Given it's officially a HUGE smash in America, I'm more confident than ever of it smashing here too (whenever it comes around, I've learned not to hold my breath regarding release dates any more).

Yeah, this is a smash in the (admittedly, very long) waiting. My other half heard it on the Samsung Galaxy ad in the cinema, (and me being me) was like 'What is that? You HAVE to download it for me.', I was like 'I already did...'.
I still say they're making a huge mistake by holding the release off for too long, I bet it would already be in the top 20 on iTunes right now if it was available with those adverts everywhere. I just hope it's not too late and interest hasn't fizzled out by the time they finally release it...

There are a lot of people in Britain who rely on the music channels and radio to discover new songs so I'd say it can still do amazingly if held back for radio.
Exactly, the casual music buying public are in no way aware of this yet. The only people who really know about it in the UK is us music geeks who follow charts in other countries.

But the same was true of Passenger a few weeks ago

I still maintain that, in this day and age, it's generally sales that drive airplay, not the other way round. For unknown acts, usually their song takes off and leaps up the official chart first, and then radio takes notice of how well it's doing and starts playing it. That was certainly what happened with Passenger and Gotye, to name just two. Obviously radio will play songs by well-established acts that aren't in the charts yet, but for an anonymity like Icona Pop, I really don't think radio WILL start playing it en masse until they see that it's popular and doing well in the charts......so if the label are waiting for it to be top 10 on airplay and videoplay before they release it then I don't see it happening that way.

I agree, It should have been released in March and allowed to climb up slowly, I think it would have sold much more. It's up against The Saturdays on the 30th June, which will no doubt be a close battle.

I Love it has started gaining spins on Capital and seems to be on tons of adverts.

I've seen it on the music channels a lot more recently too, the buzz is growing for sure!

How many adverts is it on now? I just heard it in the background of one on BBC1, for Eurovision! :o

(Which makes sense with the Swedish connection)

What was the last non-dance song from Sweden to break through in the UK (considering both Cry For You and Release Me were marketed here as dance songs even though I'd call them pop, certainly the latter). Was it Young Folks in 2007? :o

Ooh is the Eurovision advert starting to be shown, I was wondering when it was going to start being advertised! Hopefully I'll see it tomorrow before The Voice! Love that they are using Icona Pop, I suppose it would've been a bit biased using 'Glorious' :kink:

It better not stop any hope The Saturdays have off getting another number one.

I reckon this could beat the Sats to the top spot!

Well The Sats might grow on me but this is what I think right now

'I Love It' >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>> anything the Sats have done.

Let the battle commence.

*cue ILI being delayed indefinitely and The Sats going to #1*

At this stage (with it still to be released in over a month), I'd be VERY surprised if this doesn't debut at #1.
