-29-32-36-40-48 It's understandable that someone in the US would use it (although DJ Earworm shouldn't have, since it didn't end up in the top 25). December 27, 201113 yr Yeah, it'd probably go; 2009 > 2008 > 2010 > 2011 for me, but I do even like 2011, and still think he is MEGA talented. HcMsGX855zo This is a really good mash-up IMO.Great mash-up! Really enjoyed it and seems to flow a lot better than Earworm's. The lack of 'Super Bass' disgusts me though! :drama:
December 27, 201113 yr ^ So basically Germany had the same charts as the UK this year, except Till the World Ends, Welcome to St. Tropez and Titanium were hits there?
December 27, 201113 yr I still like this quite a lot, the chorus works very well even if the verses aren't quite as good

December 30, 201113 yr TTWE is one of those songs that is so good it makes you wonder why the public didn't see it. I suspect because Britney didn't promote it. I suspect that she'll stop getting these great hits if she doesn't get them the recognition they deserve. Edited December 30, 201113 yr by Paramore
