:o That was very quick. I guess her performance in the US has helped it here too. The only other time I've seen a US performance boost a song in the UK chart was Beyonce's performance of Love On Top last year when she announced her pregnancy.

 

I think it's a really good song aswell, much better than Part of Me.

In the documentary I watched about it, this guy, who studies Madonna as a career (:drama:) said that it's probably the event in her career that she regrets the most (basically, they couldn't afford to interview the actual Madonna, so they got this guy who knows everything about her and interviewed instead as to what she probably would think about everything :lol:).

Just wondering there are two Gavin DeGraw songs in the Top40 because it was the last episode of One Tree Hill and 'I Don't Want To Be' is the theme tune and was sung by the cast? Same for 'Solider'

'I Don't Want To Be' now to #17 - definitely looks like it has a chance of re-peaking this week. 'Soldier' at #36 so should definitely give him a second top 100 hit.

It says a lot that the version that TV plays is so low, while the Madeon mix which as far as I'm aware is only getting exposure from R1 is in the top 40. Madeon's remix production is the only good thing about this. Looks likely to outpeak 'Ready 2 Go' but will probably miss the top 40.

Madonna was slaughtered by the media in america.The BIGGEST backclash that only comes once or twice in a lifetime. The backlclack started to build up in 1991 but it didnt explode until "That Book" came out, people were so fed up with her.

Although I think if a pop star released a sex book like that now, people wouldn't make much of a deal about it. It's so difficult for them to cause controversy now. Being liberal isn't shocking to people anymore. I would imagine pop stars would cause more shock and public outrage now if they started saying/doing conservative-type things. But they generally wouldn't because that doesn't go down well with young people, which is the target audience for most of them.

I saw it a few years ago on a mtv special about kylies comeback in 2000 & there was even thread discussing kylies cancelled sex book on the kylie forum years ago.
