I thought it was dire tonight. At one point I actually thought the sound on my telly must have gone a bit Pete Tong and changed over to Sky News to check. Alas, all was fine. Which is more than can be said for the X Factor contestants... <_<

I turned over as soon as I head Gary and Louis saying 'they've definitely improved since last time' (about a couple of boybands) and they were absolute SHITE! Feck knows how bad they were the last time they heard them.

I've actually mellowed (or can't be arsed) about Gary Barlow now (he isn't worth the waste of thought) but hubby said 'I wouldn't piss on that guy if he was on fire'. I was quite impressed ... my fella has never been this worked up since he saw Lady GaGa in a bacon bikini! I think I'm on a promise tonight!!!!

The moral of the story? Mess up at bootcamp and you'll still go through

Thought the talent shown was relatively average and those that did stand out were left with a small montage clip. I know The Voice was a bit of a flop once it got to the live shows, but I loved their auditions and battle rounds. Genuine talent

Oh and I officially hate boybands. "They've improved so much" Really? How awful did they sound in the first place?

Absolute cringe last night. I hate that they let people to bootcamp and then drop them immediately. It's not even interesting to watch so why bother? Also the bands are crap. Having energy surely isn't enough to win a singing contest? For the first load it actually felt to me like the judges were throwing away the good ones and keeping the ones with a story. Lucy Spraggan was awful furthering the idea that she's a one trick pony. As for the 'homeless' guy, good riddance, such a poor attitude to work, it's no wonder he's homeless.

I was thinking this

At least give them a chance to sing again or don't put them through at all if you don't think they're good enough

Probably the reason why

Louis has been given this category - the poor sould never gets an even-break. I wouldn't be surprised if Barlow had INSISTED that he himself gets given the 'overs' which - according to all reports is the strongest (and I use the term 'strongest' very, very loosely) category this year.

.

That spoiler probably wasn't necessary - but just being careful in case there's anyone left in the UK that doesn't know who has what category.

I'm worried for Lucy Spraggan if she gets further, she wasn't comfortable singing without her guitar, she won't be able to do that every week in the live shows. Her audition last night was a bit... ropey.

They should cap the number they can take through like on the Voice.

But seriously it's only done to 'shock' the audience in a MEGA XFACTOR SHOCK TWIST WTFZOMG!!!!!!! but since it was done last year it's not even shocking anyone. I'd have loved it if we saw them drop a sob story contestant. Some of the contestants are getting on my wick now because it's so obvious with the amount of screentime that they're through but they're looking teary eyed and blah blah blah. The tubby girl from Essex is getting on my nerves the most-I thought she was a lot weaker than the other they sent home.

Last night was indeed pretty bad, it really annoyed me how St. Jahmene was so awful and yet still sails through, same with Lucy - although I do actually like her it's best she doesn't make the live shows because she's fine at free choice but what happens when it comes to Madonna week or dance week or Britney week? She could sing pretty much anything with her usual acoustic arrangements but that would get so tedious by week 3 or 4 to be honest.

Melanie was by far the best last night, but naturally because she didn't have a tantrum, feel ill, forget the words or go flat, she gets all of about 10 seconds screen time.

I actually missed X Factor last night and can't really be bothered watching the repeat on ITV2.

However, anyone who has watched The X Factor since 2004 will know exactly who is through to the live finals. How? Because after certain auditions when they get through to bootcamp, a select few get the "snapshot" treatment where they freeze the screen and it turns black and white. It only happens with certain auditionees - these being the ones who makde the live finals.

It's like watching Deal Or No Deal and the voiceover says "up next on Channel 4, watch Lisa win £250,000 on Deal Or No Deal" and basically give away everything before the programme even begins.

I was just having a look at the remaining contestants, and I thought that my dream top 12 would be:

Girls

Ella Henderson

Jade Ellis

Leanne Robinson

(Amy Mottram if they're doing the whole 4 acts for each with a twist thing)

Boys

Nathan Fagan Gayle

Jake Quickenden

Adam Burridge

(dunno who'd be my 4th, it's a pretty weak catergory...)

Groups

MK1

GMD3

Poisonous Twin

(ditto the boys)

Overs

Melanie Masson

Carolynne Poole

Kye Sones

(Hayley Evetts)

I think it's surely an overs win this year, or perhaps a girl. Although obviously too early to say :P

And my vote for the moment would deffo go to Carolyn Poole of the overs.
I'm only really backing Carolynne Poole and Hayley Evetts, although that's for past glories really. Very poor year.

Why do we need 1 1/2 hours to cut 70 to 24. There's so much crap it should take about 5 minutes.

If Lucy sings covers badly she's blatantly wrong for the show. Will she be able to perform her own songs in the lives? And that standing ovation was ridiculous.

If Rylan Clarke gets picked I shall chuck my TV out of the window.
Tea & Toast is a BRILLIANT track and she is a talent but she won't be able to cope on Madonna week and dance week etc. as I said - she'd breeze Britain's Got Talent though I'm sure.
Jarmain should go out now. Firstly, he was poor yesterday. Secondly, he clearly cannot handle the pressure.
I swear to god Jahmene is genuinely quite possibly the single most overrated X-Factor contestant of all time
