March 2, 201213 yr I wrote it when IWDWS was higher on Itunes than IWALY. Obviously things changed in the final chart. But IWDWS had two versions top 40 (maybe even top 30 - I wasn't around much to see the effects properly) and when IWDWS did overtake IWALY it was only a couple of places higher, so combined IWALY was further ahead.
March 31, 201213 yr Not a “death effect”, but when Kylie Minogue was diagnosed with breast cancer, Giving You Up climbed 5 places to #46 in the singles and Ultimate Kylie climbed 20 places to #28 in the albums on the week ending 21 May 2005.
June 3, 201213 yr Author Updated - as none of their singles re-entered the official top 100 I've listed Bee Gees as a minor death effect. I know the 'Number Ones' album went top 5 again but this list only covers effect on the singles chart.
October 1, 201212 yr Author Updated with Andy Williams. It's been a while since I last did an update here so I've quite possibly missed some other minor ones in the mean time.
