SHM are miles ahead with multiple versions and she's going to be overtaken by "Alone Again" tomorrow anyway

I know she will, but then she should get a small top 10 boost, besides she has promotion all of next week as next week is the official release date.

I guess there are some artists who have huge hits after huge hits so there is no "signature song" in particular. Although artists like David Guetta don't have a clear one, other artists who have multiple smash hits like Rihanna have a clear signature hit. I'd say 'Umbrella' is her signature hit. Lady GaGa's is 'Bad Romance' I would have thought and Katy Perry's is 'I Kissed A Girl'. Maybe I'm way off though.

I agree about Katy Perry.

Obviously it's easier to tell artists signature hits comapred to other artists

Pixie Lott - Cry Me Out

One Direction - What Makes You Beautiful

The Saturdays - Up

Flo Rida - Right Round

Maroon 5 - Moves Like Jagger

Drake - What's My Name (It helped get him noticed much more)

Miley Cyrus - Party In The Usa

Jessie J - Price Tag

Olly Murs - Heart Skips A Beat?

What's Kelly Clarkson's signature song, I would imagine Since You've Been Gone?

Considering Drake is just a featured artist I wouldn't say What's My Name is his signature song. Its a mix of popularity and longevity. Kelly's in definitely Since You've Been Gone.

I'd say 'Low' for Flo Rida.

Step Up really has helped him out as an artist, it contributed in Low & Club Can't Handle Me going to number one.

Obviously it's easier to tell artists signature hits comapred to other artists

Cry Me Out? Hmm, not sure. I'd like to think that "Up" is for The Saturdays but I'd have thought that a lot round here would say "Ego" or Ego Pt. II, Broken Down "Higher" -_-

Cry Me Out outsold Mama Do, which is funny as it peaked at 12. But it's sold over 350,000. All About Tonight will no doubt be her signature song soon. Up i think made The Saturdays following If This Is Love and helped the Chasing Lights era a success, and its their biggest selling single 340,000. Ego is second followed by Higher.

01. David Guetta & Sia - Titanium

02. Coverdrive - Twilight 71.4%

03. Jessie J - Domino 71.3%

04. Flo Rida & Sia - Wild Ones 56.4%

05. Gotye - Somebody That I Used To Know 52.6%

I wouldn't say 'Cry Me Out' is Pixie's signature hit. I don't actually think she has one (yet). Same with The Saturdays although 'Up' stands out slightly more than any of their other singles. Flo's is obviously 'Low'. 'Right Round' pales in comparison in every way.

I would say it is too early to be claiming what is One Direction's/Olly's/Jessie's signature hit. They've only been around for five minutes. And Drake's signature hit can't be WMN because he's a featured artist.

My examples would be:

Cyndi Lauper - Girls Just Wanna Have Fun

Aerosmith - I Don't Wanna Miss A Thing

LeAnn Rimes - How Do I Live

Rihanna - Umbrella

Michael Jackson - Thriller

Kelly Clarkson - Since U Been Gone / Because Of You (to a lesser extent)

Usher - Yeah

Stevie Wonder - Superstition

Britney Spears - Baby One More Time

Christina Aguilera - Dirrty / Beautiful

Katy Perry - I Kissed A Girl

Justin Timberlake - Cry Me A River

Leona Lewis - Bleeding Love

Pink - Get This Party Started

Can't think of any more atm.

And Lee, a signature song isn't necessarily the biggest-selling one. Eric gave the best definition of what a signature song is.

well if we talk worldwide... Katy signature song would be Hot n Cold.. this was more famous in the Radios in the States.. and was the song she became famous in Mexico and Brazil, Argentina .. bla bla... for The Saturdays...the first song I heard from them was Higher (L) but I don't think it's their signature song... for David Guetta... I'd totally say it's Sexy Bitch...a dn for... Maroon5 is This Love

Britney - Baby... One More Time / Toxic

Christina 'Queen' Aguilera - Beautiful / Candyman

Robbie Williams - Rock DJ

Hilary Duff - Wake Up

Kelly Clarckson - Since U've been Gone / Because of You

Westlife - Fool Again / Uptown Girl (even it's a cover)

Kylie - Can't Get You Out Of My Head

Thalia - Amor a la mexicana / Arrasando (worldwide) and I want you ft. Fat Joe (in the USA)

Shakabra - Hips Don't Lie

Justin Bieber - Baby

Flo Rida's was definitely Low, you know, with it being one of the biggest songs of the decade and everything.

