April 9, 201213 yr Thriller (the song) is my favourite ever Michael Jackson song! Billie Jean and Beat It are both fantastic! I should really buy this album some time!
April 9, 201213 yr I prefer 19 to 21  Oh me too! 21 is fairly good, it is a bit overrated though. I can say safely that Rolling In The Deep, Set Fire To The Rain and Someone Like You are among my favourite songs of all time however, even after a short period of time!
April 9, 201213 yr Adele :cheer: Great to see this at number 6. I knew it overtook Jacko's Bad and Pink Floyd but I didn't know it overtook Dire Straits as well. Go Adele, would like to see this keeping on going - I love watching future history and Adele's record breaking sales achievements are amazing. I love the singles taken from the album, I do wish they promoted 'Turning Tables' as it deserves to be top 40. Jacko again    Haven't heard the album in full, but then again almost everything from it was a single so I probably have  Beat It, Billie Jean and Thriller especially are AMAZING. OK Adele you can stop right there because you don't deserve to outsell Thriller :kink: Edited April 9, 201213 yr by Thermometer
April 9, 201213 yr I prefer Thriller. Talk of the devil! My second favourite MJ album! I guess this works better as a complete album, but Bad has the ultimate MJ singles imo (Dirty Diana, The Way You Make Me Feel, MITM etc)
April 9, 201213 yr Thriller, similarly to Bad, is an album I've never actually listened to but I still know pretty much all of it because of the sheer volume of single releases  Another great album from Jacko. Personal highlight is 'Billie Jean' - an uninspired choice but still.
April 9, 201213 yr So much travel news today. Someone on DS PM'd me to ask if Radio 2 always has so many breaks for travel news. No, it's because it's Easter Monday, people heading home!! I started a thread there. Edited April 9, 201213 yr by Common Sense
April 9, 201213 yr 04. (WHAT’S THE STORY) MORNING GLORY?- Oasis http://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/en/b/b1/Oasis_-_(What's_The_Story)_Morning_Glory_album_cover.jpg RELEASED; 1995 PEAK POSITION: 1 WKS ON CHART: 170 The biggest selling album of the 90s is up next, and if you were around and can remember the mid 90s you’ll know that it was a criminal offense not to own this album. Recalling the headiest days of Britpop it’s a timely reminder of a group at the height of their creative power and sold over 3 million by the time that decade closed. Wz_3ljfBass
April 9, 201213 yr My dad will be glad to hear Oasis at #4! :D I love all of the Oasis songs that I've heard!
April 9, 201213 yr What's The Story (Morning Glory) is a classic album and Oasis are one of my favourite bands of all time, it's an incredible album. Edited April 9, 201213 yr by Griff
April 9, 201213 yr Roll With It, what a crap choice, the weakest single from a fantastic album! IMO Champagne Supernova is the best song but too long to play at 7minutes.
April 9, 201213 yr Amazing that this is as high as #4 yet 'Be Here Now' with its ridiculous almost 700k in 3 days isn't even top 40. Yet another album I know most of despite not listening to it. 'Wonderwall' is my favourite song from it - another massively uninspired choice. 'Roll With It' should have beaten the battle for #1 with 'Country House' IMO.
April 9, 201213 yr GOLD: GREATEST HITS- Abba http://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/en/3/30/ABBA_Gold_cover.png RELEASED: 1992 PEAK POSITION: 1 WKS ON CHART: 503 With almost 10 years of solid charting behind it there seems no end to the lifespan of this collection (though a new compilation might change that). “Gold” topped the charts upon release in 1992, then again in 1999 (after the west end musical “Mama Mia” was launched) and in 2008 when that musical was transferred to the silver screen, and ranked as the 4th biggest album of the 90s and the 25th of the 00s when it sold almost 2 million alone. April 9, 201213 yr ABBA - best band ever in the world! ALL of their songs are fantastic! And it's great to be hearing One of Us - their last ever Top 10 hit! :(
April 9, 201213 yr Gold was also one of the first albums I ever heard, I remember dancing to it when I was 6! My mum loved ABBA, they were her favourite band when she was younger. :D Edited April 9, 201213 yr by Griff
April 9, 201213 yr Like Spice Girls, I generally can't stand ABBA but they have one song that's really good - 'Lay All Your Love On Me' in this case  So sad that that peaked so low when they had so many #1s with such bad, bad songs... (prepares for flamestorm) I wonder what #1 is... :P Edited April 9, 201213 yr by M.I.É.
April 9, 201213 yr 02. SGT PEPPER’S LONELY HEARTS CLUB BAND- The Beatles http://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/en/5/50/Sgt._Pepper's_Lonely_Hearts_Club_Band.jpg RELEASED: 1967 PEAK POSITION: 1 WKS ON CHART: 207 Perhaps the most “must have” album of the 60s, it cemented the place of the Beatles as one of the true giants in pop music history. Whilst no singles made it into the charts at the time, subsequent releases over the years have seen some chart action and covers have provided hits for Elton John and chart toppers for Joe Cocker, Wet, wet, wet, Sam & Mark (“With A Little Help From My Friends”) and Billy Bragg (“She’s Leaving Home”). According to some sources this was the best selling album of the 60s. 4xljFT44Y1Y
