A really good vocal performance (and the emotion was strong yet again) from Carolynne - I like her, but I find her a bit boring. If she gets through, I hope to see something different. Nicola was awful, I felt really bad for her, she was obviously nervous but it's nowhere near good enough. Brad is far too arrogant for an act who isn't very good - his voice always sounds strained. I don't like Melanie's shout-singing style, but I enjoyed parts of her performance. I liked Kye's performance (and like him as an artist). It was a shame about the note towards the end. Probably my favourite act from the over's category though. Christopher is another act that annoys me to high heavens. He gave a decent performance but sounded strained at times. There's still many acts I'd prefer to see get through over him.

I must admit some of those acts can crack in the live shows, there are some nerves showing notably in Jehmenne, Lucy and Christopher.
It seems like tonights show has all been about James Arthur. Twitter is going mental for this guy. He's had tweets from Harry (OneD), Perrie (Little Mix), Amelia Lily, Misha B...the X Factor past contestants are loving him!

Too bad he's nothing special then.

Hmm, John Arthur is alright but if he were to win, I really can't see him being successful in the longterm. I guess having brilliant singles to his name will help but that's left to be seen.

I just YouTube'd him as I didn't know which one was John Arthur ( :P ) and watched the group performance of 'How To Save A Life' from last week. A song I truly can't stand in its original form but John actually made the song bearable. However, the other two young lads almost had me lmao at their awkward singing. To hear Gary Barlow then say "all three are incredible" must sum up the boys category. :D

Who I want to go through.

Boys:

James Arthur - 'I Can't Make You Love Me' by Bonnie Raitt

Nathan Fagan-Gayle - 'Beautiful Monster' by Ne-Yo

Adam Burridge - 'SOS' by Abba

Jake Quickenden - 'Back for Good' by Take That

Rylan Clark - 'We Found Love' by Rihanna

Jahmene Douglas - 'Titanium' by David Guetta

My favourite from that category was Jake, I also liked Rylan showing that he can actually sing when he doesn't do his Ibiza act. However Jahmene was easily the worst for me. He comes across as an unlikeable character for me, if he brings out the "OMG I get nervous" sob story again... :drama: Maybe it's because he tried to sing that song but his voice sounded really shouty.

Groups:

Times Red - 'Ain't No Sunshine'/'Let's Get It Started'

Mitsotu - 'Hey Ya' by Outkast

MK1 - 'Just Be Good To Me' by Professor Green

Union J - 'Call Me Maybe' by Carly Rae Jepsen

Poisonous Twin - 'Freak Like Me' by Sugababes

Duke - 'The Way You Make Me Feel' by Michael Jackson

GMD3 - 'Bless the Broken Road' by Rascal Flatts

Duke were really terrible  Union J are OK and they can sing but there are a lot of boybands in this category and the ones I've highlighted are stronger vocally.

Girls:

Jade Ellis - 'Stand By Me' by Ben E King

Amy Mottram - 'Read All About It' by Emeli Sandé

Leanne Robinson - 'Hurt' by Christina Aquilera

Jade Collins - 'It Must Have Been Love' by Roxette

Lucy Spraggan - 'I Will Always Love You' by Whitney Houston

Ella Henderson - 'I Won't Give Up' by Jason Mraz

Lucy's performance wasn't that good but I'm sure if she makes the finals she'll have songs more suited to her style. I didn't dislike any of this category, they were all good. I thought Leanne should've got a bit more airtime but having said that she isn't in my top 3.

Overs:

Carolynne Poole - 'When You Say Nothing At All' by Ronan Keating

Nicola Marie - 'Tragedy' by Steps

Brad Shackleton - 'The Final Countdown' by Europe

Melanie Masson - 'Everytime You Go Away' by Paul Young

Kye Sones - 'Payphone' by Maroon 5

Chris Maloney - 'All Out of Love' by Jagged Edge

Chris annoys me with the nervous act except this time he's actually alright at singing. I didn't like Nicola and Brad's performances. Carolynne was the best out of this group for me.

