The song that some of us never liked - even the first time we heard it.

Enrique kick starts this group with the 6th official worldwide single from his album 'Euphoria', with the Lil Wayne mix released back in May, which just missed the top 20 (poor Lil Wayne, never gets much UK success). 'Broken Record' is the 3rd single from Katy B's album 'On A Mission' and is the only good song that she has done to date. Cher Lloyd's 2nd single, 'With Ur Love', from debut album 'Sticks & Stones', comes in the middle of this pack and I personally love it. Templecloud's cover of 'One Big Family' was released back in May and if I remember correctly it was used in an advert, though I can't say I care for this song at all. Finishing off this below average group is a below average song, Mann's 2nd single 'The Mack' and all I can really say is that it falls very short of the great 'Buzzin'.

Arctic Monkeys come in at #175 with their bizarrely titled 'Don't Sit Down 'Cause I've Moved Your Chair', the first single from their fourth album 'Suck It And See'. Arctic Monkeys' career has been very much tainted by diminishing returns and this is by some distance their worst performing lead single and the album has also been their lowest selling. The first of four entries in the top 200 to refer to rain in their title is 'Let It Rain', the surprisingly successful Tinchy Stryder track from his third album 'Third Strike', featuring flopstar Melanie Fiona. Cee Lo Green's forgettable second solo single since his breakthrough away from Gnarls Barkley comes in at #173, with 'F**k You!' actually finishing ahead. Eminem took a break of some nine months between the releases of the third and fourth singles from his 'Recovery' album. The latter release 'Space Bound' appears at #172. And closing off this section is Snow Patrol with my personal favourite of theirs, 'Called Out In The Dark', the lead single off sixth album 'Fallen Empires'. Thankfully 'Chasing Cars' doesn't quite manage to join the top 200 with it, finishing 205th.

I think Let It Rain performing reasonably well surprised everyone. Especially after In My System, Second Chance and the album all bombed compared to the massive seccess he had with the Catch 22 era.

I know Spaceship done ok-ish; but I think all signs are pointing to a permanent return to flopsville for poor Tinchy. :(

166. Olly Murs - Dance With Me Tonight

Avicii's second entry lands at #170 and although 'Levels' did much better in the UK, unfortunately for him so did 'Good Feeling' compared to 'Collide'. Lady GaGa pops in at #169 with 'Marry The Night', the 5th single from 'Born This Way' and her longest video yet. Although not her best song I feel that it should've done better in the UK, being one of the more commercial songs on the album. 'Kidz', the 2nd single from Take That's million selling album 'Progress' is next and I personally prefer it to 'The Flood' so it's a shame it couldn't get a better peak. Katy B bothers us again and I can't even remember how this one goes, I just know it's as crap as her other singles. The first UK #1 single (of 2011) to appear is 'Dance With Me Tonight', the 2nd single from 'In Case You Didn't Know', which happened to be a climber for X Factor runner up Olly. Not as good as the first single but still a very decent tune.

161. Drake feat. Rihanna - Take Care

Peak; #9

Weeks; 6

Usher is at #165 with 'More', the third UK hit from his 'Raymond V Raymond' era (including the EP 'Versus', released here only in conjunction with the original album to inflate sales, copying the trick best done by Lady Gaga). The video above is for the RedOne Jimmy Joker remix - which I think is much, much better than the original - but this remix actually sold only a small fraction of the track's sales despite being the version getting airplay. The original was always far more popular. 'Fix You' is another old song appearing in this countdown, alongside 'Bring Me To Life' and a few others still to come. The brilliant 2005 #4 hit by Coldplay frustratingly missed out on a return to the top 40 after getting there in the midweek updates on no less than three separate occasions during the year. Another member of the Smith family, sister of Jaden and daughter of Will & Jada Pinkett, appears at #163. Willow's 'Whip My Hair' thankfully missed out on being a #1 in 2010. Sean Paul's first UK top 20 hit since 2006, 'Got 2 Luv U' featuring Alexis Jordan, is at #162. Canadian rapper Drake got his biggest UK hit to date with the title track of his second album 'Take Care' on the week of the album's release, despite the song having received little to no airplay or promotion. Just the power of a Rihanna feature I suppose. 'Take Care' lands at #161 after spending the last six weeks of 2011 in the top 20.

