Interesting to see "Bassline" looking like it might be a big hit with you. Saw it live in February and liked it, it was #1 on Mark's chart a couple of weeks ago I seem to recall. Buzzjack's rarely a good indicator of how well a song might do in the official charts but I never thought Reverend and the Makers would even have the faintest hope of anything resembling another hit.

Look at the chart run. I was a Loonreen 12 weeks ago - doesn't compare to GD or Ghosty but that's beside the point!!! :P

So 'Timebomb' ended up being a non mover despite an increase in sales. What a badly handled single. :drama: The fact that even with the video getting a fair amount of airplay, the song has just continued to drift downwards on iTunes and I just don't see the track recovering from its initial boost in sales on its release day.

When Eurovision dominates, a lot of songs end up lower than I expected but that's what happens when you bring extra tracks into the equation. I can see 'Dance Again' stabilising for a couple of weeks despite it's somewhat sharp(ish) decline down my chart compared to 'On The Floor'.

That'll be the BJSC effect as Mark entered the track. I'm not sure if this was actually released because if it was, it sure past me by completely. I only discovered this track thanks to Mark and it's brilliant. However, whether this becomes a hit in its own right is left to be seen.

Rare? :o This is the first time ever in my chart that a former #1 has returned to the top. Like I mentioned last week, the rise of 'Euphoria' up to no. 10 was off the back of the semi finals. With the full Eurovision effect taking fullv force, Loreen benefits from this by becoming the first artist ever to achieve a reclaimed chart topper for me. *.*

'La La Love' turned out to be my second fave overall post-contest. It had been between Romania and Bosnia but with further listens of the tracks, some tend to make more of impact. Mandinga's track is still by far one of my overall faves from Eurovision, and the mighty force of Kylie (and Rudimental) was enough to see Bosnia's entry relegated to top 20 status.

 

10 (--) Rudimental feat. John Newman - Feel The Love (10) [1 wk] I like this a surprising amount, these niche dance #1's that we have in the UK every now and then always seem to make my playlist and nothing more but there's something more special about this track, the unexpected sax breakdown maybe?

 

I hadn't heard this anywhere before it hit #1 on iTunes so when it finally replaced Loreen at #1, I decided to have a listen expecting the worst. However, I was really impressed and still think this was a worthy chart topper. Shame it looks likely to only have the one week at the top though. :(

 

34 (--) Željko Joksimovic - Nije Ljubav Stvar (34) [1 wk] So close to going top 20 for me this week but didn't quite make it, very powerful performance

 

Despite sounding a little bit like 'Paradise' in places, I still like this song. Much prefer this to 'Molitva' if we're going to compare Serbian Eurovision entries. Funny how Graham Norton kept saying during the results "I'm really surprised, I didn't think Serbia were a contender". Buzzjack did!!! :D

Indeed. :o As mentioned in reply to GD, this is the first time in the history of my chart that a song has returned to the top spot.

 

'Euphoria' is my favourite Eurovision winner since Sertab Erener 'Every Way That I Can (Galleon Remix)' in 2003. Even though I wasn't compiling my own chart back then, I'm sure even Sertab wouldn't have achieved what Loreen has done here. :D

It's so rare it's never happened before. :lol: It's a shame the UK have this stigma with Eurovision. BBC make me laugh (ironic laughter) the most. They broadcast Eurovisyon yet seem embarrassed to be associated with it. Madness!!! :D

I think it's safe to say the video helps. :lol: I actually like 'Where Have You Been' and always considered it a standout track off the album when I listened to all the preview clips on iTunes when the album was released.

I think 'Feel The Love' is a great track. It might even climb in my next chart this weekend. I like that whilst it's "dubsteppy drum & bass" ( :D ) it also sounds quite commercial and radio friendly so ticks all the boxes nicely. :lol:

Oh yes!!! :D Every year I have my annual Eurovision clear out. This years batch have fared far better than last year when 'Popular' was the only Eurovision entry to make my top 10 post-contest. 'I Can' had already made the top 10 but tailed off by the final and never recovered.

It's just a fun cheesey song typical of Europe. How can you not like a song like this? Unless you're someone who is a right party pooper and grumbles at anything over 125bpm. :lol:

I agree, 'Timebomb' is a great track. I'm quite surprised this hasn't well so far but I guess these days people need as many platforms as they can to get a hit. Kylie performed on The Voice but Kylie needs to get as many TV slots as possible.

'Never Forget' was one of the early standouts from all the semi finalists but I did think their performances in the final just seemed to be lacking something special.
