As you will have noticed we have a new pinned thread! (Click ME)

 

 

We have decided to move our thread on BJSC XL into this forum for a week to open up the veto process so you can see what happens. None of this thread has been edited or altered in anyway. XL in particular was chosen because there was no country info on the lists and we had a smooth month with just one veto so it's one of our more simple months. Also look out for Ghosty actively pointing us in the direction of his entry for closer scrutiny.

 

Like the rule alteration, this is another small thing we have identified we can do to address your concern. We won't be making every thread public, this will be the only one. (GM/Admin can vouch for us when we say this is an accurate representation of what happens every contest) By making this thread public it is our aim to demystify the process and help y'all try to understand what we do.

 

We have another idea in the works that might by our final piece in the puzzle, so keep tuned for that.

 

 

In the meantime, have a read through and please, Please, PLEASE do ask any question you have. If you want to comment on a particular post hit the +quote button and then hit new reply in this thread to quote it. If you want anything explained further just ask.

WooWoos were discussed with regards to vetoing? :o I mean, they had a bit of hype, but I'm surprised they were even discussed.

^^ This! I mean I think they were featured on Popjustice but that was about it!

IIRC they also had a small topic in the pop forum, so they had been 'mentioned' on Buzzjack but only the smallest of cases and that's not enough to get something vetoed considering almost everyone ignores the small topics. :(

 

But the right decision was made so that's fine.

 

That was very interesting to read actually. I'm rather nosey so I'd often wondered how it works up there. I did think when you said XL that I couldn't remember anything actually being vetoed that month, that really was a smooth one, wasn't it? :lol:

Bob Sinclar/Sophie Ellis Bextor was vetoed, but that was all.

I didn't remember it until I read that thread whereas I could probably name a veto from the other contests I've been in if I tried, because I normally make a point of checking out the ones I didn't know if they were mentioned, but I'd never checked out the Sophie Ellis-Bextor song, partly because I'm not a fan but I had no memory of it all, which is strange.

We discuss a number of entries on occassions. Sometimes one of us might see a song as a potential hazard and flag it up to see if the rest of us happen to share similar concerns, or maybe aren't aware that the song could potentially be well known to the forum. It's basically just a way of trying to make sure something doesn't accidentally slip through the net.

This was a rip roaring success I see. The BJSC XL pinned thread shall be returned to the mod forum tomorrow night, so you have about 20hrs to have a read through an comment. ^_^
