Guys... What if Rolling in the Deep manages a week at #1 on Billboard because of this?

It's technically #1 right now since Whitney can't re-enter, and it's still on the BBH100 - it's been 57 weeks on the chart. If it re-enters, that would literally astound me (and annoy me, as both fun. and Katy Perry would be getting majorly shafted).

Anyone think it's possible?

I think fun. and Katy Perry both don't have a chance at #1 this week, due to their low airplay, and they're not selling that much. I think it's between Set Fire to the Rain and Stronger. It would be incredible if RITD got back to #1 though! :o But I think it would need to be selling a lot more to make up for the airplay gap between it and SFTTR.

It's a lot like the Superbowl week last year, in terms of how messy the chart is.

Depends on how much airplay RITD has.... but a top 10 placing looks very likely. Adele could have 3 songs in the top 10..... when was the last time a female singer had 3 songs? Was it Whitney and the Bodyguard era?

He's not female, but 50 Cent had 4 songs in the top 10 one week when he was huge apparently.

Yes, SFTTR will probably be #1 on Hot 100 and IWALY will be the best selling song of the week.

Grammy fever won't last until Sunday and I don't think Katy's song will sell enough. It should be well ahead of Adele on iTunes by now to debut at #1.

Is POM from a re-release by the way?

Yes, 'Teenage Dream: The Complete Confection' which I think is scheduled for a March release and includes three new tracks + the remixes she's put out.

How much airplay does Rolling In The Deep have now? It won't be #1 on the Hot 100 but I could definitely see it getting back to #2 unless its airplay has plummetted to just a few million or so.

All 3 of Adele's songs should be in the top 5 or even top 3 this week I reckon! Whitney obviously can't chart with any of her entries and airplay seems to be non-existent for fun. and Coldplay which rules them out of challenging for the top 5 (especially as both are behind all of Adele's entries on iTunes and Coldplay are on a Grammy effect of their own anyway). Kelly Clarkson and Katy Perry will probably be the other 2 in the top 5, Katy might sell enough to chart somewhere in the top 3 I suppose but she's not ahead of Rolling In The Deep on sales yet and Someone Like You still has over 50 million AI. Kelly should make up the last place in the top 5 but all 3 Adele songs are outselling her, RITD is a LONG way ahead which probably makes up for the airplay gap, SFTTR is ahead on both sales and airplay and SLY's airplay isn't really that far behind Kelly's. The next biggest challenger is probably LMFAO and they're WAY behind Adele on sales.

So maybe the top 3 is a bit too much to hope for (especially if SFTTR/SLY fall quite a lot over the week) but I definitely think she has 3 of the top 5 in the bag this week :o

In other news...

This song is REALLY average :(

Starships by Nicki Minaj is out now right? Is that anywhere to be seen?

Also Glee are covering I Will ALways Love You tonight (it fits with the story and was always planned, it's just a coincidence the ep airs just days after Whitney's death), I think that could get top 3. In fact it may well end up as an all IWALY top 2 :o Unlikely but it could happen!

That could be another boost for the original version of IWALY then - it could be heading for one of the highest one-week digital tallies ever at this rate! (And yet it's not allowed to chart on the Hot 100 where it'd easily be back at #1 most likely).

The Glee version of IWALY won't trouble the Billboard top 5 either, carrying on from my earlier post about Adele potentially having all of the top 3. It might go top 10 though.

 2. Part of Me - Katy Perry

This does seem to be getting airplay really quickly - so now it's ahead of Rolling In The Deep on sales and will probably overtake on airplay (especially as we've got an airplay figure for RITD now, a bit over 25m while Katy has opened with 12m) I'm going to predict Katy will enter the Hot 100 at #2. SFTTR #1, RITD #3 and then SLY and Kelly battling for #4 depending on how close they are in sales later in the week. I still think Adele is pretty set for three out of the top five whatever happens.

One Direction in the top 100 already. Hmph. More power to British acts I guess but can we send over some better ones please :P
God, What Makes You Beautiful isn't even sent to radio for another 2 weeks (the same day that Queen Carrie Underwood's is, Good Girl will CLEARLY blitz it to number 1). I joke of course, but I can dream :P

So was it released today? I wasn't aware but since the pop bars update above it's climbed from #96 to #87 with no promo, keep going and make the Hot 100 next week please. :D

edit; already climbed to #82

:o Foo Fighters at #26, should easily get a new peak with "Walk" then since it's only previously reached the heady heights of #83.
