Posted January 2, 201213 yr Good afternoon all, I hope you've all had a very happy new year. This past week you've all been voting for your favourite UK #1 single of 2011 and the results have now arrived to take place over the next two or three days. They shall begin very shortly but here is a reminder of the tracks so you can start predicting. Rihanna feat. Drake - What's My Name? Bruno Mars - Grenade Ke$ha - We R Who We R Jessie J feat. B.o.B - Price Tag Adele - Someone Like You Nicole Scherzinger - Don't Hold Your Breath Jennifer Lopez feat. Pitbull - On The Floor LMFAO feat. Lauren Bennett & GoonRock - Party Rock Anthem Bruno Mars - The Lazy Song Pitbull feat. Ne-Yo, Afrojack & Nayer - Give Me Everything Example - Changed The Way You Kiss Me Jason DeRulo - Don't Wanna Go Home DJ Fresh feat. Sian Evans - Louder The Wanted - Glad You Came JLS feat. Dev - She Makes Me Wanna Cher Lloyd - Swagger Jagger Nero - Promises Wretch 32 feat. Josh Kumra - Don't Go Olly Murs feat. Rizzle Kicks - Heart Skips A Beat Example - Stay Awake Pixie Lott - All About Tonight One Direction - What Makes You Beautiful Dappy - No Regrets Sak Noel - Loca People Rihanna feat. Calvin Harris - We Found Love Professor Green feat. Emeli Sandé - Read All About It The X Factor Finalists 2011 feat. JLS & One Direction - Wishing On A Star Olly Murs - Dance With Me Tonight Little Mix - Cannonball Military Wives with Gareth Malone - Wherever You Are I can reveal that 69 (!!!) people voted in total, so thank you for the impressive turnout. This year's loser scored better than 'Shout' from last year and this year's top 4 all scored better than 'Only Girl (In The World)' which won last year.
January 2, 201213 yr I can reveal that 69 (!!!) people voted in total, so thank you for the impressive turnout. This year's loser scored better than 'Shout' from last year and this year's top 4 all scored better than 'Only Girl (In The World)' which won last year. I thought Telephone won this last year. I could be wrong though, there was lots of different games and I get mixed up. I think We Found Love will win this year, although I'm hoping What's My Name? will.
January 2, 201213 yr Author Eric, last year it was a Only Girl, Telephone, California Gurls top 3 in that exact order, don't think I didn't check whilst preparing. :P 30 / The X Factor Finalists 2011 feat. JLS & One Direction / 150 POINTS 2011 Chart run; 1-2-17-48 [4wks] mU4xeswnHyI Gathering quite a few -10s and only one score above 30 (120 from SceneOfSixCrimes), the effort from the latest group of X Factor Finalists was comfortably last and deservedly so in my opinion as I think it's the worst one yet, so we can all be thankful that it got just the one week at #1. 29 / Jason DeRulo - Don't Wanna Go Home / 470 POINTS 200 Chart run; 1-1-5-6-7-15-23-27-41-46-60-70-88-83-90-92 [16wks] 2CGF_Z3yZAo Another one that picked up a few -10s and got a highest score of 100 is the lead single from Jason's latest album 'Future History'. Another awful track, terrible use of sample and a big step down from his first album which I quite enjoy. Still surprised that this actually got TWO weeks at #1 (although it always is his tracks that get the #1). Personally I think 'Fight For You' is much better.
January 2, 201213 yr Firework came 3rd in the competition I was thinking of, and I realized it didn't get to #1. :drama: Sorry. It might've been the "Record of the Year" game I was thinking of. Good to see Jason Derulo low with that "song". I think it's even worse than the X Factor Finalists, personally. Edited January 2, 201213 yr by Eric_Blob
January 2, 201213 yr Author 28 / JLS feat. Dev - She Makes Me Wanna / 660 POINTS 2011 Chart run; 1-2-2-9-14-16-16-25-38-48-62-79-91-x-90-63-90-x-82 [17wks] FuwTgZOKcf8 Poor old JLS, both of their entries finishing in the bottom 3. :( Well not really as the both deserve it, this is personally my least favourite single from them this era and the worst of the boyband #1s of 2011. It got some -10s and the most it got were a couple of 80s. 27 / Military Wives Choir - Wherever You Are / 760 POINTS 2011 Chart run; 1 0hR6O7VxKaQ This got the same amount of points as the next song, but less positive voters. I know this is for charity and that some people really like it but what an awful Christmas #1, I think it's just so DULL and would rather give some money straight to charity. It got a few -10s and one 150.
