She's still thinking it's going to happen:

Amelia Lily has revealed that she is "feeling positive" about her debut album. The singer was scheduled to release her first studio collection Be A Fighter earlier this year, but decided to delay the set to work on new material.

"I decided to go back in the studio and write more material as I wanna make sure my album's perfect," Lily told the Daily Star. "I feel like I'm a bit older than I was when I first went in the studio and know what kind of direction I wanna go down now, so I'm feeling positive." A new release date for Be A Fighter is still to be announced.

That's cause it's still scheduled to happen, nothing's been cancelled yet. :P She's just "doing a Stooshe" I think, delaying it to "work on new material" but really, it just needs some severe tweaking done to it.
I think they were right to not release it after single 1 but they left it too damn long between singles anyway, Shut Up should've been in November-time at least and then the album out then, and she could've and probably would have got an X Factor performance to go with it...
There were a lot of problems with the management. Primarily 'Shut Up' killed her, but it wasn't just the release strategy (terrible as it was) but the song. I love 'Shut Up' but if the album had been released off the back of it, it would have bombed.

I think you'd be right if she released it after its January release, but as I said, if she got an X Factor performance, the album could at least do *decently* (aka. better than it would otherwise). At least people would know she has an album out

Not really sure how I feel about her working on more material. Perhaps rather selfishly, I wanted an album that was exclusively Xenomania, and from what we've heard so far I think it was on track to be one of the best pop albums of the year. I hope she doesn't tweak it too much.

On another note, Shut Up gets a lot of unnecessary criticism. It wasn't the best choice of second single since she also had Truth Or Dare, but it still would have been a strong album track, and I'd consider Party Over to be the weak link of the three singles.

I love how she has suddenly divulged a massive ego...

"Personally I always believe that perfection takes time - you can't rush perfection. I'm just one of those people."
Nothing wrong with her believing her work is perfect or wanting it to be so
Yes, because all perfectionists are really just up themselves.
you can't rush perfection

And anyway, she's fiddled about with this far too much. The more you try to make something perfect the more you destroy it. She should have just stuck with the original product.

So you'd rather she put out something she wasn't happy with and let it flop? It'll flop anyway but surely she'd just want to make it the best she can, not sure she's destroying anything that way, especially as we've not heard anything since the release was delayed?

Just because she isn't happy with it, it doesn't mean the UK public wasn't going to be. As an artist she'll always be looking to critique her own work and improve, but she could have made those improvements for the second album, considering the first was almost at its impending release date and she had released artwork, photoshoots and has now had more than a couple of singles from it.

It wouldn't surprise me in the slightest if the new material she's written for the album is completely different to the singles and thus rendering them an untrue representation of the album. It doesn't matter if we haven't heard it either. She obviously had a complete album and so has now gone back on that and thinks it's not good enough. She's not exactly going to make an impression on what music means today, so she should just give up already. What a disastrous way to start her career...

I'd rather she put out something she was 100% behind rather than something she wasn't too happy with. The former means she'll have put her all into making something that she's happy with, surely that's better than just chucking out whatever? It didn't work for Heartbreak On Hold, did it?

Do people really believe Amelia is having any say in any of this whatsoever? It hasn't been released yet because her label are panicking about the fact that each single is flopping worse than the last and think they need to scrap the album in case it bombs and throw some new stuff together and add the singles in the hope people might like the new direction. None of it has anything to do with what Amelia thinks of the music.

I hate the new release 400 singles before the album and wait 18 months after first single to release album thing flop artists seem to be constantly doing these days. The albums just burn out quicker.

It's quite plainly obvious it'll never happen at this stage.

TBF it's just in the same situation as Stooshe's album, and we got that in the end. I wouldn't write it off JUST yet.

Just because she isn't happy with it, it doesn't mean the UK public wasn't going to be.

She is an artist before she is a commercial popstar. At the end of the day the opinion of the public should never come before the opinion of the artist. Were I an artist who'd left people waiting quite a while, I'd feel a tad pressured to get an album out but I'd really dislike having to release something I wasn't happy with. Being rushed = throwing things together. It's just not satisfying.

That said, this entire discussion is pointless anyway. That line is quite clearly "my label wouldn't put it out and this is the excuse they gave me". Her ego really doesn't come into it.

She didn't have any input into the tracks whatsoever though, so surely the team who are writing and producing the album would make that decision if they're the ones actually working on it?

We all know the real reason why this has yet to be released anyway though.
