Abba released very few of their tracks to other compilations, with the exception of "Chiquitita". "Waterloo" may well be on some Eurovision compilations, but i don't think "SOS" or "Fernando" will have added very much. I'd expect the total for "Bohemian Rhapsody" to be up there, single sales and compilation sales included.

I have two Eurovision compilation CD's and Waterloo is on both.

I have none in physical form, although I bought "21" for my mum and have both "Morning Glory" and the Queen album on my iPod.

I only own Gold and Dark Side of the Moon.

I think my brother has DSOTM, but I've never been that impressed with it myself.

Really? No singles at all? (forgive my ignorance, but I don't have a tracklisting!) Why'd people buy it then in their millions???

Precisely BECAUSE it had no singles, so people were getting a whole album's worth of Beatles songs unavailable anywhere else.

I actually own 5 of these. Dire Straits (I was very young don't judge me) Abba, Oasis and the two Michael Jackson ones. The other 5 I don't want to own.. ever

'21' is the only one of those I personally own but I suspect my mum has copies of The Dark Side Of The Moon and Brothers In Arms somewhere.

Are you gonna keep that Username if "The Hump" wins? :)

I own none of that list. Actually, I think I only own a couple of million selling albums tbf. Maroon 5's Songs About Jane is the only one I can think of on the top of my head... The Kooks' Inside In/Inside Out was a million seller too I think... (Though I'm not even sure I still have that.)

I think you'd need a slightly more in depth answer than that to say why Pepper sold so many.

It was considered to be the absolute pinnacle of British Pop Culture, which basically ruled pop at the time.

I think the expectation that will be heaped upon whatever 21's follow up is called will pale into insignificance compared to the expectation that built up for Pepper.

Oh yeah, I actually own five albums on that list.

Four of the other five are absolute piffle and I really can't be arsed to listen to the other one.

Do tell :D

Even though I have never actually listened to Sgt pepper as such, of the 12 tracks on it (not counting the reprise of Sgt Pepper) I know 8 of them. I suspect many people are the same, being familiar with most of the album even though they don't actually own it. I can't imagine there is any other album that even approaches such familiarity.

Studio albums-wise "Morning Glory"? Of ten proper tracks you have four top 2 singles plus "Cast No Shadow", "She's Electric", "Morning Glory" itself and "Champagne Supernova" and the other two ("Hello" and "Hey Now!") probably got a few radio spins at the time as well.

As regards UK Shipments, yesterday, The BPI gave Adele's

'21' a 15th Platinum Award.

It is now the UK's 'Most Certified Album'.

However, if every huge Album got the UK Platinum Awards

that it is entitled to, (for Shipments), then 'Greatest Hits',

by Queen', should have about 19 or 20, 'Sgt Pepper....',

by The Beatles, should have about 17, & 'Gold', by ABBA,

should have 16 or 17 etc.

THE UK ALBUMS WITH THE MOST BPI PLATINUM AWARDS

1 Platinum Award = a Shipment, (to UK Stores), of 300,000 copies. The BPI did not start giving Awards until
