Posted February 6, 201213 yr http://i40.tinypic.com/3322ujn.jpg La Roux's Elly Jackson insists her second album, which she's currently recording, will be "warm and sexy" thanks to Nile Rodgers and Chic. "If there's a theme to this new album, it's that the music and the texture and the tone is going to feel warm and sexy," declares Jackson. "My first album wasn't sexy at all - it was angular and hard. But I've been listening a lot of Nile Rodgers' productions for inspiration. They're not necessarily talking about sec but the music is... I don't hear that any more in music but I'd love to. So I thought, f*** it, I'll do it myself." So why has it taken so long to the follow up the hit single Bulletproof? "I'm proud of that record, but what's the point in rushing the follow-up? I would rather it was amazing." And with all the great chart toppers at the moment, surely they feel pressure to create an even better record than their debut? "I'm not going to lie, I felt lots of pressure," she said. "What we did on the first record was great. If it was s**t it would have been like, 'Oh it doesn't matter what we do because it's going to be better' ________ Not much information yet but we keep getting snippets about it I'm majorly excited. The first ablum is probably one of my all time favourites and I'm sure this one wont disappoint. Expected to be released in Summer 2012 /dead
February 6, 201213 yr Elllie has to be one of the worst live singers in pop. But then again Bulletproof and Quicksand are CHOOOOONS. If the album is influenced by Niall Rodgers it has to be good.
February 6, 201213 yr It seems like they've been giving clues about this for an AGE. Can't wait. Been far too long! (she's been perfectly fine live when i've seen her?)
February 6, 201213 yr I have to admit I was pretty disappointed with the album as a whole, it was good but very overrated. Quicksand, Bulletproof and In For The Kill were all AMAZING though so I look forward to this.
February 6, 201213 yr Elllie has to be one of the worst live singers in pop. Incorrect. She's only a bad live singer if you don't like the voice to begin with...
February 6, 201213 yr really can't wait, their debut album was fantastic. I seriously want another 'in for the kill', in my top three songs of 2009 for sure. I'm still not even bored of it, so addictive.
February 6, 201213 yr I was never a fan of La Roux. Her voice is absolutely abysmal, but Bulletproof is brilliant and In For The Kill is a classic. I therefore await new material with an open mind.
February 6, 201213 yr Really liked the first 7 tracks on their debut (especially Tigerlily, Quicksand and Cover My Eyes). The last 5 were not very good. I want this album to be in the same style as their first one because I don't know how else I'm going to find something that sounds just like La Roux? I want more of that style.
February 6, 201213 yr I Love Quicksand, Bulletproof and Im not you Toy. The rest I don't really care for. I think what really put me off her is her appalling live skills. You think 'How can any one sing that high?' and then you hear her live and realise even she can't.
February 6, 201213 yr This inspires me to listen to the wonderful In For The Kill for the first time this decade.
February 6, 201213 yr In For The Kill and Bulletproof were both amazing singles, but from what I heard of the other singles, they sounded a bit too same-ish, I'm intrigued to hear how this sounds
February 6, 201213 yr I actually loved the first album. Very consistent but after Bulletproof the singles were chosen poorly. As If By Magic and Fascination were both strong potential singles and they were both PLANNED to be singles but then they decided re-releasing Quicksand would be a good idea and bang era dead.
February 6, 201213 yr It's been far too long. Let's have another Bulletproof on there. I never bothered with the first album, might get them both when this one comes out.
February 7, 201213 yr Another bulletproof please!! And hopefully this time she won't be victim blaming!
February 7, 201213 yr Was quiet fond of bulletproof, never bought the album and in a sense i had forgotten about La Roux.
February 7, 201213 yr Agree with what a lot of people are saying - I saw her live once and she was a mess. But no denying the both BProof and Kill are amazing songs.