157. Tinchy Stryder feat. Dappy - Spaceship

Peak; #5

Weeks; 9

Points; 549

156. Benny Benassi feat. Gary Go - Cinema

Peak; #20

Weeks; 14

Points; 551

The really good 'Rain Over Me' starts this section. The follow up to #1 smash 'Give Me Everything' failed to do much in the UK, but it seems more impressive when compared to what comes next. Nero's #1 'smash' 'Promises' only manages to achieve the same number of points as a song that peaked at #28! Nelly's surprise hit from 2010 manages to make it in at #158. Tinchy's collab with Dappy falls short of the 150 mark and deservedly so, a much lower quality than the Tinchy/N-Dubz collab 'Number One' in my opinion. Finishing us off is 'Cinema' from Benny Benassi, who got together with Chris Brown on 'Beautiful People'. Although not as good as the mentioned track, 'Cinema' is still PRETTY GOOD and a higher peak would've been nice.

I don't even remember Rain Over Me. :( The other 4 are pretty good. Just A Dream and Spaceship are fair average though, I guess...
Not a fan of the original "Cinema", the Skrillex remix is so much better and gives the song that edge the original doesn't have. Not good to see Nero down so low, I wish it had more longevity as the quality of the song is not what the chart run suggests. I also don't like 'Spaceship', or anything released by Tinchy Stryder in 2010-11 , 'Game Over' aside. And that Pitbull song really deserved to flop, so terribly generic

155. McFly feat. Taio Cruz - Shine A Light

151. LMFAO feat. Natalia Kills - Champagne Showers

Peak; #32

Weeks; 12

Points; 592

McFly's surprisingly long-lived and high-selling 2010 hit 'Shine A Light' featuring Taio Cruz comes in at #155 for 2011. Bruno Mars scored three UK #1 hits (and two further top 20 hits, one of which wasn't even a single) off his debut album 'Doo-Wops & Hooligans', but for some reason this massive success hasn't quite transferred to his latest release. 'It Will Rain' isn't on the album, being recorded specifically for the soundtrack to the film 'The Twilight Saga - Breaking Dawn, Pt. 1', but still failed to go any higher than #14. For me it's his best song to date so I'm disappointed with the relative failure of it. Olly Murs' second single 'Thinking Of Me' comes in at #153. Oddly for an X Factor act Olly seems to have become bigger with his second album. Avicii's second thief, Flo Rida, is at #152 with 'Good Feeling' which samples 'Levels' but was actually released a week earlier and has sold far more overall. Flo Rida's 2011 chart run was 2-3-4-5-6-7. The trend, however, was bucked in the first week of 2012 when it climbed back to #3 and the song is likely to re-peak and finally become a UK #1 in its eighth week in the top 10 this coming Sunday. Finally, LMFAO's horrendous noise 'Champagne Showers' featuring Natalia Kills is at #151, thankfully being hugely outperformed by the follow-up single 'Sexy And I Know It'. Natalia has been trying and failing to make a commercial breakthrough for some time now - although a little known fact is that she already did back in 2005, scoring a #11 hit with 'Don't Play Nice' under the alias of Verbalicious.

OH HAI. This has come out of nowhere, and you're doing well already! Surprising how long Champagne Showers stuck around for. And nice to see Got 2 Luv U make it in quite comfortably.

Nothing more for now, but there was a higher points threshold for the #200 in 2010, wasn't there? That's the faster moving chart, I guess, well, in terms of the smaller hits.

Yes, the 2010 top 200 threshold was 415, but for 2011 it's only 381. Odd considering there were fewer top 100 hits in total in 2011 than 2010. (The top 100 threshold is higher for 2011 though).

Also interesting to note is The Pogues at #196 for 2011 actually had a lower score than they did in 2010, but they only came 203rd then.

146. Taio Cruz - Dynamite

Peak; #29 (during 2011)

Mike Posner's 2010 hit, 'Cooler Than Me', edges into the top 150 and so far he seems to be a one hit wonder (unless you count 'With Ur Love', if you can call that a 'hit'). The first single from the 'Progress' re-release appears next and it's another very good track from Take That, possibly my favourite of the era. Let's move on quickly from 'Badman Riddim' which charted back in June, an awful awful track. The 2011 Comic Relief single from The Wanted, 'Gold Forever', maks an appearance and it didn't fair great compared to their other stuff but hey, it was for charity and only tacked onto the end of the second album. Taio Cruz finishes us off with his 2010 Summer smash 'Dynamite' which first became a massive hit in the US, and he still manages to make the top 150 this year despite getting no higher than #29.

