New releases always seem to be a bit higher than iTunes suggests in the mid-weeks I've noticed. Some of them have EPs and remixes, although I'm not sure if Dot Rotten does.

And there are other download sites as well. The Official chart is not the itunes chart, although iTunes have a large proportion of it.

iTunes's share of the official chart has surely decreased to what it used to be.

When was that the itunes chart started having most of the share? I remember when the CD's had most of the influence on the peak positions of songs.

I have no idea to be honest. Maybe around 2007 or something?

Gnarls Barkley's "Crazy" was the first song to get #1 off downloads alone, and that was in April 2006. After that i guess there's been a huge rise in downloads and decline in CDs.

Stooshe combined are now ahead of Tinchy Stryder/Pixie Lott :(

I predict Tinchy & Pixie will debut this week at #07.

212  #32 :D

Pity Hangover and Sorry For Party Rocking will overtake this soon, I really hope it can go top 40 this week.

Rack City  #29 - new iTunes peak. It could creep into the top 40 this Sunday! :o

Damn, knew it would get there eventually :( hope it doesn't stick around long

Nicki starting to build up a nice lead over Emeli. Perhaps she could still get #2 officially on Sunday! I sure hope so!

It's already been around for ages anyway. I can't see it getting much bigger than this tbh, unless Radio 1 magically playlist it one day.

Nicki just needs to release the video and she could easily get to number 1, I do somehow get the sense she's just gonna leave it too late and that it will get denied constantly by new releases or something :(

I know! I need the video soon!! -_-

FINALLY! That's one good urban song in the top 40 then.

05. Tinchy Stryder & Pixie Lott - Bright Lights 46.9%

06. Dj Fresh - Hot Right Now 43.2%

07. Stooshe - Love Me 42.3%

Tinchy decreasing quite fast now, I still believe it should debut this week at #07 as it will no doubt overtake Marcus Collins become Sunday, quite good consedering the poor airplay tbh

112. I Can't Stop - Flux Pavilion

I guess this must have only just been released everywhere then, unless there's a reason it's suddenly charting both here and (surprisingly) in the USA. It's sampled on Jay-Z and Kanye West's 'Who Gon Stop Me' but that came out ages ago! Hope this can get him a third 'hit' :D

It appears on the Kony 2012 campaign video - which is becoming an international video sensation.

Other notable tracks used in the video are;

290. The Naked & Famous 'Punching in a Dream'

686. Mumford & Sons 'Roll Away Your Stone'

Next week would have been a fantastic chance for Nicki to release her video in the Uk, She's been A-Listed on Radio1 starting from next week. I don't think Nicki will get to number one with Starships, but it should somehow manage to outsell Superbass.
