March 31, 201213 yr I think the record company have done the RIGHT THING by actually pushing forward the release to this Sunday. So I think things can only go well for Carly and she'll do between 80-100k on week 1, entering the charts at #1. She should sell 400-500k in total which is not bad for an ex Canadian Idolist female teen-pop singer who is in her mid 20s. (how odd that we've had 2 ex Canadian Idolists have massive chart hits in a year, first Alyssa Reid and now this :o) Edited March 31, 201213 yr by Thermometer
March 31, 201213 yr Alyssa wasn't on Canadian Idol ftr, but she is Canadian and it's unusual to have 2 Canadian females having hits closes together! I'd say about 70-90k, nothing majorly amazing sales-wise but enough for no.1.
March 31, 201213 yr Voted 80k <100k but 'Call Me Maybe' might just scrape over the 100k sales barrier. Pretty much agree Thermometer that the record company have made the right decision to release this tomorrow rather than in another 3 weeks as originally planned.
March 31, 201213 yr I think that her sales would be over than 100.000 copies. We talk about the "pop hit" in this year. It's not something special but it reminds me the success of Sugababes with "About You Now". They are simple, but likeable to everyone (Except from hysterical people..)
March 31, 201213 yr *Jepsen :P I can see this going just over 100k next week. Edited March 31, 201213 yr by Bréyhound
March 31, 201213 yr Alyssa was on The Next Star: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Next_Star#Top_6 :) I think 80-100k for Carly, although over 100k would be great. :P
March 31, 201213 yr *Jepsen :P I can see this going just over 100k next week. Haha! This :D And I agree with the sales too, just over 100k :cheer: I HOPE!
March 31, 201213 yr It depends on how much Sean Paul sold this week I think and whether he was going up or not but I don't think she'll get the #1. Top 5 fo' sho' though. EDIT: Forgot about sales. 60k-80k this week I think. Edited March 31, 201213 yr by Umi
April 1, 201213 yr Alyssa was on The Next Star: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Next_Star#Top_6 :) I think 80-100k for Carly, although over 100k would be great. :P I knew she finished around 6th place on a talent show, so I assumed it was Canadian Idol :P Off topic, but did anyone predict Sean Paul to spend 3 weeks at #2 behind 3 different #1s. :o It looks like it could actually happen!
April 1, 201213 yr I'm actually surprised 'Call Me Maybe' is only #24 at the moment. Maybe it's going to suffer after all just like 'T.H.E.' did with the fake version going top 40 officially. I went on iTunes expecting to see the track top 10 already and was more surprised to see Alex Day higher. :o
