I was listening to Moment 4 Life today actually. I still love it. I'll never get bored of that beat. It's so catchy, and quite unique imo.

At #130 we have 'Loca People', a big European hit during the Summer which became big through the use of the line "what the f***". Liked it at one time, despise it now. 'How We Roll', a very generic song that most people on here couldn't give a crap about is at #129 but I personally LOVE it, very catchy. 'Shake It Out', the first proper single from 2nd album 'Ceremonials' comes up at quite a good position given it's peak (which should've been at least top 10). The 5th(?) single from 'Who You Are', 'Who You Are', is next and it's now my least favourite Jessie single, I now understand what people mean about the vocals. Finishing us off is 'Go' which does very well here to say it didn't even go top 15, thanks to sticking around for a good while. I think it's a very average song really, not something I'd listen to out of choice.

Nero make another appearance at #125 with their first hit 'Me And You'. Personally I think it's their weakest single to date but I still really like it. It comes in ahead of their #1 hit 'Promises', but they still have one more song to come. Jay-Z and Kanye West are at #124 with 'Otis', the biggest hit off their collaborative 'Watch The Throne' album. The song samples Otis Redding's recording of 'Try A Little Tenderness' and he gets a featured credit as well as the song being named after him. Gym Class Heroes' 'Stereo Hearts' off upcoming fifth album 'The Papercut Chronicles II' is at #123, featuring Adam Levine from Maroon 5 (but despite that it's not that bad, although I'm still glad it didn't become Travie & co.'s highest peaking single). Kelly Clarkson's best single to date is at #122. 'Mr. Know It All' is a clear ripoff of Bruno Mars' 'Just The Way You Are' but it still easily beats Kelly's entire career beforehand. And finally we have another old song at #121. Goo Goo Dolls' 'Iris' originally peaked at #50 in 1998, then #26 when re-released in 1999, but it got a peak far more representative of its classic status (#3) in 2011 after being performed on the X Factor by Frankie Cocozza.

I take objection to your statement that Katy B's only good song is Broken Record. It is her only good lead artist single, Magnetic Man ft Katy B- Perfect Stranger is also very good.
It really is shocking that 2 of the 5 worst songs ever managed to be hits again - Wherever You Will Go and Iris. Bad times.

Bré does not endorse Jack's comments. Katy On A Mission, Perfect Stranger and Broken Record are all brilliant, Lights On and Easy Please Me are also quite good.

The worst song ever is quite persistent in being a hit again. Didn't quite make the top 200 for 2011 but if it keeps being reduced to 59p it may well do so for the 2012 list <_<

I love this countdown, BUT i seriously doubt your musical taste if you think 'Mr Know It All' is much better than anything Kelly C has done before.....

Yeah I'll let you have that as it's alright too.

I do not endorse Bray's comments. 'Mr Know It All' wouldn't even make a Kelly Clarkson top 5.

Professor Green's first #1 single starts us off here and even though it sold about 153k first week it didn't stick around in the upper reaches of the chart for long sadly. 'Unorthodox', the worst single from Wretch 32 (partly down to the sample) comes in just a few points in front. 'Hold It Against Me', the first single from 'Femme Fatale' does quite well to say it's seen as a bit of a flop. Almost on air/on sale, #6 isn't quite the peak we'd have hoped for but the idea that the release would 'crash iTunes' was always ridiculous. Ed Sheeran's most bearable single, the second to be taken from #1 album '+', finishes a bit short of the top 115. The second Britney song of the section, the 2nd single from 'Femme Fatale' which got a brilliant remix featuring Ke$ha & Nicki Minaj, manages to do WELL here imo, given that it didn't even go top 20 officially but has managed to beat out her other charted single from the era and three songs that all went top 5.

'Unorthodox', the worst single from Wretch 32 (partly down to the sample) comes in just a few points in front.

Implying that Wretch 32 > Stone Roses?

No?

Implying that the use of the sample in the song is awful and partly whilst the track is awful (imo, whether I'm a fan of the original or the band or not). For the record I don't mind Fools Gold.

I'm certainly not a Wretch 32 fan either, 'Forgiveness' is the only track of his that I'd listen to out of choice.

Ah, sorry. Just the way you phrased it then

Me and You - Otis - Stereo Hearts - Mr. Know It All - Iris is a pretty good run of songs!

