Surely Carolynne & Ella have to be in the live shows they are the best this year and have real talent, & maybe Lucy.

I don't think Rylan is half as bad as people seem to make him out to be. Very annoying and overly gay/camp? Yes. But I think he can actually, genuinely sing. He's not "amazing" but he's not exactly bad either.

I agree. And he'd put one hell of a show on in the live shows if he's through!

I cannot get over how BAD the talent is this year.

 

The likes of Ella/Carolynne/James/MK1 wouldn't have gotten through a few years ago. Alexandra Burke's year was inncredible, with her, JLS, Diana, Laura, Rachel, Ruth who all really had star potential. This year there is NONE of that, and it's definitely going to be the weakest season ever.

Rylan is terrible because he thinks Ibiza is a genre of music and despite what he says I cannot believe he's taking it seriously. Plus there are way better singers. Who cares if he can put on a good show, I want to see great SINGING, not Lady Gaga wannabes who are always 'entertaining'.

 

Having said that the boys are the weakest category by far.

Rylan is terrible because he thinks Ibiza is a genre of music and despite what he says I cannot believe he's taking it seriously. Plus there are way better singers. Who cares if he can put on a good show, I want to see great SINGING, not Lady Gaga wannabes who are always 'entertaining'.

I just think with a two hour show or whatever is planned its impossible to sit through 12 acts with breathtaking voices and cringe worthy sob stories. It's said every year, but the show still needs to be fun for it to be watchable. That's why I got so bored of The Voice, because though the talent was there there was no spontinuity or 'fun'.

 

You'll still see great singing from the 11 others :lol: (and who knows Rylan might suprise us!!)

They made some shocking decisions, Triple J and Joseph Whelan not being put through? Two off top of my head thought was mad.

Yeah I guess they are pushing Rylan as the novelty act because there aren't any others, and the producers have probably MADE Nicole put him through.

Although James Arthur is good I dont think he will connect with the public as well as some of the other acts. I think the winner is in either Gary's or Tulisa's category, with Kye, Carolynne, Ella and Jade the most likely.

James Arthur is terrible. His voice is average to crap, he looks like he's in pain when singing. He topped almost everyone's sob story. Give me the guy with a kid any day.

I like James Arthur but yeah Joseph was WAAAAAY better.

I am pretty sure that Rylan is through to the lives. He has an interview with The Sun where he talks about what he planned for the shows, (including potentially using autotune). Like Jedward, Rylan has been the unfortunately obviously going to the live shows one, that will put in below par vocal performances week in week out, people will get worked up over it, only for them to get voted out in the last 6-8 contestants, then when the voting patterns are reviled they won't have ever been near the top of the voting.

I haven't a clue who Rylan is but from the comments I've read here, it sounds like he's already got a guaranteed spot on the X Factor Tour 2013.

 

It's sad that X Factor has been reduced to people with the ability of putting on a great visual performance, and even less emphasis on people with the ability of giving an outstanding vocal performance.

 

Don't know who it was (maybe T Boy) who was right in saying the 2008 series was by far the best. So much talent on display - ok, we can forgive the ugly Irish lad who finished 3rd. Him aside, there were some brilliant singers in that final - even JLS had the occasional ok performance on the live shows.

At the end of the day though it's an entertainment show isn't it? Look at Jedward. Ok they were shite, but they're the most talked about act (still) from their series. With the ratings, they need someone who will grab the headlines. You're always going to have decent singers, but you need personalities on there, especially in the times of social media. They've talked about using auto-tune for years, I reckon they've bitten the bullet this year.
