You cant really compare becuase Gaga wasnt selling her album when BTW was released, Madonna is! So if you pre-order MDNA you get the single immediately but it is not allowed to count for the single position!

It's not just Madonna, Lady Gaga fans seem to do that whenever a female pop star releases a song. It's like to them the success of a song is based solely on the first 3 hours of sales. :blink:

 

I think the raps were too short in Madonna's song. Imo, she should've just had one longer rap verse. Or she should've just done the single version with no rapping at all (which would've helped its radio airplay in the UK), and then had a remix which had full-length rap verses, a different beat and just the chorus kept in, and she could've invited even more rappers along then.

 

Gotye would probably be at #1 on iTunes now if Titanium wasn't 59p. I'm surprised Luniz and Redd are still so high, especially the latter, since I can't think what promo it's getting.

Just because Born This Way shot up in 3 hours doesn't mean that everything else flops because it doesn't do that. Besides, as has been said the pre-order thing is stopping Madonna, she's one of the only few artists to go straight to number 1 in the albums chart on pre-orders, did Gaga get that? Gaga's monsters are precisely the reason why I can't possibly like Gaga very much. They're so annoying with their constant bitchiness to other artists, I'm pretty sure they're the worst :/

Who cares if "Born this way" was number 1 before "Give me all your luvin"? I don't think Madonna has much to prove as a global star, does she?

4 Minutes was a bigger hit than Born This Way in the UK, and I doubt that went to #1 on iTunes on its release day.

 

Lady Gaga's fanbase are quite weird sometimes. I've never seen a group of people have such a negative reaction to a song getting discounted! Normal people see discounts as good things. :lol:

It's tempting for me to go off on a rant about this. But I like a lot of female pop artists. I like Rihanna, Ke$ha, Nicki Minaj, Katy Perry, Beyonce, Jennifer Lopez, Britney Spears, etc. Whenever I read a conversation between Lady Gaga fans, it always seems to be them criticizing an artist I like. Whilst if you're reading a conversation between Britney fans or of J-Lo fans, they're usually discussing the music of the artist. They're much less successful than Gaga at the moment, but their fans seem so much happier and content.

I see bitchiness from all fanbases, which is why im staying off Twitter for a while until it dies down between Gaga and Madonna fans :lol:

Although i'm pretty sure if Madonna did get #1 quicker than Gaga, there would have been tonnes of comparisons from Madonna fans, its just bound to happen unfortunately, especially with her recent comments to Gaga

Ikr, some of us are sane and can see Madonna is amazing as is Gaga :P

And if i'm being completely honest its Britney loons on Twitter that have personal and hateful attacks on the artists or fanbases, while Gaga fans just seem to be obssessed with chart success, and noticing the second someone is 'flopping' :drama:

Tbh everyone has their deluded loons, but I think the 'rivalry' between Madonna/Britney/Gaga stans is worst. I happen to love all those 3 artists and place them in my top 10 of all time, but they seem to think that you can only like one, and have to big up their successes to make everyone else sound like 'flops'.

I hope Madonna does not get to No 1 the song is poor, the video is really lively though.
