This is exactly what I was expecting from it. It's very "The Killers" and I'm really pleased with it (although I am easier to please than most people). It's like 'Bones' and 'When You Were Young' blended together. I love it and if you're a The Killers fan, I can't see you not loving it, tbh. Maybe if you were expecting something "different", but you should come round to it after your initial first listen and reaction of it.

Its a lot more in the vein of When You Were Young than Human. Its certainly not straying any new boundaries and does sound a bit messy at points, but its still decent. Great to have them back!

Like I said, it's not a bad song but certainly a bad first single. Because they have always been a singles band and this is one of their weakest singles to date.

Excluding the christmas singles, their chronology goes like this:

"Somebody Told Me"

"Mr. Brightside"

"All These Things That I've Done"

"Smile Like You Mean It"

"When You Were Young"

"Bones"

"Read My Mind"

"For Reasons Unknown"

"Tranquilize"

"Human"

"Spaceman"

"The World We Live In"

"A Dustland Fairytale"

"Runaways"

And for now Runaways seems worse than all of the others.

I don't think it's fair to call them a singles act when all their albums (bar 'Sawdust' maybe? Which wouldn't have needed to considering it's only B-Sides, demos etc..) have sold over a million. (Or at least have them close to selling over a million)

I'm loving this more and more with every listen at the moment. It's not quite on the same level as other songs from them, but I didn't expect that in all honesty. I do sort of see what you mean about it not being "lead single material" and stuff, it is quite different and does genuinely sound more like a The Killers 3rd single sort of song, but I have high hopes that the majority of the album will be of a better quality and that's what they'll need to keep the album selling.

I really like this. I haven't been playing their albums as much as I used to so I wasn't having high expectations but this is lovely. They are back!
It's essentially just a combination of their other singles, but somehow less catchy. Nothing more than okay.
They are slowly turning into Bruce Springsteen, I like it a lot that said. Roll on the tour :D
Oh this is infinitely better than Human. Although it's not really much of a progression from anything on Sam's Town really, I do like it though.
You can approach a new Killers single from two angles (at least). Some peole are happy that it has all the hallmrks of a Killers song. It's rousing, anthemic, will sound great in a stadium or a car. And yet that is exactly what the drawback is - it's just another Killers single - not unlike previous ones and probably not unlike future ones. It does its job - if it's job is to make the fans happy with the euporia of a fresh new Killers song. Anyone else looking for something a bit different will be disappointed.
I (and likely many others) would be more than happy with the same old sound and style, it's more of a question of whether they can make songs that are as good as on the first two albums.
Easily my favourite Killers single since "Read My Mind", I'm a bit surprised to be honest, especially after Brandon's relatively mediocre solo effort.

meh. Could have been a hell of a lot better (but could have been a hell of a lot worse). Still absolutely loving the song though

Like it, but does anyone else think the "Human" video would have fitted the song better and vice versa?
This is everything I had expected and totally matches the feeling of the song, I now love this too much!
Great to have them back, the charts are lacking bands like The Killers so i welcome them back with open arms, and with the material i have heard to date it appears they can still deliver the goods which is a huge relief.
