She was dropped by Jive after Basic Instinct bombed, and she's now signed with Epic Records (LA Reid).

She's been working on the album with Hit-Boy (Jay-Z and Kanye West Ni***s in Paris), Soundz (Rihanna Skin, Ciara Gimmie Dat) and Diane Warren.

Very excited for this. Basic Instinct was crap, but now she's with Epic hopefully she'll be managed a bit better, put out a decent record and make a good comeback.

I never picked up Basic Instinct, and I think I only got The Evolution last year. I barely listen to her, but another album's gonna be great! Will have to listen to all her albums again and also buy the fourth one. :)

Basic Instinct wasn't that bad, it did have a few good tracks. Certainly a step down from Fantasy Ride (which was amazing) though, I really hope she goes back to at least the quality of The Evolution.

One of my favorite pop/R&B albums of 2010. So good. Can't wait for this.

I liked Basic Instinct well enough, though it really was rather... basic and I do hope she delivers something much better this time round. Thank goodness she's escaped Jive.

This bitch went seriously off the boil seriously fast. The Evolution remains one of the best R&B albums of the 00s though.

Ciara always has at least 3 or 4 really decent songs from each album. I'm excited for new material and I'm with Jark, 'The Evolution' was stunning.

I LOVE Ciara, cant wait for this album, hopefully Epic can bring her back to being relevant. Personally I've felt she's got better with each album, Evolution was fairly weak for me obviosly apart from the obvious Like A Boy, Promise and My Love.

"The Evolution" has definitely been her peak! I feel like she's been trying to repeat the sound of "Lose Control" (and failing miserably).

I LOVE HER SO MUCH. Excited for the album. :wub:! 'Fantasy Ride' is my fave album from her. 'Basic Instinct' is getting too much hate on here and was a very good album, 'Gimme Dat' and 'Turn It Up' are GEMS.

So excited for this, not convinced it will do well considering the last two albums, but I love Ciara so Im excited none the less.

She looks all kinds of fierce. Very excited for this, wish she'd have less filler on her albums though coz she has such great potential to do better than she does.

It's certainly not her best, but I do love the chorus a lot though. Obviously excited for the video, with her more than most artists, the video makes me like the song more. This may or may not be because I then wish I was her and could dance like her too.

 

As for this setting the charts alight? I don't see it unfortunately. :(

Quite dissapointed, Im a huge Ci fan but this just isnt what she needs to put her back on top. Seeing as this is a chance for a comeback I feel like the lead single needs to be huge not the following single or anything like that because radio might have given up by then.

I love this! Pretty much exactly what I was hoping for.

Really excited for the album now.

I quite like this - as with 'Ride', though, it has a really slick beat that just goes on too long without anything changing up around it, so it gets a bit boring. She could do with cutting the songs down a bit sometimes.

 

She should try and land a few high-profile guest spots to boost her chart profile again - if only Missy Elliott was still popular. </3