January 2, 201213 yr "Don't Wanna Go Home" isn't THAT bad. "She Makes Me Wanna" is hardly ear rape either but it is comfortably worse than most of what's to come so it's not undeserved.
January 2, 201213 yr Yeah, I really don't get what makes Don't Wanna Go Home SO bad? The sample of Show Me Love? IDK, I really like it, catchy song.
January 2, 201213 yr Author 26 / Bruno Mars - The Lazy Song / 760 POINTS 2011 Chart run; 86-15-2-2-1-2-2-5-8-11-14-17-22-24-24-26-30-36-44-44-52-57-64-68-72-75-90-81-65-77-85 [31wks] fLexgOxsZu0 My own personal -10, as with most Bruno songs I did like this at first, but radio completely killed it. Lots of others decided it was their least favourite #1 of the year too and it got no higher than 120 (but it did get more positive voters than Wherever You Are). 25 / Dappy - No Regrets / 840 POINTS 2011 Chart run; 1-4-6-12-15-23-25-38-43-49-56-74-88-98 [14wks] WoImizvsj5w The last song to not pass 1000 points, despite not being an N-Dubz fan and being a Dappy hater I happen to really like this, even that key change. Got a few 110s and only one -10 so the masses can't hate it that much either, but it only just made the top 25.
January 2, 201213 yr Yeah, I really don't get what makes Don't Wanna Go Home SO bad? The sample of Show Me Love? IDK, I really like it, catchy song. I can't speak for everybody, but for me it's just really generic and boring. The sample doesn't bother me at all (most of the music I listen to uses extensive sampling), just the song as a whole, I think is awful.
January 2, 201213 yr Apart from Don't Go, there's no songs here that I hate - but The Lazy Song isn't really that good, much prefer Grenade.
January 2, 201213 yr Author 24 / Wretch 32 feat. Josh Kumra - Don't Go / 1020 POINTS 2011 Chart run; 1-4-7-13-17-26-29-35-57-70-97-80-69 [13wks] bj1BMpUnzT8 I'm personally impartial to this song, it's better than his first two singles so in a way I'm glad this was the #1 despite it's quick drop. Lots of people either love it or hate it though as it picked up at least a couple of 150s as well as a few -10s. 23 / Sak Noel - Loca People / 1370 POINTS 2011 Chart run; 1-3-8-13-21-24-39-56-67-73 [10wks] -d6b1yn-YhQ This also got a couple of -10s as well as one 140. I hated this at first, then kinda loved it, but now I hated it again, seems like complete novelty with the phrase "what the f***" just to get people buying.
January 2, 201213 yr I really like Don't Go. I think it and Someone Like You were such "special" #1s. Two songs which had really toned down instrumentals, as opposed to all the other #1s. And they were both lyrically very deep, again, contrasting to most of the other #1s.
January 2, 201213 yr Author 22 / Cher Lloyd - Swagger Jagger / 1500 POINTS 2011 Chart run; 1-3-11-19-31-41-48-58-73-85-91-x-73-41-59-92 [15wks] sdbyG2MrBHk Not a surprise as this is such a marmite track, lots of people COMPLETELY hate it and it thus got a lot of -10s, but then there are people like Tyron (who gave it 150) and myself who LOVE it. One of my favourite songs of the year, and I didn't even like her on X Factor. Would've been good to see it in the top 20 but lets face it, it was never going to happen. 21 / Pixie Lott - All About Tonight / 1660 POINTS 2011 Chart Run; 1-3-6-9-14-22-33-34-37-42-49-50-57-68-60-73 [16wks] swcULf1ATyU Pixie misses out on the top 20 by 370pts, but she manages to be the first song so far not to get a -10. Not claiming this is EXCELLENT but it's harmless enough pop and one of her best, slightly surprised the Buzzjack masses didn't vote her into the top 20 at least. That's your lott for tonight, I'll continue tomorrow with 20-11. Edited January 2, 201213 yr by JackLangSyne
January 2, 201213 yr I'm quite surprised All About Tonight didn't get a single -10, and at the same time, I'm glad to see it miss the top 20. It's so... well, I rather dislike it now, I can't even listen to it any more. I try, because I'm not used to disliking something like that, but I just can't get into it. Nothing tragically low thus far, although Dappy and Sak Noel I rather like, I wasn't expecting them high either.
