Nearly finished with Semi 1, in my view there's quite a lot of good but not much fantastic quality wise. (I'm excluding my own entry of course :wub:)

Darling, Lena hasn't been used before and I'd willingly bet the majority of participants in this haven't even HEARD of her, or would barely remember her at best. Compare that with Le Kid's twentieth entry.

Sorry John. Although I'll be the first to admit SoSo isn't exactly the most revolutionary entry, but it was easily the best song I had to choose from.

 

I know a surprising amount of the entries already - that Radio Killer song has been around for ages! And is nowhere near as good as 'Lonely Heart' sadly - so deciding on points to the entries I already like will be tricky. Excited for my first contest though!

Which is why the vetoing is upto the mods. Le Kid, as insanely uninspired as it may be, is not actually veto worthy as outside the Scandiloons and Denmark nobody cares about them and not to mention their last entry flopped big time. We decided that they were not a threat or particularly in violation of the spirit of the contest which is what the veto is about. The veto is used to influence people into being more inspired and where people can't self-govern it's used to cull out the Silly Boy's/Hollywood's that took a lot of the fun and spirit out of the contest pre-veto.

 

It's not supposed to cut anything even slightly uninspired, it's supposed to ensure that people don't enter something massively hyped and basically the next big thing. As much as I adore Le Kid, they can't even make it in Sweden.

Damnit the recap video for semi final 1 didn't work the way it's supposed to! :( Numayania and Dalisska has no sound, and Hendinia and Daehun are too loud, among others. *sigh* Let's give it some tweaking, and try again!

 

Oh and btw; does anybody know how to zip folders and upload them? I've tried, but it fails to upload everytime :drama:

I knew that I wasn't the only one after C.R. Japsen :lol:...amazing pop song, I hope it does well for Ramrynia.

From the recap I only like (>6/10) four songs. I'm not even joking.

True, although I must admit I was initally for banning Le Kid, because they have been in the contest about, what, seven times now? :lol: I don't know what Sweden don't like about them tbh. But I suppose, as the French say, they are "le plus Danoises des Suedoises".

What software are you using to make your recap videos? I just used Windows Movie Maker but then to get around "copyright" I didn't actually use music video footage but a screenshot from the video where possible and added sound myself.

 

I usually upload Zip files to mediafire.

I think the semis are balanced enough in accordance to what's possible in here. Were you thinking when it comes to songs or countries? Most people send pop, so I guess there will always be more pop overall.

 

And glad you liked your part! I didn't listen to the whole ting, but I skimmed through a lot of it, and found that part to be the best part ^_^

I'm using Pinnacle Studio 12, it is a rather decent video editing software, it just takes a while to process on my computer :drama: Well, I could always make the link private, to hide it from everyone but us.

What web brower are you using? I know in my case, I had to get an updated version of Internet Explorer as I was having trouble at first. It works fine for me now though.
