I blame the management. I am so pissed off! The girls seem to have so much ideas but the management are just like 'oh well...'

According to tim94 on the US Airplay thread, 'The "official" radio premier is tonight after their E-Show'

The show is not a flop, tho. 0.914m viewers is good for E.

And sadly it seems like the girls can't do anything about the whole situation. All the promo has been a "gift" from E!. Didn't you see that most of their promo slots was to promote Chasing The Saturdays before anything else. Their label has done nothing yet, bar sending the song 2 or 3 days ago...but hey, that's not a huge task, is it?

Well in the US its not all about the viewing figures; the key is how good the show rates with the 18-49 demographic. Least I think that applies to E! too. Does anyone have detailed information about the show's ratings?

Their mailer insisted on further TV appearances in the US so one can only hope Ellen is included! :D

Wasn't the official premiere on Monday? The show wasn't on last night unless it was a repeat, and why would they do the premiere after a repeat episode?

Think I might have to stop coming into this thread. You're all acting like it's over now. Even if it doesn't become a Hot 100 hit, it's most certainly far from over for the moment. This was about getting their names out there as a group and getting critics blogging and supporting them. This is the US, everything's a lot different and slower to the way it would work in the UK. There's some over reactions on here. So they were #102 yesterday and did nothing about it? Yeah, coz they're psychics and supposed to know when it will peak on iTunes and when to promote the song.

They'll be back over there once E!'s "gifts" (I like that) have stopped. I'm sure of it. Their label aren't that stupid. What's the point in cramming in all the shows they can get in now? What will they have for later when they're at their peak on the radio and nothing else to promote on? (when it'll be needed the most).

Stop fretting and getting all OTT about this. Seriously. Start panicking at the end of February/beginning of March if you must.

Thank you!

The thing is in the US (especially with new artists) songs can take months and months to catch on properly. So far they've done everything perfectly. Airplay is always the last thing to kick in in the US, look at Ellie Goulding 'Lights' that was selling bucket loads before radio jumped on. The song has clearly got a small demand hence the iTunes recognition, I imagine they're going to wait for the series to end and have the song sell quietly, THEN focus on radio formats to make the song an actual hit. It might never happen but that doesn't mean it won't happen with the next single.

They're label will obviously have a detailed plan of dates and everything to coincide with their major promotions later on.

It's common sense. When your reality show is about to premiere, you're about to launch an EP and interest is building up you don't leave the country. Airplay is a big concern, theres no reason why they can't do radio tours without Rochelle right now. You said they're waiting for the show to end then they can focus on the song, uh, where's the logic in that? They don't need to do anything to promote the show, the show will promote itself through advertising and them building up a profile. How can they build a profile if they're nowhere to be seen? Forget about the song for a minute, how are they supposed to build viewers for their show if nobody knows them? If they actually promoted the song and themselves they could also increase viewers for the show, kill two birds with one stone.

If we're waiting until April before they come back over to the US (the UK release is in March and they have the Grand National in early April) then all the momentum will be dead. They'll have to start from scratch to boost the song on iTunes again and by that time Little Mix will also be over there as well. They'll no longer be able to use the "bringing girl power to the US" thing if Little Mix are already ahead of them.

I just think this break is classic Saturdays. Gone for the entire 2012 (besides a few weeks in May), do a few things in the US in January 2013 and now it looks like they need another holiday before returning back there.

And before you start calling me pessimistic, I'm being realistic. It's America and radio are extremely hard to get on board. Olly done tons of radio tours last year with Heart Skips A Beat and it's airplay was non existent. Radio will be more inclined to play the song NOW (when it's doing so well on it's own and the show has just launched and they're still a hot topic) then a few months when the song and show have probably slipped due to the girls being nowhere in sight.

In the mean time we can do our part & Request the songs on Mediabase and tweet the biggest stations in US including z100 New York & 102.7 Kiis fm Los Angeles.

That's not how it works though. That's how it'd work in the UK, but not the US. Things move slower over there. What don't you get?

There's NO POINT promoting it all in one go. When do you see someone perform the same song twice (that isn't Psy) on the same chat show? Never (or at least extremely rarely). So to scatter out the promotional campaign is the only logical explanation for it to work and gather momentum for when their radio starts increasing/peaking, so they can impact bigger on iTunes. People are really under estimating the radio's effectiveness in the US, without radio it won't be a hit. Mikal's right in that it might not happen, but that's not to say it won't.

Also, aren't they going back like next week or something to do a little radio tour or something? I'm sure I read it on here somewhere.

Exactly and when someone says something positive they get put down :( sad really

Yeah all this negativity needs to be put down a bit. At the end of the day, the saturdays broke into the top 50 in Canada and top 150 in Us, something not many artists over there have managed to accomplish. Obviously they haven't stopped promoting it and they have the jeff probst show tommorow, so I don't under stand some of your disappointments

I do think that some people need to be realistic about the whole scenario. It might not be a Hot 100 hit but they're doing a lot of promotion of America which ultimately makes up for it. Yes, it might have been brilliant (in your opinions :kink:) if they got a Hot 100 hit but they're quite lucky that they're doing so well anyway given that they aren't exactly well-known over there.

^NOT BAD?! That's brilliant...

And thank you Jonjo! Thankful someone understands the difference in markets.

It's #79, not #9.

OMG why are some of you sats fans so dumb. I hate coming in here reading shit posts every single time. Thank God for people like Jonjo.
Oh god, are we really going to have an argument over a CHART POSITION? :drama:

#79 would be seen as a flop in the UK where it seems so much easier for American artists to break through, but in the US or Canada where it's so much harder to break through it does seem pretty great. Not like anyone expects them to do top 10 kinda success.

79 for a first week is huge for Canada or America. Other songs that reach number 1 start mid 90's and work their way up.
