No. Not even in BJSC (in the One Big Final contests we use a 18, 15, 13-1 scoring system).
The pace isn't the only thing that makes a song different from the other, though :P I think there are a variety of songs in this contest, and I don't think a lot of songs merge into one another.. so either I'm misunderstanding something or we just look at things differently

:D Oh and I have an interesting idea for the final show; What if.. at the end of each post with votes, I give the name of the next participant in line to vote, and you can all guess what that person has sent for an entry - before I post the next votes! You'll get one point for each correct guess and I'll have an additional scoreboard ready for input and at the end of the results I will reveal the winner of that as well. It's a bit difficult, I know, but it will get easier to guess along the line, when there's fewer people and songs left. Just to add some additional fun into it ^_^

No problem! It's only fair to everyone involved if a group of people need a bit more time to vote, and I could also use some more time to prepare the results.

Sorry but that will slow down the results list a lot. I want the results as fast as possible.

Why?

There's generally a gap between posts anyway so it's only encouraging discussion between the votes. I like the idea.

No, it won't.

Tirren's votes:

Announcing the previous voter's song at the beginning of a new post is indeed a good idea!

Great! I'll arrange it then! :cheer:

No, it won't.

Oh. I was thinking about giving the name of the next voter and you'd guess what they have sent - before I post what they've sent and their votes.

Like this:

----------

Pavel sent ...

Pavel's votes:

- Guess what Dandy has sent!

----------

Dandy sent ...

Dandy's votes:

- Guess what Tirren has sent!

And so on...

Oh. Withdrawn. (This looks way better)
The only problem with Freeze's idea is that I really have no idea who sent what this time around, usually I have an inkling for quite a few but most this time could be literally anyone.

The deadline is over, and two people didn't vote:

Messiah

&

Horatio

Given I gave an extension I'm inclined to give them a points deduction, but I don't know if I should count their votes as well if they do vote before the results take place.

What do you guys think? Should I?

I agree, it's quite difficult, but that's what guessing and discussions are for :D Besides it will get easier the more people I reveal.

Deduction I'm afraid. Voting has now closed. Can't remember what happened in previous contests as to how much the deduction was.

Isn't it just -20 points to reflect the maximum they could gain from not voting?

A shame a couple of people didn't make the deadline but I agree that a deduction is fair.

Alright, then. But how about if they vote some time early tomorrow. Should I count their votes, but still give them a deduction?

Whoa, wait, the deadline was tonight? I thought it was until the end of the weekend after it got put forward!

Bugger :(

My votes will be in SOON (well, definitely before noon), I was just dealing with my BJSC votes first. APOLS, I've had a very busy weekend in London.

Hmm... I don't know about that :( Because I didn't say anything about an end of the weekend deadline (you should've made sure :drama:), and it wouldn't be completely fair given you've had quite a long time to vote + the two extra days. I'll accept your votes, but you are getting a deduction.
As long as votes actually come in and are counted, I never really see the need for lateness deductions. Up to the host though obvv
