It finished last night, so she is too late for the promo. With all the rumours of her comeback single circulating for months I was sure she'd have it out by the end of the series :(

Digital sales are included, but they only count for like 55% of the chart now (or something like that). So it's possible to be #1 on iTunes with a massive lead and miss #1 (even the top 5). And you can get to #1 officially without ever reaching #1 on iTunes aswell. Rude Boy by Rihanna I think got like 6 weeks at #1 without ever getting #1 on iTunes.

I know right?! :) She's been touring extensively, doing all kinds of promos - from SNL to singing at a local Best Buy in Mineapolis! This also gives hope for others on the rise like Ed Sheeran.

The tour and SNL were a year ago and had no effect which is the most surprising thing. Lights went up to about 40 and then plummeted after SNL. Then she had the brief success in August where it shot up to about 45 and then plummeted and now she's actually getting somewhere great.

And Ed Sheeran is shit so Im hoping he doesn't get anywhere in the US.

I can see Ellie's next album going in top 20 actually. its sold 140,000 copies and if 50,000 of those people love it then they will buy it first week.

The one bad thing is that it took Lights so bloody long to take off that by the time it's peaked she'll be about to launch the second era in the UK. There's no time for any more singles from this album so it's not gonna sell as much as it could. That US Starry Eyed video is going to waste :lol:

I don't even know why they bothered doing a second video. The first one was pretty good.

Call Me Maybe is only 15% behind Gotye now.

If Lights takes off in the US (both single and album), my guess is they'll promote Starry Eyed in the US and postpone album #2 launch in the UK.
