I just heard JME's song on the radio, and they called it "96 Thuggeries". It's down to #41 now, so it probably won't make it. :( Another rapper needs to tweet about it asap.

I think it may just make it at #40, because it was #66 on Amazon's chart

93. Boom Blast - Wiley

Finally in the top 100 :D Hope it can make it into the official top 100, it's Wiley's best song in ages.

Fake 'Twilight' now up to #77  :(

'No Light, No Light' up to #69 :D

'If You Wanna' back up to #100. Surprised it's hung around so well since the Hootenanny thing! Is it being used in an advert or something?

Boom Blast is probably in the top 100 because Wiley's album is out I think. Probably him releasing the album is reminding people he's got a single out.

I'll be so happy if Twilight goes to #1. I'm sure it'll go top 10 anyway. Such a wonderful song.

How will rap fans survive, if this doesn't make it...

Come on though, this is SLIGHTLY different. Plus, all the rap songs that have been big recently, like Give Me Everything, Good Feeling, Party Rock Anthem, etc. are musically more similar to Katy Perry and Lady Gaga than they are to hip hop (or in JME's case grime). It would be nice to have a rap song in the top 40 that doesn't have a nice nursery-rhyme chorus, and it would be a fantastic thing to show that artists can go top 40 without masses of radio airplay and TV airplay. He's been working so hard for sooooooo many years to build up a fanbase.

Do Cover Drive really have a big enough backing for 'Twilight' to go top 10 - the way people are talking about them, it certainly does. I thought 'Lick Ya Down' getting top 10 was pure luck, as Parade did with their debut single - and they followed that up with a low-peaking top 40 single and then flopped with everything else. Would be nice for a new urban group to get some success, with N-Dubz pretty much out of the picture and StooShe not releasing 'Love Me' until March - there's definitely a gap for them.

As for who I'm hoping will be #1 - I'd quite like to see Lana del Rey get it - but she's incredible overhyped. I may opt for the album, as may many others, so the single may only get #5/6 on the basis that people'd rather get the entire album - but I may be wrong. Would be a shame for Rizzle Kicks to claim #1 though - so Jessie J, David Guetta / Sia or Lana del Rey please.

One good thing about Rizzle Kicks getting #1 would be that it'd be the first time that we would have 4 climbers to #1 in a row in YEARS. Probably hasn't happened since the mid-00's?

I think the only reason Lick Ya Down went top 10 was because of how much radio airplay it got before it was released. It's a rather average song, but Twilight is much better imo. I'm NEVER going to know how Parade went top 10. Most of us had never heard of them when they did.

600. Ass Back Home (Gym Class Heroes feat. Neon Hitch Remake) - Home Gym Class

779. Hot Right Now - 100% Tributes

We could have 2 fake versions in the official top 100 this week - Wild Ones has had a few versions around pretty much all week and T.H.E (The Hardest Ever) is high enough now to possibly sneak in as well.

Oh, I see the real 'Wild Ones' has been added now - could get #1 next week over Lana/Cover Drive then, it won't need to sell too much. We'll see how quickly it climbs :P

I love Twilight, i have a good feeling about Cover Drive :).. they are edgy and there is a great gap for them
If only 'You Da One'/'Take Care' were doing a bit better we could have 2 Barbadian acts in the top 10 next week! (Although it's not as if that's never happened before, Love The Way You Lie's last 2 top 10 weeks were shared with Shontelle's Impossible).

I wonder if 'Wild Ones' will shoot up iTunes now and potentially bag the #1 spot next week. Poor Lana Del Rey!!! :(

We might have a top 3 consisting of new entries though. :D

If Wild Ones goes number 1 next week... then that would be 2 number 1's in 2012 for Flo Rida already and its not even the end of January

I've just seen the video for 'T.H.E' for the first time (along with hearing the actual song for the first time).

The song is actually terrible. Why would someone like Mick Jagger actually lower himself by agreeing to participate in this song? I can understand why Jennifer Lopez would considering she'd do any to get a hit these days  but I'm quite shocked by the song's shit-ness. I knew it would be bad as soon as I read that it's Will.I.Am's song.

The video (or at least the last half of it) is truly brilliant though. It reminds me of the recently relevant (:kink:) White Stripes video with the traingles and moving screen etc (explained well, I know).

Regarding next week's chart, I can't see Lana, Cover Drive and Flo Sida ALL going top 3 next week. Tbh, I can actually see NONE of them getting there. Obviously it depends how high sales will be (probably not that high). My predictions would go:

Cover Drive - #13

Lana Del Rey - #5

Flo Sida - I actually have no idea

And it'd be the shortest time between #1s as a lead artist since Elvis Presley (first with new #1s since John Lennon, as all 3 of Elvis' had been #1 before) :P Dizzee Rascal went to #1 with 'Shout' two weeks after he did with 'Dirtee Disco' but he was just a featured artist on the former.

Edited by Bré

Dizzee Rascal would've got 3 #1s in a short space of time if You Got the Dirtee Love had gotten there. :(
Kelly Clarkson  5

SHM  6

Wow! :o

If Kelly can quickly climb to #4, hopefully she'll be on course to bag a top 5 position officially next week. For that to happen, she'll need to sell far more than the songs in the top 10 with multiple versions and the new releases (except one at most) can't go top 5.

Great to see Pixie down to #10. Hopefully she'll be kicked out by one of the 3 "big" new entries tomorrow.
