I would say Andru Donalds - Michale. I don't know why it wasn't successful in U.k when it was popular all over the world in 1994. I think that it never released in U.k.

Surely we can add Cher Lloyd Sirens to this list?
Snoop Dogg, Bruno Mars & Wiz Khalifa - Young, Wild & Free. Hear that loads & it never charted in UK.
Wasn't Lykke Li's 'I Follow Rivers' a massive hit all over Europe (particularly The Magician Remix), but didn't manage to chart here?

^ Agree about Lykke Li's "I Follow Rivers". It was a huge hit over in Ireland, got massive TV and radio airplay, got to no2 in the Irish singles charts, but never charted in the UK. Going back to the early 2000's, Gigi d'Agostino's "La Passion" was another massive hit in Ireland, did really well in the Irish charts, but never charted in the UK either.

How about "Fallen" by Lauren Wood? It was on the "Pretty Woman" soundtrack, you still hear it quite a lot these days on the radio, it's seen as a classic, but it never charted in the UK either, which is a real shame. It's a gorgeous song.

And it technically did chart (but only JUST, reaching no74 - thanks Polyhex!), but "Stem" by DJ Shadow. What an amazing piece of music! You still hear it used loads as backing music/in advertisements.

Safe and Sound by Capital Cities (#42), One Day / Reckoning Song [Wankelmut Rmx] by Asaf Avidan & the Mojos (#30), Lights by Ellie Goulding (#49) and Fergalicious (#105) by Fergie. All songs that were big worldwide but failed to impact the UK chrats!

REM - Losing My Religion comes to mind.

Also, Paul Van Dyk - For An Angel, considered one of the iconic songs of trance, yet it missed the top20 and isnt even one of his biggest hits.

For An Angel

Though both for that matter.

I wouldn't class some of the songs mentioned as "true classics" though.

My first initial thought was 'Summer Of 69', one of my favorite songs of all time., from a chart perspective anyway.

Dolly Parton's 9 to 5

75-54-60-{47}-51

I'm sure I've mentioned this song before but it completely blew me away when I learned it never even made top 40. It did get number one in America though.

Basically nothing from Dolly was a hit the UK!

She's only had 2 UK hits

Jolene and Islands In The Stream (both #7)

And it technically did chart (but only JUST, reaching no74 - thanks Polyhex!), but "Stem" by DJ Shadow. What an amazing piece of music! You still hear it used loads as backing music/in advertisements.

It's an astonishing creation and one of my favourite pieces of music ever.

I can't make you love me by Bonnie Raitt

Woman in me by Carleen Anderson

Nothing can stop us - Saint Etienne

In and out of love - Armin van Buuren

Give me one reason by Tracy Chapman

Pretty by The Cranberries

Bring'em all in - Mike Scott

I don't know - Ruth Brown

Kissing you - Des'ree

Your thoughts and mine - Tarnation

This love - Craig Armstrong featuring Liz Fraser

Love theme from Spartacus - Terry Callier

Tiny dancer - Elton John

i'love to change the world - Ten years after

The ghetto - part 1 by Donny Hathaway

Someday we'll all be free - Donny Hathaway

Julia by Pavlov's dog

Ok some of them are not classics for everybody

The Association - Windy from 1967 - briefly made the breakers chart.

Ozark Mountain Daredevils - Jackie Blue - US number one! 1974

Lulu - To sir with love 1967

The Osmonds - One Bad Apple 1971 - how was that not a UK hit with the cartoon series they had!

Paul McCartney - Uncle Albert

Sammy Davis Jnr - Candy Man - song from the Charlie and the Chocolate Factory movie, though not sung by him in the film.

Harry Chapin - Cats in the cradle 1974, but the song was a hit later on for a group.

Executive Suite - When The Fuel Runs out - Featured on a K-Tel album from 1974 - when the fuel crisis was on!

Cherly Lynn - To Be Real - classic disco from 1979.

Foo Fighters have a few tracks that were very moderate hits, but are very well remembered:

'Everlong' (18-38)

'My Hero' (21-out of the Top 40)

'Learn To Fly' (21-40)

Tiny dancer - Elton John

I know it's not the same, but this song kind of did become a chart hit as Ironik and Chipmunk sampled it.
