Katy Perry's performance was awful and I used to be her biggest fan! The song is a total rip off of 'He About To Lose Me' by Britney.

You do know that Part Of Me was recorded before HATLM?

Katy shouldn't be releasing this cash cow of an album. She should've just taken a break and come back a year after TOTGA's release.

It's this single which just seems to be cashing in on the break-up with Russell Brand i have a problem with. She wrote it ages ago, so seems weird her releasing it now, especially as it sounds exactly like 99% of TD :lol:

I suppose it is good to keep public interest though, by always having a new single out.

Prior to the release of 'Teenage Dream', Katy Perry was very fortunate to have been involved in two massive hits; 'Starstrukk' and 'If We Ever Meet Again' in 2009/2010. Like you say, by keeping in public interest it helps keep her career running successfully.

Looks like Hangover might not even outsell/outlast Troublemaker then if it's already plummetting :o

Itunes Album Pre-Orders thingmy

Katy = 30

JLS = 31

Pre performances there was about 40 places between them

Wonder what snow patrol will perform, its over a month since the latest single came out?!

Ok I stand corrected then! It's still an awful song tho.

Is Hangover any good? i have not heard it yet but if tits anything like Troublemaker i dont think i want to

It sounds exactly like 'Where Them Girls At'

Katy hasn't really climbed much at all - perhaps her being #1 isn't such a foregone conclusion then :o

If you listen to the version from 2010 (it's on Youtube somewhere), it has different lyrics to new version, so she probably did adjust some of it to fit Russell Brand.

I don't see any problem with that though. So many artists refer to their personal life in their songs.

To be fair, both those songs flopped in the US I think (well, I think Timbaland might've released his song with Drake in the US instead of Katy's song, I'm not sure), so they probably didn't help her much there, yet California Gurls was still the best-selling song of 2010. I think probably the fact that it was about a state in America, very summery, sounded like Tik Tok and Imma Be and the fact that Hot N Cold and I Kissed a Girl were such massive hits the year before probably helped her (and people liking the song of course :lol:).

JLS now 28

Katy now 29

After the month long stillness of the chart next week should actually be quite a good battle

OH i think i will give it a miss then.

Good decision. I heard that every time someone listens to a Taio Cruz song, a puppy dies! :o
