65. Survival - Muse

Underperforming quite significantly :( I thought this would surely go top 10 as least like 'Neutron Star Collision (Love Is Forever)'!

Ellie back up to five. Looking set to pass Gotye and his nice but hideously overrated song. Owl City will soon fall after the initial hype and then she will go top 3. Definitely number one contender (I think)

TBH, given her airplay rise and consistent sales, a #2 hit is guaranteed if not a #1. Her only threat as I see it is Katy Perry's Wide Awake but that's not really burning its way up the airplay chart as her former songs have. Ellie can catch her in no time....

C'mon Owl City keep climbing, would be incredible to see Carly Rae Jepsen number 1 & number 2 on iTunes!

11. Flo Rida - Whistle

12. Gym Class Heroes & Ryan Tedder - The Fighter

19. Cher Lloyd - Want U Back

27. Demi Lovato - Give Your Heart A Break

Ooft. Amazing for Owl & Carly! Also brilliant to see Cher climbing into the top 20! (Hard work pays off!) Nice to see GCH high with 'The Fighter' also. Great song.
Rita Ora  #60 :o Is it finished for her then?
^ I don't think Rita's career is finished lol. Maybe they'll give up on the song. I hope so. They should push R.I.P over there. I know it's different, but that's the point, it'll get her noticed more.
Nah I don't think she's finished. Rita will go top 10 soon. I'm sure of it. Has she even started promotion over there?
RIP is an awful song unless they get a Kanye West or Pitbull to do the Tinie rap. But agree, Rita's career is hardly over.... it's just beginning. She's got Jay Z's backing, that's nothing to take lightly!
I was only referring to it being over with this single... I'm aware that she'll take the "if at first you don't succeed" attitude.
WAIT, how on earth did Flo Rida - Whistle manage to climb from #11 to #05 in one night :o ?
You all do realize Owl City is horribly homophobic and religious? :S

Nothing inherently wrong with being religious. Homophobia is a different matter but I imagine 90% of the people supporting the song are only doing it for Carly anyway.

Carly or not, how do the homophobic opinions have an influence on the quality of song anyway?

Whistle  #4. Rita  #63

Well, even if you like the song, you might not want it to do well if you don't like the person behind it. Or at least, Medicated Soap wouldn't.

Both Good Feeling and Wild Ones did this exact thing as well :P Good Feeling was more like 15-5 and Wild Ones more like 20-5 but still the same general pattern.

Good to see Whistle finally picking up anyway (and now up to #4 as James said). Hope it can be as big as his previous 2 singles.

21. Cher Lloyd 'Want U Back'

64. Rita Ora 'How We Do (Party)'

The Rita Ora track hasn't grown on me yet, so it's not surprising that it hasn't risen immediately over in the US. Will be interesting to see whether it can recover on iTunes next week. On the topic of releasing 'R.I.P.', the whole Nneka 'Heartbeat' sample/Chase & Status has more appeal to the UK market in the first place - so uncertain whether they'll be as fond of it across the pond. I don't think replacing the rapper is necessary, Tinie Tempah is hardly a nobody in the US.

They could do a remix of R.I.P for the US, more like Drake's version of the song (and featuring him aswell if possible).

Or that illegal version on UK iTunes a while ago that was a mash-up of the two different songs, they could do something like that for the US release.

There is NOTHING anywhere that says Owl City (Adam Young) is homophobic. He's just highly religious, so some have ASSUMED that means he's homophobic, which I doubt, considering he's performed a duet with a girl whose video is about a girl fancying a gay man.
Are some of us seriously preaching others not to like a song because the singer is homophobic??!

He denied Grey's Anatomy the use of his music because they "promote a homosexual lifestyle". If someone like Chris Brown music it doesn't mean that he/ she praise what he did to RiRi, same with Owl City and homophobia.

This is a completely unsubstantiated rumour as far as I can tell...
