Why on Earth is Rumer's 'Seasons Of My Soul' #1 on the US iTunes albums feed?! :o

It was released about 4 days ago. Must have been hype about her we didn't know about!

Having 2 albums (std and deluxe) editions in the top 20 is quite amazing, I didn't even kniow she was planning to hit the US. This might mean a top 50 Billboard chart position?

f*** sake @ The Wanted. :o

I hope they get some proper long term success over there. They're my favourite of the three boybands in the UK. I hope they go with 'Lightning' next but it'll probably be 'All Time Low'.

I'm not sure if they'll release All Time Low in the US, because it's extremely old now, and it's not euro-dance enough to be a hit in the US. I think for their 2nd single they'll record new material.
Glad You Came #26 now and Ellie's on the rise. Lights at #89, #236 and #758. The Bassnectar mixes haven't recovered from the weekend but the main version held up better than usual so I expected it to rise today and I've not been disappointed. I am hopeful for it to be top 80 by the end of the week.

Great to see The Wanted still peaking, it dropped from #31 to #33 at some point yesterday so glad to see it back up to #26 now. :D
Jáhq is that Ruslana in your sig?

So does anyone know the reason for Rumer's sudden massive success on the albums chart? Surely she must have performed on a high-profile TV show, I was completely unaware of any hype around her at all outside the UK (and even in the UK there wasn't *that* much) :o

'21' is now back at #1 but Rumer is still #2 and also #31.

Mumford & Sons are STILL at #5 :o This must be up there with the biggest selling digital albums in the USA by now.

I'm not sure about Rumer, but the US album sales are so low (at least at the top of the chart) that you probably wouldn't need much hype to get to #1.
I blame witchcraft.

I suppose so but it's still very odd. (I suppose Adele's success has opened a pathway for other British soul-y females to break through so Rumer's success isn't THAT unexpected in that context, but it just seems a bit sudden and there didn't seem to be any build-up to it at all).

I remember when Rumer had a song get in the singles chart in the UK, and we all found it really weird, how toned down and slow it was. It would probably just seem quite normal if it charted now.
She's been doing a series of concerts in the US but when I was tracking it, it didn't seem any different than Ellie Goulding's, or Eliza Doolittle's. So I really didn't expect such a high new entry on the chart. Low sales or not, it's quite surprising that she's come out of nowhere and in the itunes top 10 for over 24 hours.
I remain surprised at the success of The Wanted, they've really beaten One Direction to the punch here :o It will be interesting to see if a mini British boyband invasion in the US will lead to the format being revived there, I'm almost certain that it will be as boybands haven't been successful in the US for over a decade but clearly there's now a market for a new 'N Sync or Backstreet Boys...

They do have Jonas Brothers and that Big Time Rush one, but not sure how successful they are/will be musically.

The Wanted's success is well deserved, they're music is sooo much better than 1D and JLS imo, and they're not as manufactured!

Sorry, Skrillex in the US iTunes top-100?

Edit: with two songs!

Edit: three songs! One nearing the top-50 aswell. What??
