Breathe Carolina back  to #17, Niggas In Paris now  to #18 - I'd be sad at NIP falling but it's done far far better than I'd ever have hoped for it to do anyway.

The Script still at #12, I'd love for them to climb back into the top 15 this week  fun. will overtake them any second now ofc.

"We Are Young" to #13. Will be top 10 by 12am I hope!

Please please please knock out 'Part Of Me'!

Hate the way jessie releases the video before radio play starts......she go top 40 with the video but stall in the top 15 until serious radio play begins!!

Like every UK act does that now, it's so annoying.

Yeah for the chart it would be perfect if they would coincide the radio and video premiere a la Price Tag!

I agree here. The artists should wait until the song is fairly well-known and until there's some level of anticipation for a music video so they can do like a big premiere of it. When music videos are released so early in their promotional campaigns, there's no demand or excitement for them I think. It's just like they pop out of nowhere for a song that most people don't know yet, so they don't really care.

I do quite like the LaserLight video though.

Exactly. Personally I'm a fan of waiting a couple of weeks after premiere/radio adds to put up the video. Putting it up a month in advance does nothing for post-album-release tracks and premiering a lead single with its video doesn't strike me as helpful either.

I think Laserlight will be massive in late May time!!

Pretty good to divert chat away from the Fun. thread lol!

I'd rather fun. be #1 for like a year than Laserlight be massive to be honest.

I like the instrumental, why am I not surprised that Jessie ruins it with her oversinging <_<

fun. at #12 - top 10 by tomorrow afternoon please :D oddly enough, the fake version is still at #27..

Yeah. I think Katy Perry's music videos were all released at great times (from a US perspective). E.T. was already #1 on iTunes when she premiered the video, Last Friday Night was just re-entering the top 20, The One that Got Away was just outside the top 10.

Yet there were a couple of songs last year that got music videos when they weren't even in the top 1000! If a song isn't even top 1000 on iTunes beforehand, the record label should be thinking of ways to hype up the song, considering why the song has so little interest, maybe debating whether it's a good single choice after all, not just casually premiering the music video. You can only do that once.

LaserLight was usually in the top 1000, and went top 300 a couple of time recently, so it's not that bad in this situation, but I remember some songs last year like You and I and Don't Stop the Party not being in the top 1000 when they got their music videos. Are they good single choices if they're not even in the top 1000 most downloaded songs? Shouldn't the record labels hype up the songs more to actually get them there? Those are two of the biggest artists in the world aswell.

The Part of Me video didnt do much for the single, its falling fairly fast!

Incidentally is the video for CMM doing the rounds on mtv yet?surely yes.....it could help it stall at no1 for longer if not!!

That's cause it's crap though. And for all we know the song might have fallen much faster without the premiere.

The Part of Me video seems quite poor, in the sense that it doesn't seem to have got people talking like most of Katy's other recent videos have. Usually I have no intention of watching her videos, but people talk about them so much that they seem interesting so I take a look, but nothing anybody has said has made me curious and watch the Part of Me video. Same with the You Da One video, I still haven't watched it.
Thats true its hard to know although any video is better than none!

I agree with that aswell. And I think if an artist isn't planning on making a music video, they should at least send one of their live performances to the MTV channels to play (like what happened with Someone Like You).

nicki minaj is the opposite to jessie - shes ripping the arse out of the wait for the Starships video.

Yea its another source of airplay isuppose...the POM video was random showing her fighting in the army.the TOTGA video was brillant though, very sentimental.

So is there a video for call me maybe yet then?

The worst was Girls Fall Like Dominoes. I was so excited for that video, since she said she was going to get all the women mentioned in the song to appear in the video (which would mean Keri Hilson, Rihanna, Ciara, etc. all in one video, HOW WOULD I COPE), and then it never surfaced. :( Still got to #24 though.

Drake and Lil Wayne annoy me too with videos. She Will was Lil Wayne's 4th single from his album, had massive sales in its first week, and got no video. Same with Make Me Proud which was Drake's 2nd single, yet he didn't make a video. Both those songs were really big in the US, but I wish they could've been promoted to their full potentials. And don't get me started on the Niggas in Paris video being released 3 months too late.

I never really enjoy watching them that much, just want the extra sales for the songs I like.

Yeah, Call Me Maybe has a video (I actually watched this one ). With Rack City since it unexpectedly blew up like it did, they made a new higher-budget music video for it, so I was thinking maybe they would've done that with Call Me Maybe, but I think the one they've got is pretty good tbh, it made me laugh.

Alex Care  to #42.

The Beatles  to #49.

Looks like The Beatles can re-enter the top 40 with "Here comes the sun" next week if they keep climing! Alex Care could possibly enter the top 40 this week if he keeps climbing

Lil Wayne and Drake - i lose touch with what single/album they are releasing they are on so much crap....i loved mirror though i have to admit!!

Yeah Starships has been filmed though which makes it annoying!!
