GO GOTYE :cheer: Didn't expect him to overtake Alyssa this early, Alyssa is already heading towards an awful chart run it seems which is yet another reason she shouldn't be #1 :P

Great to see Lana in the top 10, looks like she will get a second top 10 hit with it after all - maybe it could keep climbing for a few more weeks as well and get a respectable peak. Video Games should have a pretty big climb this week as well, maybe back in the top 15? :o

'Drunk' to #13 :( I hope this is just a blip and it climbs back to 11 then knocks out Pixie soon. Second version is back  to #76 though, so it must be 'stealing' some of its sales now for some reason.

Redlight still as high as #16 :D Holding up really well so far.

 26. Turn This Club Around (Video Edit) - R.I.O.

This could become a pretty big hit if Radio 1 support it.

 28. Turn Me On (feat. Nicki Minaj) - David Guetta & Nicki Minaj

Top 40 this week then? I can just tell this will be another #1 for Guetta whenever they release it, could be two quickfire #1s for him if Titanium does get there. Very big quality gap between them though. Turn Me On isn't awful but it's nothing special at all.

 56. Mirror (feat. Bruno Mars) - Lil Wayne

Finally seems to be taking off then. Odd. Has its video premiered or something?

 69. I Got 5 On It (feat. Michael Marshall) - Luniz

Interesting. Anyone know why this is doing so well?

 71. Somebody That I Used to Know - Walk Off the Earth

Should finally make the top 100 this week then.

 86. Through the Night - Ren Harvieu

Heard this the other day, I really like it, good to see it doing decently. Hopefully also top 100 officially this week.

 92. Charlie Brown - Coldplay

Climb faster please :P

 93. Good Riddance (Time of Your Life) - Green Day

I assume this was used on a TV show? Good to see it back although I wish some other old Green Day songs would occasionally crop up again, this is one of my least favourites of theirs.

 99. Next To Me - Cover Mogul

Wow, the real version of this could be absolutely massive at this rate, with its huge radio support and this fake version doing well :o Not often you see charting fake versions of songs by British artists doing this well (although there was a fake version of Hot Right Now that also made the top 100 a while back - and these two are released on the same week, possibly a pretty high-selling top 2 there!)

I don't like indie music but I LOVE Somebody That I Used To Know. I think that crossover appeal is why its a massive success in the UK imo. It would be nice to see it at #1, it does have a chance next week if will.i.am does a "Black And Yellow"
My god, literally the best top 2 in absolutely AGES, I can't even think when it was better  Both could be potential all time favourites for me, loved them for months and months and still adore them to this day! BTD up to 9 is great too, I hope she gets top 10 this week officially
As a side note, we have France, New Zealand, Canada and Australia (twice) represented in the iTunes top three and likely official top three on Sunday, how unexpectedly international of us :o

There's also an American act in the top 3 (Jump Smokers) if you're going to count Sia and Kimbra :P Also Gotye was born in Belgium so instead of saying 'Australia twice' you could have a list of six nationalities in the top 3, none of which are British.

Also loving the Guetta/Gotye top 2. The lack of British and American artists in the top 3 is refreshing. I hope there will be a Guetta/Gotye top 2 officially in the next few weeks.

As above it's not a completely American-free top 3 :P

If it will be given away like Paradise, it will be ineligible for the chart as it counts as a free gift, wouldn't it?

Bruce Springsteen's last single was released like this and was allowed to chart so it's possible the OCC have finally got rid of this stupid rule (possibly due to complaints about the way they handled Paradise?)

THIS. And if you think STIUTK is weird, you should hear the rest of the album, State Of The Art is a good place to start (I'm a poet and I was previously unaware of this).

What a fabulous iTunes top 10 now Good Feeling has gone! One of the best for ages! I like nearly all the songs, and those I don't are listenable :)

I know they are, I chose not to mention them because it's not like we're ever short of Americans in the top three. Hence why I didn't state that we have a non British/US top three, we DO however have a top three where none of the lead credited artists are from the UK or US! No doubt for the first time in years.

The last time the charts were this to my taste was May 2009 when Alexander Rybak and Agnes managed to score top ten hits a couple of weeks apart  And Keri Hilson's Knock You Down was floating about in the top ten too!

I'm assuming this has got something to do with their new album released this week.

A bit of a disaster, its not even top 40 :(

God bless you Jonjo, I'm so happy to see this!

Everyone saying how much they love the chart at the moment - I love a lot of music to be honest, but Born To Die & Alone Again are both awful, and Somebody That I Know or whatever it's called is just plain weird  Luckily, the #01 on iTunes right now is AMAZING.

I think my music taste has gone to pot somewhere along the line because I love ALL of these! Some people are team Lana/Gotye, some are team Alyssa/Cover Drive and some are team Guetta-Sia-Flo Rida. I'd agree more with the latter than any but I LOVE all six of these songs

Team Guetta-Sia-Rida.

It has indeed.

Is it not 59p? If it's in the new batch of them it could do a "POWER" then I guess, although I agree that there are better candidates. Anything really to keep their profile up, as it's going their album this year will struggle to sell the 79k in its first week that 21st Century Breakdown did in two days :manson:

A bit of a disaster, its not even top 40 :(

It's a really low-profile release of a 1993 gig, it was never going to do a lot. Even I'm not buying it

Chart fact investigator Bré is on the case :magic:

Even if Gotye doesn't get to #3 this week it's the first top 2 with no UK or US artists since W/E 16/02/2008 that even the top 2 hasn't had a British or American lead act - in that case Basshunter (Swedish) and Nickelback (Canadian) took the top 2.

(16/01/2010 with Iyaz and Sidney Smason could also count but Iyaz is from British Virgin Islands so could technically be counted as British, plus he can be pretty much called American anyway, so I'm not counting that one).

Still looking for the last top 3 with no UK/US lead artists.

It's actually 99p, One of my favorite Green Day songs along with Boulevard of Broken Dreams and Wake Me Up When September ends.

Last top 3 with 3 non-UK/US lead artists located :magic:

W/E 02/03/2002, when the top 3 were Westlife (Irish), Enrique Iglesias (Spanish) and Kylie Minogue (Australian). So pretty damn near 10 years since it last happened.

I don't think Gotye is that likely to be #3 this week anyway though so it's entirely possible that was a big waste of time :D

It's a countdown for a preorder of the album - I assume that the single will be available the same way that Coldplay's "Paradise" and Bruce Springsteen's latest singles were.

Then how come the Boss's single was allowed to chart, when Coldplay's wasn't?

What a horrendous top 2!!! :puke:

I think this Guetta/Gotye combination is the best top 2 since 'We Found Love'/'Moves Like Jagger' took the #1 and #2 position a few months ago.

Well, Cover Drive is my fave of all those :kink: But I'd have to choose the Guetta-Sia-Flo Rida team there

It's been changed?

I dug a bit deeper to find the last one without any Irish acts in the top 3 either as they're often lumped in with the UK and it feels odd including Westlife on a list of foreign acts  The last time it happened before this was W/E 25/09/1999 with a top 3 of Eiffel 65 (Italian), Lou Bega (German) and Bob Marley vs. Funkstar De Luxe (Jamaican and Danish).