141. Chase & Status feat. Delilah - Time

Peak; #21

Weeks; 14

Points; 647

The first single from Take That's 'Progress' era, 'The Flood', is at #145, outperforming 'Love Love' despite being released in 2010. Tinie Tempah's worst single 'Invincible' featuring Kelly Rowland is at #144. Thankfully the much better 'Wonderman' did a lot better (although it peaked a place lower). Another old song is at #143 - The Calling's 'Wherever You Will Go', a 2002 #3 hit. The song went back up as high as number 16 in 2011 thanks to a price reduction to 59p on iTunes and a cover version by Charlene Soraia being used on a Twinings advert (her version is still to come). The Saturdays' 'All Fired Up', the second single off fourth album 'On Your Radar', is at #142. It was a tenth top 10 hit for the girl group but they're still trying for that elusive #1, although one would think they've missed their chance now as follow-up single 'My Heart Takes Over' bombed as did the album, plus there's now some competition in the girlband market courtesy of Little Mix. Finally, Chase & Status' 'Time', the fifth single from their breakthrough second album 'No More Idols', is at #141. The song features vocals from then-unknown Delilah who went on to have a decent sized hit of her own with 'Go'.

136. Sean Kingston - Party All Night (Sleep All Day)

Peak; #9

Weeks; 10

Points; 669

The fourth single from 'Born This Way' starts us off here and it's peak shows that something just hasn't quite worked out for Gaga this time in the UK compared to The Fame era. I personally loved it at the time of release but it got very old with increased airplay. The opposite happened with 'The One That Got Away', the sixth single from 2010s 'Teenage Dream', which I wasn't keen on but have grown to like and managing a top 20 for a sixth single with no re-release seems quite impressive for Katy. Example's second #1 of the year, 'Stay Awake', taken from #1 album 'Playing In The Shadows', only makes #138 as it didn't take too long to depart the chart. 'It Girl', the second single from 'Future History', makes it in at #137. Personally I find it to be very generic and a huge step down from the first album. Completing this group of songs is 'Party All Night (Sleep All Day)' which became a surprise top 10 single after being used in the box office smash movie 'The Inbetweeners'.

199. Swedish House Mafia vs. Tinie Tempah - Miami 2 Ibiza

197. Lucenzo and Qwote feat. Pitbull and Don Omar - Danza Kuduro (Throw Your Hands Up)

195. Beyoncé - Love On Top

194. Justin Bieber feat. Jaden Smith - Never Say Never

192. Jason Derülo - Fight For You

191. Evanescence - Bring Me To Life

190. Ke$ha - Blow

189. Kelly Rowlands feat. The WAV.s - Down For Whatever

188. Nicki Minaj - Girls Fall Like Dominoes

187. Cheryl Cole - The Flood

185. The Black Eyed Peas - I Gotta Feeling

182. Nicole Scherzinger - Poison

181. Leona Lewis and Avicii - Collide

180. Enrique Iglesias and Usher feat. Lil Wayne - Dirty Dancer

179. Katy B - Broken Record

178. Cher Lloyd feat. Mike Posner - With Ur Love

173. Cee Lo Green - It's OK

169. Lady GaGa - Marry The Night

165. Usher - More

162. Sean Paul feat. Alexis Jordan - Got 2 Luv U

160. Pitbull feat. Marc Anthony - Rain Over Me

158. Nelly - Just A Dream

152. Flo Rida - Good Feeling

151. LMFAO feat. Natalia Kills - Champagne Showers

150. Mike Posner - Cooler Than Me

146. Taio Cruz - Dynamite

144. Tinie Tempah feat. Kelly Rowland - Invincible

142. The Saturdays - All Fired Up

137. Jason DeRülo - It Girl

136. Sean Kingston - Party All Night (Sleep All Day)

All of those songs above are all amazing minus It Girl, I liked the song but it wasn't a fav of mine that is for sure. Keep up the hard work, looking forward to the rest of the chart.

Noel Gallagher's first post-Oasis single with new band Noel Gallagher's High Flying Birds was 'The Death Of You And Me' which went top 15 and vanished - par for the course you'd expect for a post-Oasis Oasis single. Second single 'AKA... What A Life!' however had a surprisingly impressive chart run and finishes 135th here. The Wanted's boring third 'Battleground' single 'Lightning' shows up at #134, the song thankfully didn't get the band a third number one single as expected, with JLS and One Direction going on to do the same with their XF-season 2011 ballad singles. Nicki Minaj struggled to get UK success with her first few singles but finally scored a hit with 'Moment 4 Life' featuring fellow Young Money rapper Drake, which is #133 for the year. 2010 X Factor winner Matt Cardle comes in at #132 with his winner's single 'When We Collide' - his first post-show single 'Run For Your Life' performed appallingly however, trailing in 260th here. Finally, Tinie Tempah's breakout monster hit 'Pass Out' (2nd in the 2010 rundown) holds on to a placing at #131.