115. Avril Lavigne - What The Hell

111. Tinie Tempah feat. Eric Turner - Written In The Stars

Peak; #25 (during 2011)

Avril Lavigne's 'What The Hell' is at #115. It was a decent sized hit but 'Goodbye Lullaby' was by far her least successful era in the UK, her first album to miss #1 (making #9) and also her first to not produce any top 10 hits ('What The Hell' was also its only top 100 hit). The only Nicole Scherzinger song to date, including Pussycat Dolls, to miss the UK top 20 was 'Wet', the fourth single off her solo breakthrough album 'Killer Love'. It peaked at #21 and comes 114th here. Shame as it's easily Nicole's best solo single IMO. Lana Del Rey's lovely debut single 'Video Games' comes in at #113 here - expect her to be big in 2012. 'Cheers (Drink To That)' didn't quite become a fifth top 10 hit from Rihanna's 'Loud' era but did become a bajillionth top 20 hit for the Barbadian songstress and comes 112th on this countdown. Believe it or not she has 8 entries still to come. Finally, Tinie Tempah's second UK #1 from 2010, 'Written In The Stars' featuring Eric Turner, is at number 111. The song became a minor top 20 success across the pond in 2011, selling a million digital copies over in the USA, pretty much a first for the UK rap crop.

Those 10 recent songs aren't bad. Wet is the only awful one (kick kick kick kick...BORING, heard it all before).

To be fair, Till the World Ends probably would've crashed iTunes if it was the lead single. I happened to be listening to the remix about half an hour ago. Massive. :D

Written in the Stars did well in 2011!!! :o :o

110. Cher Lloyd - Swagger Jagger

106. Wretch 32 feat. Josh Kumra - Don't Go

Peak; #1

Weeks; 13

Marmite track of the year 'Swagger Jagger', first single from 'Sticks & Stones', starts off this section and I don't think this position is too bad considering it's initial chart run and the amount of hate it got. I don't know about marmite but I love this. Tinie Tempah appears to do very well here (well, even better than Britney) to say this single from the deluxe edition of 'Disc-Overy' only just made the top 25. 'Fly', some single from Nicki's debut album 'Pink Friday' and featuring American superstar Rihanna, also does well having missed the top 15. I personally love it and am surprised it didn't go even higher officially given the artists and it's not like the album sold loads either. Bray's favourite song of 2011 and the first #1 of 2012, 'Paradise', comes short of the top 100 and can owe that to not being allowed to chart before the release of 'Mylo Xyloto'. Damn OCC. Wretch 32 joins us again to finish off this section, this time with a slightly better song, his 3rd single of the year.

Another good selection of songs. Fly is a bit boring but tolerable, Paradise is good for a Coldplay song, Swagger Jagger, I do quite like if I'm honest, Till I'm Gone and Don't Go = AMAZING.

105. The Saturdays - Notorious

Peak; #15

Weeks; 14

Points; 846

101. Labrinth feat. Tinie Tempah - Earthquake

Peak; #2

Weeks; 9

Points; 847

The Saturdays are at #105 with their foray into OA/OS, 'Notorious'. The song only just reached the top 10 (and in its first week, against the spirit of on air/on sale) but had a fairly decent chart run after that, so it finishes higher than the follow-up top 3 hit. James Morrison's 'I Won't Let You Go' is #104, a perhaps surprisingly big hit which led to a second #1 album for James with third release 'The Awakening'. I'll always love this song even if no one else does. Follow-up single 'Up' has underperformed, peaking thus far at #30, despite featuring Jessie J. Speaking of Jessie (segue, segue), she's at #103 with 'Who's Laughing Now', the fourth single from her debut album 'Who You Are' and so far her only single to miss the top 10. One of Romania's (and label AATW's) bigger musical exports Inna comes in at #102 with 'Sun Is Up', an unexpected third top 15 hit for her, although she now seems to have joined the flop pile for good. And just missing out on the top 100 is Labrinth's brilliant 'Earthquake' featuring Tinie Tempah. It's the highest placed song on the list whose weeks figure is in the single digits.

There we go, halfway through already :P Into the top 100 tomorrow (hopefully!)

100. Wretch 32 feat. L - Traktor

96. Swedish House Mafia - Save The World

Peak; #10

Weeks; 14

Points; 890

Just making the top 100 is a song which just manages to avoid being awful, 'Traktor', the first single from Wretch 32's album 'Black and White' and the lowest peaking of his three pre-album singles. 'No Regrets', the debut solo single from N-Dubz frontman Dappy is next and it turns out that this track is a lot better than most of the material he released with the band. In the centre of this section is 'Like A G6', a worldwide hit for Far East Movement who haven't managed to do much since but it did help introduce us to DEV. The debut single from America's Got Talent contestant Alexis Jordan, 'Happiness', is another track to do quite well, making the top 100 even with the #20 peak it managed in 2011. 'Save The World', the follow-up to 'One' & 'Miami 2 Ibiza', finishes us off here and personally it's my favourite track from Swedish House Mafia so it's a shame it peaked lower than the two earlier mentioned tracks.