The only songs suited to Lucy's 'style' is Kate Nash's debut albu

.

You just know that Lucy will finish something like 3rd or 4th in the live finals. Even when she gives her worst performance on Mariah Carey week, the public will still vote her through to the following week.

It really depends on her nerves as they are beginning to show she could get a crap week where she is not comfotable with the theme and out she goes.

I can see one of the boy bands really doing well under Louis, Union J, probably the new Westlife  On the whole the group category is naff, the two girls probably end up getting their own TV show down the line, if they manage to get through to the lives.

One of Poisonous Twin is Stephanie McMichael from Big Brother, she was out first in 2008 :o

Anyway, I predict the following to go through (wildcard in brackets if they do it):

Girls

Ella Henderson

Lucy Spraggan

Jade Ellis

(Leanne Robinson)

Boys

Jahmene Douglas (:()

Nathan Fagan-Gayle

Rylan Clarke

(James Arthur)

Groups

GMD3

Union J

Poisonous Twin

(MK1)

Overs

Carolynne Poole

Melanie Masson

Kye Sones

(Christopher Meloney)

----

However I would choose:

Girls

Ella Henderson

Jade Ellis

Leanne Robinson

(Amy Mottram, she has bad habits and I love Lucy but she would suit songs whereas Lucy's act would get REALLY annoying)

Boys

Nathan Fagan-Gayle

Adam Burridge

Jake Quickenden

(idk, anyone but bloody Jahmene)

Groups

MK1

Poisonous Twin

Times Red

(Union J)

Overs

Carolynne Poole

Melanie Masson

Kye Sones

(Nicola Marie, for the hell of it )

I can see a shock or two, Gamu style, coming though... I don't know who it will be but I have a horrible feeling it might be one of the 3 strong overs being ousted over Christopher....

My predictions for who will go through, and who will be the wildcard pick in brackets if there is certainly one for the first show:

Girls:

Ella Henderson

Lucy Spraggan

Jade Ellis

(Amy Mottram)

Boys:

Jahmene Douglas

James Arthur

Rylan Clarke

(Jake Quickenden)

Groups:

GMD3

Union J

MK1

(Times Red)

Overs:

Carolynne Poole

Melanie Masson

Kye Sones

(Christopher Maloney)

Who I hope goes through:

Girls:

Ella Henderson

Jade Ellis

Leanne Robinson

(Amy Mottram)

Boys:

James Arthur

Nathan Fagan-Gayle

Jake Quickenden

(Jahmene Douglas)

Groups:

Union J

M.I.T.S.O.T.U

Times Red

(MK1)

Overs:

Carolynne Poole

Melanie Masson

Kye Sones

(Nicola Marie for the entertainment)

I said this earlier, she also got kicked off Pop Stars The Rivals for lying about her age (being too young)

I didn't realise until yesterday, there was one particular close-up and I was like 'oh my god it's her!' I did know about PopStars though and I think it's on YouTube.

Only really went with GMD3 due to a lack of options

James Arthur is really good, I can't see why he's getting a lot of hate. He's so much emotion in his voice. Different to everyone else in the male catergory. Again my only worry is that he's not that versatile, can't see him doing Ibiza tracks.

We don't WANT Ibiza tracks. But Rylan can provide them if needs must.

My problem with James isn't his voice at all (which is ALRIGHT but there were some better singers for the males that didn't make-guy with a kid being one of those) but it's the fact that he completely overdoes the sob story.

My parents are divorced WAH! I had to live on the streets because of this WAH! My parents are in the same room for the first time in like forever just to support me WAH! I don't look like a typical popstar WAH!

All he needs is a mad/emotional gran, a 3 year old kid, his REAL birth mother to finally make contact and mention of him being bullied in school and then we may as well just end the competition there. We'd already have our winner.

That's exactly why I don't watch the auditions :D At the end of the day, the producers are obviously the ones telling them to milk their sob stories. Obviously it makes good TV.

Except for one thing, he's actually interesting. Rule #1 of X-Factor, if you're male you have to be dull as shit to win!
