So cool is 10000x better than the Charice song -_-

Louder's a great pop song! Probably the most forgotten winner we've had in a long time though looking at the (lack of) reaction to it in the past few months.

I loved Louder too actually, sureprised it hasn't done better. Quite like So Cool that said :)

Oh, I'm astonished to get any noms in this so that's lovely. AMAZED in particular to be in the top 10 most consistent countries of the year, are you sure you did the correct math? :D

Considering Ghosty did it rather than me, I think we can be assured of that ^_^

I cannot believe So Cool is the only entry I've been nominated for.

I don't know how anybody could prefer it to Louder either.

It's shite!!

Wtf you sent an entry which you think it's shit?

I prefer So Cool much more than Louder which I thought was easily forgettable :D

It can't believe you just said that! :o

Don't people sometimes just send songs to the contest because they think that they'll make good discoveries for others? I'm sure we had a few people admitting to doing that a few months ago, like Nick and that Severina song. I'm sure there were some other admissions too!

Like Batidas entering 'Erase You' because I genuinely thought it'd appeal to the pop loving nations? That was a fantastic judgement wasn't it? :heehee:

Did you not actually like Erase You then? :o

This is one of the key moments of the awards, as what is BJSC about if not discoveries? These are the songs that people may have never heard were it not for this wonderful contest, although in a couple of cases they may have done a bit later  These are the nominations for the Best Discovery!

Batidas // Gotye Feat. Kimbra - Somebody That I Used To Know

Farahtyn // Jessica Mauboy - Inescapable

Fljótavík // Le Prix & Johan Agebjörn; Lake Heartbeat - Watch The World Go By

FSR Rontvia // Sheelah - The Last Time

Greenfroze // Rachel Platten - 1000 Ships

Isconia // Lana Del Rey - Video Games

Glad to see that this is nominated here!

Another award that says something but really means another. This may as well be called best K-pop entry, because all but two of the entries comes from South Korea  If only I had sent Namie Amuro - Make It Happen! Nevertheless thank you for my first nomination of the night  The nominees are...

Botanikka // 2NE1 - I Am The Best

Daehun // Brown Eyed Girls - Sixth Sense

Daehun // IU - Good Day

Daehun // T-Ara - Roly-Poly

Herzebania // Sistar - So Cool

Numayania // The_AIU - CPU

St. Joliver // SingerSen - Drunk

Unovia // HyunA - Bubble Pop!

Oooh.. how am I ever going to manage to vote in this one? :( So many fantastic songs! :D

Most Improved Country

Yeah so I don't have an image for this one right now :drama: Anyhoo, this award is for the country whose entries through XXXI-XL have been of a highesr standard of the previous year's, or at least people have enjoyed more... The nominations for Most Improved Country are...

Allecian

Ashton

FSR Rontvia

Greenfroze

Hendinia

Ojnoj

People's Republic Of Jester

I don't particularly agree with this one, but I have been trying very hard, though, so it is most appreciated!

Going hand in hand again with the previous award, this is for the country that people are most looking forward to seeing the entries from in 2012. There are some suprises here, not least for the first time we have a country that has never sent an entry to the contest before in the nominations! So they are...

Batidas

Daehun

FSR Rontvia

Greenfroze

Kluminican Republic

Seyetana

Syndare

Unovia

WOW! FANTASTIC! :cheer: Thank you! I hope I can live up to this!

So what, Herzebania sent So Cool not because he liked it but because he thought it would appeal to others? I AM DISAPPOINT!

Herzebania sent So Cool because he had 20 minutes to come up with an entry and had found absolutely nothing worth sending!

Me too. So not cool :(

Did you not actually like Erase You then? :o

It was the entry I had the least faith in but I wouldn't say I didn't like it (it was unashamed pure cheesey Eurodance but there were better similar tracks I could've used instead). Yes, I even had more faith in 'Soldier' until the semi finals were revealed and realised all those who liked the track were in the other semi to me.

Herzebania sent So Cool because he had 20 minutes to come up with an entry and had found absolutely nothing worth sending!

Is there a reason in why the entry was a K-Pop one..? Do you listen to the genre itself? :o

Oh well New Caprica is back for more K-Pop entries, I guess we won't be seeing Herzebania entering another one anytime soon

I don't particularly listen to the genre, no. I've probably only listened to So Cool about four times.

And Herzebania doesn't intend to enter anything for the foreseeable future so yes technically you're right. :P

I think it's safe to assume that Syndare will win at least one BJSC at some point in 2012. :D

A "Most Exciting Nation for 2012" nomination before they've even debuted is definitely a promising start.

:o The expectation is overwhelming! I feel under such pressure to deliver now, I hope I don't let everyone down. (I'm worried already because I know at least a couple of people are familiar with my first entry...)

Nevertheless, I'm VERY honoured to make history in this category  , thank you all very much!

One question. How on earth has FSR Rontvia improved? They've been consistently outstanding since the contest began, if anything this year was their worst decade of the 4 (from Ashton's perspective).

Although I for one am thrilled to be nominated for some awards. Most improved especially. I've worked hard this year to send not only songs that I love, but songs that will be great discoveries for others.

Tonight's first award is for countries that have suprised, amazed and delighted over the last year with their fantastic musical taste and originality. Sort of like South Korea, I guess :kink: The nominees are...

Batidas

Caerfyrddia

Elëdan

Espen

FSR Rontvia

http://img860.imageshack.us/img860/8270/mostinspiredentry.png

Our next award is for songs from those countries that are considered to be most inspired. You would expect to see a fair bit of crossover here, and you wouldn't be wrong! The nominees are...

Allecian // Ask Embla - Ein

Batidas // Agnes Obel - Riverside

Batidas // Gotye feat. Kimbra - Somebody That I Used to Know

Caerfyrddia // I Am A Camera - Endless Storm

Elëdan // Azealia Banks - 212

Espen // Frida Gold - Wovon sollen wir träumen

FSR Rontvia // Chart Music - All My Life

Isconia // Lana Del Rey - Video Games

Yay.

Video Games already was getting quite big. And it's not my fault I confirmed '212' and they put Azealia on the BBC Sound list 2 weeks after -_-

Is that Lenny Kravitz? Anyway, this category is all about skinny boys with greasy hair and girls with funny hair and dilated eyes. And no I'm not talking about Dandy and Shelli. Of course, this category produced a wide range of opinions on what was indie, but I think that we may have found a happy medium here. The nominations for best indie entry are...

Batidas // Gotye Feat. Kimbra - Somebody That I Used To Know

Batidas // SX - Black Video

Fljotavik // Patrick Wolf - Together (Cherry B Mix)

Isconia // Lana Del Rey - Video Games

Are. You. Fucking. Kidding. Me?!

http://img717.imageshack.us/img717/8894/outstandingcontribution.png

And our last nomination announcement of the night is for another big one, the country that has done the most throughout the history of BJSC, and who has made the contest what it is today! Nominees for the Outstanding Contribution are...

Ashton

Caerfryddia

Eledan

Espen

FSR Rontvia

Kopečka

Numayania

Thanks for my second nomination and again for all your votes. The final voting will be up within the next half hour!

AT LEAST I made an appearance to this. Not that I will be coming anywhere other than LAST.

Not expecting any awards, but can predict 'Somebody That I Used To Know', 'Video Games', 'Red Hot' and FSR Rontvia will get 90% of those :magic:

Hendinia for Most Improved? I'm ABOUT TO PISS MY PANTS LAUGHING.
