Some of the songs with longer odds (See Kopecka/Mdice) I think will do well, but have no shot of winning. I reckon 7-12 beckons for them.

Yes, I did just put myself top of my own odds :kink: We are starting to get more confident in our own entry. Above the line is the likely top5 but I can see this being a straight Tone vs Carly fight, which I naturally want to win.

10/1 and joint 6th? :o

I agree though, this is Ashton's to lose  My final odds will be up tomorrow!

IMHO, I think It's Ashton's to lose now, and deservedly so

It does seem to be where the momentum is at the moment, only Ramrynia might get in the way of an easy victory for Ashton, depends how much Call Me Maybe appeals to the Semi 1 voters, I'm going to assume that they'll more or less appeal to the same voters for the most part.

As a side note, I would love to bag another top five this month, but I'd be content with a return to the top ten after last month's minor disaster

Looks like everyone is believing Ashton will win, I am delighted I've always had it at a front runner.

Our Updates odds will be up later.

I hate Ashtons bets :D

But seriously I better not come Bottom 5 AGAIN.

It's sort of crept up on the outside for me, despite always being a strong contender from the off. My only doubts came from the fact that Tone's BJSC record is patchy, with even Butterflies 'only' finishing 4th. However, as I stated before, the landscape of the contest has completely changed since she was last entered and the pure pop lovers really rule the roost now, purely by virute of vastly outnumbering everybody else.

^_^ Topping the odds from the renowned RontBet is wonderful news! Also with the same odds as AshBet :o

Y'all are making this very hard for me to be modest.

Cross-over appeal is likely to be where this contest is won, and I just can't see Call Me Maybe crossing over as well as Look Back (Not that I think Look Back is going to cross over well at all)

Your support is most appreciated!

Come to think of it, both Tone and Carly both seem like the two people least likely to get into an actual fight

Very true! Both seem to sweet/nice to get into a scrap.

I hate Ashtons bets :D

But seriously I better not come Bottom 5 AGAIN.

The odds get very long, very quickly because realistically there is little chance of anyone outside the top5 winning and a lot of the songs have basically no chance of winning.

The newer people here need to break the link between position on the odds and finishing position. Both Kopecka and Mdice are in the 30's but I expect them to be around the bottom of the top 10, I don't think they'll win which is why they have long odds.

I like how it wasn't mentioned in the list of front runners to begin with and was just kind of near the top at the start. Then as the week's progressed it's built up into a proper front runner.

I Love You did alright in the end and tbf it should have finished lower than Butterflies as it's not as good. I Know is a disastrous DNQ and I don't think the Live video helped it's cause in a NGDA situation.

Just be thankful you qualified.

To be fair, your second win should have come with Jag Kommer so it's a bit overdue!

Cross-over appeal is likely to be where this contest is won, and I just can't see Call Me Maybe crossing over as well as Look Back (Not that I think Look Back is going to cross over well at all)

Who knows, maybe Mdice could wade in with another unexpected Tone Damli 12? :o Call Me Maybe might have quite a bit of crossover appeal, I saw it in West's chart in the personal chart forum and he's quite indie in his tastes usually. A strong pop song, which Look Back is, should always have a degree of crossover appeal. And if not then you could just twelve it to victory by not even appealing to the majority of the voters (until the UK release of course :funky:) a la Video Games!

I like how it wasn't mentioned in the list of front runners to begin with and was just kind of near the top at the start. Then as the week's progressed it's built up into a proper front runner.

It's been a firm third in my odds throughout the week but as the hype for SoSo has petered off a bit (although I still can't envisage it outside the top five), the hype for Tone has only grown and grown, from comments I've seen in this and other threads it seems like you've already got five or six guaranteed 12's in the bag! More to the point, although the song is really instant, it's also an incredible grower. So people won't get bored of it after the first listen, but it's instantly likeable enough to know that you want to support it. And the sky's the limit on subsequent listens.

Three in a row :funky:

yes I know the middle one is mine and I put it there

I always appreciate seeing honesty over modesty in the odds. And it's great to see odds from AshBet, you really should do them every month! People that are worried about looking big headed by giving themselves good odds with a great song should just remember that if the UK had a stunning entry to Eurovision, a certain winner, I can guarantee that William Hill would restrict the odds to as narrow as possible, 6/4 or something, because everybody would rush to put money on their home country if they believed that we had a chance in a display of misplaced patriotism. British bookies always get the most money put on the United Kingdom, because Joe Public has never heard any of the other songs pre-contest and put a small bet on it just in case.

There's no room for modesty at a bookmakers, you'd lose too much money. Which is why I never understood why the likes of Nonsuch and Kingdom of Shadow would downplay one of their many top 3's to a 40/1 along with a 'oh no, it's never going to do as well as you all think because...' type comment. Admittedly the former was proven correct with Never Leave You finishing 'only' 9th, which he hailed one of the greatest pop songs of the noughties when it leaked and he confirmed it. That's not delusion, that's incredible hyperbole.

Look Back is SO much better than Butterflies - I found Butterflies too twee for my liking, but the chorus to Look Back is superb.