Swedish House Mafia - One

Pitbull - I Know You Want Me

Chris Brown - With You or Forever

Lil Wayne - Lollipop

Outkast - Ms. Jackson or Hey Ya! (both these songs changed music tbh)

Taio Cruz - Break Your Heart

Olly Murs - Please Don't Let Me Go

Beyonce - Crazy In Love

LMFAO - Party Rock Anthem

Rihanna - Umbrella

Kelly Clarkson - Since U Been Gone

Christina Aguilera - Beautiful or Genie in a Bottle (she has LOADS of songs that seem like "signature" songs though! :o).

Robbie Williams - Rock DJ

Westlife - Fool Again / Uptown Girl (even it's a cover)

I would say Angels and Flying Without Wings are more suited to the respective artists

also I wouldn't say Hilary Duff has one yet :kink:

May as well join in the discussion;

Taio Cruz's has definitely become 'Dynamite' - it was a bigger hit because of 'Break Your Heart''s success and unlike 'Break Your Heart' has become a karaoke favourite + has a ton of cover versions uploaded onto Youtube.

As for Pixie Lott, it's hard to say - I'd agree that 'All About Tonight' could well become her signature hit, but for now 'Cry Me Out' stands out as her signature track.

Justin Bieber - 'Baby'

Olly Murs - 'Heart Skips a Beat'

Jessie J - 'Price Tag'

What do people reckon about Bruno Mars? His songs have all been huge, I'm tempted to say that 'Nothin' On You' or even 'Billionaire' is his signature track though, although 'Grenade' and 'Just the Way You Are' are other contenders.

Michael Jackson - Thriller

Thriller is obviously MJ's most iconic video (and the most iconic video of all time really) but I think 'Billie Jean' and 'Beat It' are both closer to being his signature song (although he has a lot of them so it's hard to say a single one - if I had to I'd say Billie Jean though).

Beyonce - Crazy In Love

As much as I hate it 'Single Ladies (Put A Ring On It)' is what I'd say for Beyoncé - although I suppose as with Thriller (not that I'm comparing the two musically) it's more 'iconic' for its video than the song itself. Which is odd because the video is terrible. One of the few things Kanye is wrong about :P

I'd definitely say Just the Way You Are for Bruno. Although you're right, he's got many contenders. Maybe for a lot of males they'll associate Billionaire with him more.

HOW in the hell is Candyman Xtina's signature hit? It didn't do anything like anywhere and barely anyone remembers it. Beautiful stands head and shoulders above the rest although Genie and Dirrty come close. I'd say for Beyoncé it does come close between Crazy In Love and Single Ladies but you've also got Irreplaceable in the mix there. I'd say Crazy stands above the rest but it's too close to call really.

"Billie Jean" is surely Michael Jackson's signature song. Aerosmith's is only "I Don't Wanna Miss A Thing" in pop circles, otherwise it's "Walk This Way".

Kings of Leon - Sex On Fire

Oasis - Wonderwall (as much as it pains me to say it)

Paramore - Misery Business

30 Seconds to Mars - Kings & Queens

My Chemical Romance - Welcome to the Black Parade

Queens of the Stone Age - No One Knows

^they're all signature songs, and fairly undisputed ones IMO. A few of my favourite bands it's debatable:

Green Day - Basket Case / Good Riddance / American Idiot / Boulevard of Broken Dreams

Foo Fighters - Everlong / Learn To Fly / Times Like These / Best of You / The Pretender

Muse - Plug In Baby / Feeling Good / Supermassive Black Hole / Knights of Cydonia
