As much as I like 'Climax' and can see it doing well on fake downloads at the moment, I honestly can't see it getting number 1. It seems to be one of those long running number 3 or number 4 peaking hits to me. Maybe The Killers 'Human'-esque? Somethings telling me that it's not going to get all the way.

I think Climax will be quite frontloaded (not massively, but maybe like Alone again). It could have a massive chart run if like Heart FM, and those sorts of stations started playing it. But I don't remember any of them playing Burn, so I doubt they'll want Climax if they didn't play that.

I think something like:

8th Apr Carly Rae Jepsen - Call Me Maybe

15th Apr Carly Rae Jepsen - Call Me Maybe

22nd Apr Nicki Minaj - Starships

29th Apr Nicki Minaj - Starships

6th May Conor Maynard - Can't Say No

13th May Rita Ora ft. Tinie Tempah - R.I.P. (maybe Tulisa though, close battle I imagine)

20th May fun. ft. Janelle Monae - We Are Young (assuming they stick to this ridiculous release plan and don't do the right thing and release it soon)

27th May fun. ft. Janelle Monae - We Are Young

6th June Alexandra Burke - Let It Go

I also think that Mark Ronson & Katy B - Anywhere In The World could do it when the Olympics are on, but that's a couple of months past what we're forseeing here, though it has a May release atm.

8th Apr Carly Rae Jepsen - Call Me Maybe (Unless something happens I fully expect this to be #1)

15th Apr Carly Rae Jepsen - Call Me Maybe

22nd Apr Conor Maynard - Can't Say No (Apparently its now released on the 16th not 30th? I don't itunes has changed the date yet)

29th Apr Calvin Harris / Ne-yo - Let's Go (Surprised not many people have predicted this one. Its kinds generic but think it will be big, especially if the video comes out in the next 2 weeks)

6th May fun. ft. Janelle Monae - We Are Young (I suspect the label will bring this forward and can see it climbing to #1 around this week like 5-2-1)

13th May Rita Ora ft. Tinie Tempah - R.I.P. OR Tulisa. (Can't decide at the moment and it wouldn't surprise me if RIP is brought forward)

20th May fun. ft. Janelle Monae - We Are Young (climbs back to #1)

27th May fun. ft. Janelle Monae - We Are Young

Sadly, I think Starships has had its chance, it will certainly reclimb/peak but I can't see it. Never say never though.

You must be the world's biggest Nicki fan. :)

Her sales have already slipped for 2 weeks in a row, and were only 53.6k at best - almost never enough for a #1 nowadays...

Are people forgetting about... Jennifer Lopez - Dance Again (Featuring Pitbull) ??

8th Apr Carly Rae Jepson

15th Apr Carly Rae Jepson

22nd Apr Carly Rae Jepson

29th Calvin Harris ft. Ne Yo/Fun (I prefer this to be #1 since that week is my birthday, I would hate to see Carly/Nicki at #1, unless Fun is released a week early)

6th May Fun

13th May Tulisa/Fun

20th May Fun

27th May Fun

I have to agree with Simonf regarding Nicki Minaj track had its chance I don't think the video is going to do anything for the single now, its been top 5 for a while now and with Carly releasing early its got no chance.

Rita Ora's first solo effort is not really that good, personally the rap ruins the track.

I love to see a couple more of long chart runners at #1 I think Carly and Fun could just hog the top spot for a while. And the Conor Maynard single I don't think its #1 material, mind you saying that it seems quite a few of debut acts are having their first taste of a #1 record, and I think Conor will just miss out. Looking at the list most of the acts are aiming for their first #1 and Tulisa as her first solo effort. I'm just worried because the track title is the same as Fun, people are going to download the wrong track.

Who is Connor Maynard and why is everyone expecting him to get to Number One?

Even his Wikipedia article is very sparse

There is a difference - fun.'s is called We Are Young whereas Tulisa's is just called Young. :P

I really hope Carly and Conor both get #1. I think Carly's got it in the bag, and Conor's been consistently around the #70s on pre-orders for ages now on iTunes.

Just a random singer who came from YouTube (I think?) who is unfairly being dubbed a new/UK Justin Bieber. He's nowhere near that atrocious. There's a lot of hype around 'Can't Say No', I think it is likely to go to #1.

To me Connor Maynard just sounds like a watered down Justin Timberlake - if that was the intention with Bieber then whoever was behind Maynard's image has done a far more effective job.

That is a better comparison - 'Can't Say No' is very Justin Timberlake-y. This is not a bad thing in my books.

'Can't Say No' pretty much is Justin Timberlake. For a upcoming British artist, this song is so American is actually hurts.

I can already imagine the track having a complete non #1 run like 01-04-13-25-42-56-72-OUT -_-

Surely 'Can't Say No' will be competing with Justin Bieber's own 'Boyfriend' in the charts soon enough - sadly I don't think there's room for both - people are getting bored of teenage artists (male) and boybands - I mean JLS 'Proud' looks set for a mere 2 weeks in the top 40, having peaked at #6; down to #38 on iTunes.

W/E 07.04.2012 - Carly Rae Jepsen 'Call Me Maybe'

W/E 14.04.2012 - Carly Rae Jepsen 'Call Me Maybe'

W/E 21.04.2012 - Conor Maynard 'Can't Say No'

W/E 28.04.2012 - Calvin Harris - 'Let's Go (feat. Ne-Yo)'

W/E 05.05.2012 - fun. 'We Are Young (feat. Janelle Monae)'

W/E 12.05.2012 - Tulisa 'Young'

That's as far as I'm predicting for now - I'm hoping Tulisa doesn't grab a #1 with 'Young', the follow-up will ultimately flop (much like 'Rockstar' has for Dappy) and it's hardly going to be a contender for YTD #1 - would much rather fun. or Carly Rae Jepsen hold the top spot for a while.

Nicki Minaj is another mystery contender, possibly during 'Call Me Maybe' week 2 - the video could be an internet sensation, and Flo Rida 'Good Feeling' went 02-03-04-05-06-07-01, so its chart run thus far shouldn't be an indication that it'll never reach #1.

I can see

Carly Rae Jespen - Call Me Maybe

Conor Maynard - Can't Say No

Tulisa – We Are Young

fun. feat Janelle Monae – We Are Young

getting to the top spot. I only really care about Fun. getting there though!

8th April: Carly Rae Jespen

15th April: Carly Rae Jespen

22nd April: Connor Maynard

29th April: fun. (can see it being brought forward to around here)

6th May: fun.

13th May: Tulisa (with Rita Ora not far behind at #2. Can see it being an 'Earthquake' type hit)

20th May: fun.

How come nobody has mentioned Rebecca Ferguson's 'Glitter & Gold' (w/c 30/4) - just heard it and it sounds a dead cert for #1 to me!
Her last single bombed, I can't see this one doing much better (unless there's a ton of promo planned)

I think it has potential to be huge but radio won't get on board with her and her record label aren't lining up any promotion. Although she could be on Britain's got talent.
