Emeli now 88.0% in relation to DJ Fresh with both combined.

The single version is in red on Kworb and the album version in green, just as I expected :P DJ Fresh's top version is also in red though.

DJ Fresh's EP is now #8.

Nicki Minaj's new single. I can see this doing a 'Super Bass'. It is released to iTunes US today but she hasn't said anything about UK. I'm guessing it will because Roman In Moscow and Stupid Hoe were both released at the same time as US.

It's decent on first listen.

If ive got it right, this is the official lead single isn't it, with the other 2 being promo singles?

Stupid Hoe has been sent to music TV though. I saw it twice last night

These days, what's the difference?

Yeah, Starships is lead single and the other two were buzz/promo singles. I also heard Roman Holiday was going to be released as a promo single after the Grammys performance.

These days, what's the difference?

There's clearly a difference, since songs like Meet Me Halfway and Titanium flopped as promo singles, and then got to #1 when released as proper singles 6 months later.

Love "Starships". Hope it's a hit for Nicki!

Next To Me  to #9 (single version still at #2)

Also Read All About It, Part III  to #39!

Nicki's song I imagine will be on iTunes in the next few days, since she's on Lil Wayne's label, and they never hold songs back. Always on air, on sale.
I hope Emeli can manage the Number 1 over all.

Starships is THE TITS.

If they held it back, it'd be MASSIVE. Tbh I can see it building up (like Super Bass) and ending up everywhere.

Emeli combined now 84.4% of Fresh combined (excluding his EP and lower versions obv). This could be a pretty close battle if Emeli does overtake any time soon :o

I'm firmly team Fresh but I like Next To Me as well.

Its not gonna be close - the only way Sande has a chance is if she gets the iTunes #1 spot and gets the #1 effect that Fresh currently has - given he has that (and her top version is too far away / decreasing due to the album version being top 10), it should easily see him past the post with about 10k to spare.

Plus, Fresh has EP sales and Sunday sales for all versions - Sande only has that for her top (single) version.

I get the feeling that Emeli is going to be really far ahead combined by the end of the week which may be enough to overhaul DJ Fresh's headstart. I dunno, maybe it's just me being pessimistic :P

Emeli will most likely climb to #1 next week anyway if she doesn't get there this week (I hope that does happen because I do love both songs and want both to be #1 - Emeli will most likely sell more overall so is probably more 'deserving' of #1 really but if they can both get a week at the top that'd be perfect).

If Emeli and DJ Fresh both prove to be massively frontloaded then I suppose Gotye might return to #1 next week. Gym Class Heroes' new one is out too but I can't see that challenging. And then there's the BRITs but I doubt anything will have anywhere near as big an effect as Someone Like You last year.

Titanium flopped as promo single? Was that irony or are you serious? :D

I hope you were just joking :D

Titanium went top 10 on iTunes was top 20 officially without any promo, video, radio support (that's why it's a promo single). What were you expecting? Shooting to number 1 as a buzz single?

Anyway Titanium was finally released fully because it was such a big hit everywhere as a promo single.

I didn't know Meet Me Halfway was released as a promo single at all

 29. Rolling In the Deep - ADELE

 34. Someone Like You - ADELE

Surprised these are still climbing :o Maybe both of them could be back in the top 40 this week? 40th week in the top 40 for Someone Like You if so! (I'm sure it'll get there next week with the BRITs if it doesn't this week anyway though :P)

Other Adele songs top 300: #55 Set Fire To The Rain (hasn't climbed since I last did an Adele update), #88 Make You Feel My Love, #154 Turning Tables, #167 Rumour Has It.

-x-

 74. Ni**as in Paris - JAY Z & Kanye West

:cheer: Get that top 75 SMASH.
